Exactly. First thing I said when I saw this was, *I need a cage/kennel like this one!* I had a cat, Savion, who didn't take well to getting shots. I had to let the vet know she's going need to sedate him or have someone hold him. She said she'd alright. Well... When she came back into the room, I noticed her hands. He got her. When she went back to him, yeah, she had to give him a little bit of the *happy* needle. I'm not going to lie about my cats. Some are chill, some are not. 😶😶

Cats are so different than dogs when giving shots, y’all have to understand that. Dogs take them more easier as where a cat will most definitely defend themselves. They take being poked and pronged as a threat as a dog has no issue. A lot of vets will actually sedate cats bc it is safer for both parties involved.. And yes, it’s a small sedation and wears off in a couple hours

I have a cat whose hand raised from a kitten but isn't used to other people besides our family touching him because we got him that the beginning of covid, AND he's got kitty anxiety cause he was separated from his mom too young cause he was a rescue. Despite my vet doing everything possible to try and make a calm situation for him he just goes absolutely feral once they try to handle him. They managed to get him a shot and blood drawn with 2 people holding him under a towel!! (Mind you this was even after a slight dose of calming medicine!) Next time we will just get him sedated so they can do a better exam. Yea it sucks he can't just chill, but some cats are just extra defensive outside the safety of home, no matter what the vet or you do. So ways to safely restrain them are necessary to be able to give them shots they need!! It isn't animal abuse. It's necessary care.❤
I think a device that would lock the cage in place would be useful. That way they could get the cat compressed enough go give it the shot and the cat wouldn't be able to move until it was unlocked. That way they wouldn't have to keep trying over and over again.

To the people saying this is cat abuse... It would be neglectful for the cat not to get the shot at all. The reason the cat needs the cage is becausd it will run away, attack, and maybe even hurt ITSELF. Its for its own good. Yeah, sure, the cat is under stress but you never called your doctor abusive when you were scared of getting a shot! Plus, how else would they do it?

Dogs trust that their pack will help them if they get sick. Cats expect their weakness to be taken as an opportunity for something to kill and eat them, hence dogs will usually be fine at the vet so long as they haven't had any trauma and the people in the room are modeling positive signals. Cats read the room a little more independently.
To be honest this cage system is kinda smart. If they can’t move then they can’t squirm around and make your life difficult. But it also might make the cat scared. So it has it’s ups and downs
