    It’s funny, when you think luxury you expect quality, class and sophistication and luxury brands spend millions of dollars on marketing, attempting, and unfortunately succeeding in fooling many consumers that their products are actually worth the inflated price tags, but as you’re about to see, many of these premium products, are just not worthy of the asking price.
    ---
    At ReDriven, we’ll be taking you through the pros and cons of a huge range of used cars to see how well they’re going now that they’re a few years old, have thousands of kilometres on the clock, and are coming toward the end of their warranty, or maybe don’t have one at all.
    Plus, thanks to our resident mechanic, Jim, you’ll find out what commonly goes wrong with them and what might need to be fixed.
    Most importantly, we want to make ReDriven a voice for the most in-the-know used car experts there are...you guys.. See, you’re the ones that actually buy, live with, love and sometimes unfortunately hate the cars we’ll be reviewing.
    So we want to hear your thoughts. Hit us up in the comments, or on Instagram and Facebook.
    We’d love nothing more than for you to give us as much feedback as possible, so we can make this channel the best it can be.

    A few ideas for future videos if you run out of ideas.
    1. Most indestructible and flimsy cars on Australian roads.
    2. Most molested or overmodded cars
    3. Best accessories to help fuel consumption and the worst for chewing more juice.
    4. Best and worst cars for project cars for beginners on a budget.
    5. Design features from old cars that should be brought back and new features that should be chucked into the scrap bin.

    Issues with Alfa Romeo , are not even close to be bad and be on the list - especially when people complain about gearbox in Alfa that is exactly the same as in BMW and they praise same gearbox there. If a car has a more sportier setup like Stevlio , cv joint will fail- and that is always the case. Only issue is where u have manufacturer that doesn't want to sell just the CV joint but the whole assembly which makes it much more cheaper - as i have driven a lot of performance cars for years I'm yet to see one that hasn't failed , however You can buy separate part on Alfa Romeo easy , BMW, OPEL OPC version for instance You can't.

    • @ReDriven
      @ReDriven  3 года назад +1

      Ah that's such a tough one. Used car markets globally are going through this incredible time and the pricing we're all seeing for certain cars is just incredible.
      Like any bubble, it will burst however, we think certain for certain cars, this will be their new starting point in terms of price. For example, we can't imagine the likes of Hyundai Tucson and Nissan Xtrail prices to continue at these lofty levels as the world (hopefully) returns to normal but special and unique vehicles like mint condition low kilometre GC8 WRX's, Honda Integra Type R, Nissan S15 200SX and the range of Japanese performance cars form the 90's and 00's we expect will continue to climb in value.
      As far as advice, it really depends on what you're looking at. In some circumstances, dive in ASAP as some future classics are still (just) affordable but for other cars, we'd possibly hold off if you can.
      Thanks so much for watching and commenting too. - AK

    There's only one moderately reliable recent Land Rover and that's the Freelander 2. It's still got the odd niggle, but because it was designed as (the last) affordable entry level Land Rover, it's pretty cheap to fix. They're seriously good off-road so it's the one Land Rover whose issues don't outweight the benefits. I really love mine.

    I used to own a Range Rover. I can't show you any photos of it because for mental health reasons I destroyed them.
    It had two superlative attributes;
    * It was absolutely magic to drive and had brilliant 4wd capabilities - when it was actually able to be driven.
    * It had amazing tax deductibility qualities which even surpassed property negative gearing on occasions.
    Not long ago I was offered one for virtually nothing. However after talking to the unfortunate individual who had suffered as I did I realised that my RR depression symptoms would soon return if I stayed in its presence too long.

Maserati ferrari jaguar and porsche are apparently also unreliable especially as they age. Not like your 40000 km Lexus. So likely none of them are a good second hand buy. Also find many examples of these companies not honouring their own warranties.

    Wait... LOL 5 out of 5 (or 6?) of Worst SUVs are Range Rovers? That's deserved, but can you make a list (except Range Rovers)? If something is pile of utter expensive shit, I think it can be in a league of it's own. Range Rover buyers are just gamblers and love high-risk plays, that's all.

      Wonder how this would relate to our rubbish conditions here in Australia? Soon as we can find a GLC with loads of kilometres and a few years on it, we'll hopefully find out.

    I'm a second owner of a 2010 range rover sport with now 150k KMs on the clock neither the old owner or I have ever had any problems (which can be said for a lot of rover owners) besides from usual wear and tear such as control arm bushes (which is due to the car weighing close to 2700kg) and just normal services. Most people that say rovers are bad have never had one for themselves or they claim there mates or friends uncles sisters brothers friend had one and it was a nightmare, I call bullshit. Aslong as ya look after them they will be ok, service every 10k KMs. Basically preventative maintenance is a big key to having a happy experience when owning a Landrover product. Another thing most mechanics aren't prepared to work on landrovers or alot of euro cars (BMW, Audi, etc) which isn't there fault but it anoys me that they say they are bad and shit just because they struggle to fix them. If you speak to a Landrover specialist which obviously specialise in rovers you won't hear half the things you do from other mechanics. 🙂

      @liamburton4329 3 года назад

      Not only that but again when you say you spoke to mechanics I doubt they specialise in any of these vehicles (which proves my point) but hey correct me if I'm wrong 🙂

      Look I'd happy to be wrong to a degree BC it just means I'm one of the lucky ones, either way this was a good vid🙂 it just annoys me that people hold such harsh views on a company that is shit on by many people constantly and for what.. having problems even though they are the ones advancing the car industry along side many other euro brands.

      @@liamburton4329 Hi Liam. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time out to write your comments, we do really appreciate it.
      I hate to be the bearer of bad news but 4 of the technicians we spoke to work exclusively for Land Rover/Jaguar. I'm not at liberty to share where in Australia they work and they are hardly going to "go public" with their statements but all have some truly disastrous stories to tell regarding the lack of quality and longevity across the JLR range. All 4 made it very clear they would never buy or recommend a Land Rover/Jaguar product even though they work on them everyday.
      We completely agree with you that many owners adore their Land Rover product and have had little to no issues, the Discovery 4 that we reviewed recently is a great example of that, that owner has had a faultless journey, however, it is the inconsistencies across vehicles that seem to be the issue.
      We spent many hours going through various consumer and reliability reports and for every owner that raves about their Land Rover, there are three that have had a nightmare of a time.
      When you look at similar reports regarding Lexus/Toyota or even Mazda, Subaru, Hyundai and Kia, the vast majority of reports and educated opinions from technicians and specialists show glowing reviews.
      Where we struggle is (especially in Australia) the inflated pricing and horrendous depreciation of Land Rover product. How is it these "luxury" vehicles are built with such inconsistencies when an equivalent Lexus seems to show bulletproof reliability across the range? And at what point, no matter how beautiful and how well marketed a car is, do we as consumers just call bullshit?
      There is no denying Land Rover product are gorgeous and when working at 100%, are incredible, it's just that working at 100% for many owners is sometimes 50% of the time. - AK

      Mate I had two and they were good until they were a piece of shit. It's not bull. And I've not met a LR mechanic who doesn't say they are a money pit. It's not every single car that is going to fall apart, Toyota have defects too just their rate is like 5% across all models. LR are normally fighting it out with Jeep at the bottom, many model's defects are 45% - Source JD power

    How to fix Land Rover/Jaguar reliability....Build them in the north east UK or any other country except S.A. West Midlands UK mentality seems to be stuck in the socialist 1970's....do the crappiest job you can get away with and go on strike at the smallest excuse.
