Here's my *Luke Cage Season 2* Iron Fist Heroes For Hire Review video. Once you have a chance to see it, post all your reactions in the comments! More Heroes For Hire videos next week! Westworld Finale video tonight
Emergency Awesome Season 2 of Luke Cage was better than the first . My favorite character new character was tilda . Also I loved the appearance of Iron Fist and the fight scenes were amazing .
I agree that they did wonders with the Danny Rand character. At first, I was going to skip watching the first season of Iron Fist due to all of the negative reviews but now I'll probably watch just so I can catch up and look forward to season two instead.
SPOILER WARNING - I absolutely LOVED that scene where Iron Fist punches his golden fist into Luke Cage's hand to throw down all those guys. Totally a Thor and Captain America combo reference!!
hey mate, when you put spoilers go and put the spoilers a few lines down so people who don't want to be spoiled can skip past your comment and those that have watched the show can just click read more. (i've already seen the show so its cool, just remember next time)
Best scene in the whole season, hands down!!!! With the way this series ended, I'm real concerned there won't be any more Heroes For Hire scenes like that anytime soon!
Bushmaster was def one of the best Netflix MCU villians!! The actor did more than justice to the character and steals the show!! Misty was really badass this season and LOVED her comic accurate arm!! DEF fanboyed at all the other defenders references, ESPECIALLY Matt!! :D Iron Fist/Dany was def the MVP in episode 10!!! Sooo excited for S3!!!
Hunter, I totally agree. Bushmaster is best MCU villain ever--better than Kilmonger. However, Mariah was a pretty compelling character. Alfre should definitely win a Golden Globe or an Emmy--or both.
I kid you not if the show was focused on Bushmaster and not Luke Cage. Bush Master would of looked more like the hero. Being the people he wanted to take down were corrupt and the things he did were for justified reasons of how bad they were. If anything he was trying to clean the filth out of Harlem. Pretty much like Jason Todd or how Oliver Queen was in Arrow.
@Winston, if there's ever a 3some I wouldnt mind being in, it would be with that combination of chics you mentioned. Hows that for sweet Christmas. Nandi got junk in her trunk too.
It's still mediocre. Bushmaster is better than Mariah, but we get more Mariah than Bushmaster so what's the point ? She's awful. Everytime she's on screen with Shades you want to fast forward. They have what, 4 or 5 bodyguards ? And they're supposed to control Harlem ? Look at the Italians in the end, the Jamaicans, the Russians, even the Irish in Punisher : they have dozens of people... It's so bad...
Bushmaster is such a compelling character. You get to slowly understand where he's coming as the season goes along and brutal savagery he commits. The MVP of the show this season is Mariah, you start off hating her, then slowly having slight sympathy for her then going back to hating her. She's such a vile, volatile, petty person that doesn't let anything go. My conclusion so far is that I like season 2 of Luke Cage more then season 1.
This season was pretty darn good season. To me love the mix of The Godfather, New Jack City and little bit of Batman and Joker elements for season 2 of Luke Cage. This really dealt with the psychology of the characters and each episode showcased that really well.
Even though Mariah and Shades were awful characters ? Even though 13 episodes was way too long ? You could watch it in fast forward the scrip was so simple... Nothing great written, it was so basic... A new player in town, he's strong, he takes them all out, no cunning plan nothing. They fight, one of them escape, they fight again. 3 times. With whom ? Bushmaster or Mariah ? Doesn't matter, they do it with both... Compare that show to DD S1, Punisher or Legion, it is very very poor... Jessica Jones season 2 was a loooong boring season as well.
The guy can't convey emotions for shit. I mean the scene where he confesses everything was just weird... Smiling the whole time, still carrying that fake mobster attitude it's ridiculous... It was supposed to be his human moment and it was just nothing...
i actually like bush master a little more than kill monger. i found that he had a little more identity out side of his race while still being heavily connected to it. and i found my self actually routing for him as much as cage
Angus Wallace Bushmaster is way better than Killmonger. Killmonger literally wanted white genocide and didn’t even see his father die. Bushmaster saw his family burnt alive, met grandma Stokes who did it, then got shot in the stomach two years later.
Arc 48 I'm not going to attack you for what you took away from Black Panther but, Killmonger didn't want to kill all white people. He wanted to arm the oppressed so they could fight the oppressors. His aim was to rule the world through Wakanda with real justice and fairness (from his point of view), he never said anything about genocide.
Nathaniel Seaberry I’m pretty sure he said something along the lines of “rise up and kill their oppressors” and who do you think “the oppressors” are? Besides the fact that I don’t even agree that blacks are oppressed or victims of more racism than all other races in the country, it sounds like he’s advocating for white genocide. Plus at least Bushmaster had some honor. Killmonger had none. Also, thanks for being civil unlike that other guy. It seems like he really hates me for my opinion about a movie where a superhuman king in an indestructible cat suit has to fight his cousin in another indestructible cat suit lmao.
Arc 48 so you think white people are oppressors but black people aren't oppressed? Your logic is a bit confusing but ok. You're free to have your opinion though. Killmonger is talking of going to war not genocide, will there be blood...of course. Will he kill every white person...no. Also, he's speaking of oppressors globally like militias in Africa, Isis, Kim jun un, and others. He didn't say he just going after America and Europe. I think the message of the movie got lost on a lot of white people cause they wanted to be offended. Bushmaster is a safe alternative (even though their message is pretty much the same) because he's only going after other black people. If Killmonger had only wanted Wakanda and not to change the status que of society he'd be fine also. It's sad that you and others like you didn't get the full message cause you just focused on the white stuff, then altered the message in your mind.
Well the episode with him had more appearances of the glowing fist than the whole of Iron Fist Season 1... Still, he is badly written. Didn't that scene in the restaurant with him and Luke make you cringe ? It's soooooo slow... I don't know if it's bad acting, bad dialogues, or the lack of editing (13 episodes......). Probably all 3.
+CHRISTIAN SAUNDERS Eh, considering it was Bushmaster's background that (at least partly) motivated Tilda to kill Mariah I would say he succeeded in getting revenge on Mariah, albeit indirectly. Still it would have been satisfying for Bushmaster to get the kill himself
rogvortex58 You know the irony is that Mariah was enjoying Jadakiss perform at Harlem's Paradise. One of Jadakiss albums is the Kiss of Death. Which is what Tilda did to her mom/cousin.
Derrick Pino yeah you would’ve had to be a Godfather buff to notice the reference. It’s an interesting situation they’ve left Luke Cage in....definitely after the Michael Corleone moment.
If Bushmaster is a villain. Then Oliver queen is a villain. Being the people Bushmaster killed were corrupt and I know that's entirely wrong. Yet he wanted to destroy the drug factory and reclaim a club his family rightfully had claim for. After they were killed by the stokes and nearly himself. If I went off Arrow's Oliver Queen story. I'm pretty sure Oliver did way worse. Bush Master reminded me of Killmonger. Being his story made sense; while Luke Cage as nice as he was was saving the villain over and over again. Hence why that light skin cop I feel wasn't the villain also. She lad some truth to Misty about Mariah in that interrogation room.
Mind Yours Bushmaster was very much justified in his vendetta to eradicate the Stokes and even then he showed kindness to Tilda. His methods are very violent and too permanent so he's more like an anti hero exactly like the Punisher. If circumstances were just slightly different he and Luke would make great friends powerful enough to protect and clean up both Harlem and Brooklyn.
Cyberfrogs Cousin Vinny I'm not going to argue with you for what you took away from Black Panther but, Killmonger didn't want to kill all white people. He wanted to arm the oppressed so they could fight the oppressors. His aim was to rule the world through Wakanda with real justice and fairness (from his point of view), he never said anything about genocide.
+Cyberfrogs Cousin Vinny If we are going by movie reference. Killmonger did not plan out a Genocide. He sought out his rightful claim to the thrown and wanted to punish the people that wrongly did the urban communities. This was literally explained in the movie. He wasn't going to attack regular civilians. Yet the leaders who destroyed Africa's economy and that of the urban communities in America. That's not a villain like behavior. That's no different then what Bushmaster did. Being if that is considered being a villain. God forbid what you think of our troops who are fighting overseas for just oil to appease big businesses/corporations lol. If anything Killmonger motive was way more noble. Arm people so they would no longer be oppressed and re-direct a corrupt government that seems to never change; while they still had the technological advantage. Being it was only a matter of time before they caught up to Wakanda and then attacked it next. Kind of like the Apartheid in South Africa. To which South Africa was completely taken over. Most people don't even realize how big Africa is. You can fit the U.S., U.K., Russia, Canada, & Spain in Africa. Then when you find out how big South Africa is. You then understand why he wants to attack first. Being you have to think of how many Africans were genocides to take over such a big portion of it. Be it from the Tuskegee Experiments or just slavery. Stolen farm lands, polluted shores, taken over mines, and people being kicked from their residents. To then a nation of great people being thrown into the slums and Ghettos of America. Kind of like the Indians being thrown into reservation camps who use to flourish in the millions but are near extinct. You completely get what Killmonger was coming from. He wasn't a villain. He saw the future if that change didn't come sooner then later. It was only a matter of time till Wakanda was next. To which it was already taking place where people were trying to steal their vibranium/natural resource. Just like the rest of Africa's resources. You have to remember that he served our country. He's been in countless wars for our country to realize the evil of it. To know that we fought for nothing good but to steal and rob from other people's lands. Thus before they had a chance to attack Wakanda. The place he thought was a fantasy before his father told him about it. He wanted to create change to bring a proper order in place. Being he was right. The people of Wakanda literally stood by and did nothing while African people were raped, invaded, and the lands of Africa was/is continuously being pillaged . They did nothing to help those taken into America that were sold into slavery. Thus his anger was justified. Being at any moment in time they could of prevented all of it. It's no different then the rich knowing they could stabilize our economy if they all banned together. Even if it's not their obligation. It would bring prosperity among our Nation. To which is what Killmonger wanted to do. He wanted to restore a balance. Not to kill the people but to correct the wrong doing of the leaders of our Nation and truth be told he wasn't wrong in wanting to do so. If anyone knows the corruption more then anyone it has to be him. Being each mark on his body represented the lives he's taken in the serving of the people of our Nation. I see a person more insightful then being a villain if you ask me. Being he know what needs to be done more then anyone else. He's just going about it in a more severe way. Given he knows negotiations don't always work. Had a few hundred years for that lol
Best show best Marvel show on Netflix or T.V. Bushmaster was a great character edition and so was Ms Nightshade! Luke CAGE killing it. I hope Iron Fist season 2 is way better than that snooze fest season 1
SPOILERS What i didn't see coming in this season was in episode 8 when Detective Tyler mentions Detective O'Riley from Cloak and Dagger and now we know where O'Riley used to work in New York before she moved to New Orleans so it seems that Detective O'Riley and Misty Knight were co-workers and part of the same precedent before she moved. What's interesting is since Jeph Leob confirmed Cloak and Dagger is very connected to the MCU like Agents of SHIELD and the producers of Cloak and Dagger said both those characters might crossover with the other shows (which includes the streaming service shows), i wonder if Misty Knight might appear in Cloak and Dagger in a flashback sequence to Detective O'Riley's time as an officer of the NYPD before she transferred to New Orleans which would be a very surprising and interesting twist and that's how the "its all connected" thing becomes a reality and that would make some certain people to shut up and stop their whining and saying "they are not connected at all their just mentioning them" and that would show them whats up
Pretty Good season. Alfre Woodard's performance as black Mariah was just amazing and Bushmaster was the kind of character that one can really root for so for me the villains really stole this season even though it's very hard to call Bushmaster a villain after you realize what he is fighting for and what he means to his people. He is more of an anti hero in a similar class as the Punisher. Not only were his motives justified and his presence commanding but when push came to shove he showed mercy to a member of the family that kept destroying his life. He is also very powerful even more so than Luke (though Luke is more durable and has a perpetual healing factor) with the origin of his powers left kind of to interpretation it appears to be both mystical and biological very similar to the heart shaped herb of Black Panther but on steroids. Negatives: 13 episodes might be too many 10 would probably do however there was a ton of character development established. My own nitpick would be that Bushmaster really should have been given the Mariah's kill because as a Jamaican it was painful watching her killing innocent Jamaicans in cold blood without seeing her receive a more cathartic end.
James Evangelista Scott Buck is a terrible showrunner. He did Inhumans. Iron Fist Season 2 has a brand new team of writers to improve the character for his own series.
Renaldy Calixte he did? No wonder inhumans is a trash. Hopefully iron fist season 2 will be better, he's one of my fave heroes and didn't like one bit at all in season 1
VenomKitetsu I noticed that the trees in some scenes are yellow, orange and red which would suggest Fall and infinity war probably takes place close to when it was released irl plus it seemed to be spring/summer in infinity war. So I would guess this season takes place in Fall 2017
Kyle Latebeer they did it that during season one as well. It’s just for setting like the yellow is for setting that it’s in Harlem in the midday time and for cool effect.
until we find out otherwise I don't think marvel netflix will address that till daredevil season 3 or afterwards. They'll probably wait till Avengers 4 wraps up
YES!!! This is what I’ve been waiting for! Heroes for Hire baby! Luke Cage and Iron Fist are my favourites from the comics. The first Marvel comics I read as well. :D See it pissed me off how everyone hated on Iron Fist and said they should cancel it. I’m glad they’re sticking with it and making it better.
Biggie Cheese which year? I read the latest one that started before the Iron Fist show as I had read plenty of DC comics but Marvel I kept skipping so decided to first couple of volumes of PM&IF
Browning Bros ...folks hated on danny bland's show cause he was garbage... THAT WAS THEN... He's improved. He'll never be comics Danny Rand...but he really HAS improved since defenders... And patty cake was DOPE
This season was awesome. Loved the characters. BushMaster was my favorite by far; he came off more as a Anti-Hero towards the end. The finale had me envisioning possible future storylines. So much I want to say but No Spoilers
I love your channel and even your comments section is good. Great moderation and you can tell true comic book fans congregate here. Emergency Awesome is Awesome! Season 2 is better than season 1. I really enjoyed the show but the ending had me shook!
Iron Fist in this series was great. I was so excited to hear that he would be in this season and even more so when he and Luke started hanging out and kicking ass together. Looking forward to Iron Fist Season 2.
Yo man, I just finished watching the last episode man, and I gotta put some respect on it. That ending left me speechless. I gotta say Rest In Peace to Reg E. Cathey who played the role of Luke Cage's father. He did one hell of a job in his portrayal. After Mariah's death and her daughter feeling screwed off by Mariah by giving Luke the club instead of her....And then going full villain mode, its gonna be interesting to see how season 3 unfolds. Im really excited about this Emergency Awesome.
Yeah everything she said and did had me going. I either laughed at moments where at others I felt she was completely Savage lol. Her words had me going when she addressed people. On top of her being crazy ruthless.
I loved how Coleen was like, “Go ahead and take care of this. It’s on you. I’ll just sit here for a while.” Doesn’t lift a finger for a while as Misty fights. I just loved that.
I really loved Luke Cage Season 2. Same goes for the Daredevil and Jessica Jones Season 2. I am extremely excited for Daredevil Season 3. And yeah, I am excited for Iron Fist and The Punisher Season 2 as well.
blvckraikage Probably took it away to give everything a fair chance. A lot of people will turn away from something with anything less than 4 stars, and never find out if they themselves would have enjoyed it despite other people's opinions of it.
That bar fight in episode 3 of Luke Cage was ridiculous, I don’t care if she’s had fight training or not, seeing a 1 armed woman effortlessly take down multiple guys is so implausible
*SPOILERS* I thought this season was pretty good, there was a lot of things to like in it. Everything having to do with Mariah was great all the way to her death. I thought Shades was even better than he was last season which is saying something. I found Bushmaster to be pretty weak at times especially at first but I did enjoy him. The introduction of Tilda was great and I can't wait to see where her character goes in season 3. All the banter between Luke and Danny was really funny and enjoyable which was great to see. I like the storyline with Luke and his father even though it felt a tad rushed in my opinion. I thought what they did with Sugar was cool and interesting. The finale was amazing especially the ending and I can't wait for more. Only real weak points was some of stuff involving Claire and her sudden disappearance and overall absence for the remainder of the season, the villain was a tad weak like I said, D.W was slightly irritating and finally I'm not a fan of them not addressing the cliffhanger of season 1 with Diamondback at all but I guess we'll get to that eventually.
I talk about it in the video, but I think they were using this as proof of concept for future heroes for hire. But the financial deals they made for each of the series prevent them from only doing Heroes for Hire. They've already finished shooting Iron Fist Season 2. So we'll see if they change their plans in future years.
Leslie White Yeah I agree it took some time but he was vastly improved by the end of the season. Mariah was by far the MVP as far as villains go though.
Last-one-left I didn't mean weak in his physical abilities but as a character I found him to be not nearly as complex or as interesting as Cottonmouth or Mariah I'm well aware he could hold his own in a fight lol
luke cage season 2 is way better than season one and i love how Danny is so calm instead of how he was before with no hand to fight really cleared his mind
Finished Season 2 yesterday and I have to say it's way better than Season 1. Like Killmonger I became a fan of him for respectable and justifiable reasons. Mariah killed it literally lol this season. Ima going to miss her. But when Luke and Danny teamed up I loved it. It made me like Danny more than I already did. I hope they do a Heroes for Hire. When Luke is standing at the top of the throne it just felt right lol. I can't wait for season 3. Ps the music was amazing as usual, especially big man playing the guitar. You could feel as he played every note.
Luke Cage season 2 was leagues better than season 1. Not perfect, but definitely closer to the standard of quality set by Daredevil and Jessica Jones season 1. (who unfortunately had a much weaker season 2, because mommy issues are not quite as compelling as david tennant) I definitely want a heroes for hire series. Full blown, Misty Knight, iron fist, luke cage teamup.
Ben Hinman I didn't mind the mommy issues in Jessica Jones Season 2 but the fact that all we got was mommy issues and not much else was a problem. Jess's mom stuff was good but it should have been a side plot. Not the main focus of Season 2. There's a reason Malcolm and Hogarth had the best arcs on Season 2 of Jessica Jones. Hopefully Danny talks some sense into Luke and says dude lets just team up and stop running a nightclub in Season 3 of Luke Cage.
Man this was so much better than the first season. I didn’t like how angry Luke was, how much more he cussed, and how pushy Claire was in the first few episodes, but they fixed that real quick. More excited for Iron Fist Season 2, but dang they have bad fight choreography everywhere but Defenders and Daredevil. I couldn’t truly believe any of the fights in this season, except for Bushmaster’s stuff XP
Best Luke Cage season by far...I watched it all lastnight haven't slept yet.....Love Seeing Jada Kiss,Faith Evans,Rakim & KRS 1 get shine on it too The Music is always Amazing
Season 1 ALL the episode titles are Gangstarr songs. Season 2 ALL the episode titles are Pete Rock and CL Smooth songs. Pretty cool how they represent the golden era of hip hop by using the names of those tracks for each episode 🤨
Have only watch 11 episodes so far. It is better than season than season 1. The best part of it is Luke and his dad. Danny Rand/Iron Fist is the best appearance out of all the other shows he's done (Possibly because he is hardly in it). Update: Finished watching the series and I'm not real happy with the ending. Vague Spoilers: It seems like their going to go with "Power Corrupts... Absolute Power Absolutely Corrupts" for the next Luke Cage.
OMG. So much better than season 1. I feel like the last episode took a little longer than needed but Bushmaster was great and Mariah totally stole the show. Can't wait for Heroes for hire in future seasons.
Was pleasantly surprised, in general, with Season 2 (though for me it seemed to start REALLY slow). Funny enough one of its biggest highlights was the Iron Fist episode. That's the Danny Rand we should have had in the first season. Also, Bushmaster is no Cottonmouth, but the actor (and stuntman's) physicality and choreography are top tier, the quality of which I would expect in Daredevil. I sperged out when it came to the effectiveness of Luke Cage's abilities, though. As soon as he grabbed that grenade out of the air, I knew what he was doing and rolled my eyes.. given how concussive force works against him, the bones in his hands would have been severely damaged from the shockwave. Speaking of weaknesses, I'm continually disappointed in Luke's enemies' complete lack of imagination. While the dumb-looking six-barreled shotgun weapon was a good step in the right direction, none of these dangerous people seem to have ever considered the possibility of other means of destroying him and whine about how hard he is to deal with, every single episode.
You are honestly the most intelligent and insightful RUclips reviewer I have ever watched (And I’ve watched a lot). Keep up the great work! Your channel and the “Weekly Planet “ podcast are the best things on the net
I loved this series, Season 2 was much better than Season 1 and I already liked that. We did not have the mid season shift were used to and that was nice, and I did not really feel any episodes were just filler. They all pushed the story forward. The ending was a real surprise. loved the team ups with Danny and Misty. I'm with you a series where they do Heroes for Hire and also Daughters of the Dragon would be nice, even if its shorter runs like Defenders was.
Charlie, do you think that if they did a Heroes for Hire show, should it be more story-driven like the rest of the Marvel Netflix formula, or be more like, every episode is a new adventure where they get hired to do a job, kinda a like buddy cop show where every episode is a new case?
Your opening clip - that scene really was one of the best for me, and harked right back to the era of Blaxsploitation films with the styling and the music, that inspired the character in the first place. Great stuff!
The coffee thing all the way through was great. The old lady next door to cockroach. The cashier at the Russian mob place. The Italian mob boss. Everybody wants to have coffee with Luke.
mattmat74 I jumped out of my chair when they dropped "Cool Ruler" Gregory Isaacs classic reggae tune "Night Nurse" man!!! That came out in 1982!!! Great reference....... The entire soundtrack was dope as hell!!!!
Loved season 2, was a lot better than season 1. The pacing, action and acting were a lot better. Love the show's take on Tilda, really liked her character development throughout the season. Bushmaster was no joke and same with Mariah!
I’m season 3 of Jessica jones and Luke cage I hope to see them get together becuase I love them as a couple and I really want them to have Danielle cage
I grew up in New York, The Bronx to be exact. Hearing Bush Master and everyone else from his crew gave me a warm fuzzy feeling which brought back memories of my home town.
Great season, they really stepped the writing game up. I laughed my ass off every time Bushmaster corrected someone on Mariahs last name. I might just rewatch it and turn it into a drinking game lol
It's really great, definitely better than the first season. I was hoping a similar ending but I really didn't expect the showrunners really done it. Season 3 is definitely gonna be very intense. Bushmaster is a very solid villain/antagonist, totally match with Luke Cage arguably one of the best villain in Marvel Netflix & MCU. I think he might be even better than Killmonger for someone with very similar journey. As someone that don't use english as native language. I really suggest turning on that subtitles LOL
Bushmaster character was great and the actor did a really good job of portraying him and i loved the jamaican accent and language used in the season it was really good.
that's is a great idea and i think Kingpin should be the main villain and i think it should take place during Infinity War and deal with the aftermath and deal with the events of Avengers 4 which would make sense and we could see the Defenders point of view of the entire Infinity War and see who gets snapped out of existence and comes back after Thanos is defeated.
Bushmaster and Mariah were excellent. Loved the ambiguities of Luke at the end. Hoping season 3/iron fist 2 starts with the exploding of the club and Danny and Luke teaming up.
Here's my *Luke Cage Season 2* Iron Fist Heroes For Hire Review video. Once you have a chance to see it, post all your reactions in the comments! More Heroes For Hire videos next week! Westworld Finale video tonight
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR WORK!!!
Emergency Awesome was waiting for this. I had to binge watch it in 2 days so I could catch your review. Nice vid!
thanks man!
YOU ARE THE BEST!!
Emergency Awesome Season 2 of Luke Cage was better than the first . My favorite character new character was tilda . Also I loved the appearance of Iron Fist and the fight scenes were amazing .
This show made the impossible possible. They made Danny Rand look cool and i liked it.
Rambo Luib I thought I was the only one who noticed that bro
Rambo Luib I have hopes for iron fist season 2
He really needs to lean in on his bromance with Luke. That's where alot of his identity was formed in the comics, by how he plays off of Luke.
I agree that they did wonders with the Danny Rand character. At first, I was going to skip watching the first season of Iron Fist due to all of the negative reviews but now I'll probably watch just so I can catch up and look forward to season two instead.
Me too for a second I thought it was a different actor
SPOILER WARNING - I absolutely LOVED that scene where Iron Fist punches his golden fist into Luke Cage's hand to throw down all those guys. Totally a Thor and Captain America combo reference!!
hey mate, when you put spoilers go and put the spoilers a few lines down so people who don't want to be spoiled can skip past your comment and those that have watched the show can just click read more. (i've already seen the show so its cool, just remember next time)
Absolutely loved that too I thought that right away the Thor and Cap scenes !
Mind Yours, I agree. Bushmaster is an antihero.
Mind Yours that makes sense, but Bushmaster was also a psycho who wanted to beat Luke Cage just because he had Harlem's "heart".
you stole my words
and R.I.P. to the actor who plays Luke's father. I always loved him as an actor.
He's dead??
He was good in the wire r.i.p
Δημήτρης Μπάρδας he passed away
Passed in February this year, R.I.P.
I loved his voice, and I'll always remember him as Dirty Dee in the movie Pootie Tang.
I was rooting for Bushmaster to tear her head off the entire second half of the season.
Me too!! it git to the point the point that I was actually happy when Bushmaster beat luke cage before he got to the safe room
That scene was messed with what Mariah did everyone in that restaurant. I hated how she kept cheating death. Glad shes dead lol
@@primed7805 finally got around to watching it. That scene was dope!! I was screaming at Luke to take him out of the choke hold lol
💯
Am I the only one thanking the man upstairs that Mariah and Shades didnt get a sex scene together?
The guy that plays Shades looks like he is gonna throw up in Alfre's mouth every time they do the kissing scenes. Its hilariously sickening to watch.
mannn I was mad cuz i wanted a sex scene with Misty, Tilda or Nandi
No you are not. I don't think any of us could have handled it.
Is there a sane person who want Shades and Mariah to get a sex scene?
@Winston, if there's ever a 3some I wouldnt mind being in, it would be with that combination of chics you mentioned. Hows that for sweet Christmas. Nandi got junk in her trunk too.
This season was way better than the first
yep!
Kamren C definitely
but i was stil shit so... its stil shit!!!
Lies
I was really impressed with this season. Loved the iron fist episode.
im enjoying much more luke cage than jessica jones 2 or the punisher, i cant finish those
The iron fist episode was the only episode that I hated.
AngryZad The Iron Fist Episode was probably THE BEST episode of the Season.
Javier Aguirre Jessica jones wasn’t good but Punisher was incredible
AngryZad same
I really loved this season, especially BushMazta. God they finally fixed Danny. So excited for Iron Fist Season 2
Iron Fist is definitely the best when someone else is writing him
Caitlin Brewer he's better with other people. Him alone is awful.
As long as scott buck stays away It'll be cool.
Love how they rep Jamaica.. you can tell not a lot of the actors are not Jamaican but they did a really great job
Joku Sekou also Cage ain’t faster than Usain Bolt lol
It took me a beat to pick up the dialect. But Bushmaster was legit 👍
Joku Sekou agreed, it’s cool to see some representation in the mcu
I never said I faster...........
Ruben Avalos that legit got me upset
Get it right! Stokes! It’s Mariah Stokes.😂
Max Minhtet LMAO
Lmao always love how he corrects whoever
Like every single time..doesn't miss a beat 😂
lol that line was very important especially what happened to Mariah :P
I can hear the jamaïcan accent
Interesting Fact: The character "Cockroach" is played by Dorian Missick who is the husband of Simone Missick aka Misty Knight.
C Sanders lucky roach!
Yeah he's gettin that coffee for real
I did not know that!
C Sanders
Misty is so damn hot.
Bushmaster was a great villian, liked his performance and was very interested in him.
Way better than season 1 and Bushmaster hit the spot
Yes, vast improvements all around. The music has always been good, but the action, the pacing, the villains, all much better.
"Ai Am Da Rock!"
Loved the guy Piranha lol,,,,
He was hilarious!
Zaber Ansary Yeah I was like noooooo When I saw His head in the tank😂😂
He kinda reminded me of Chris Rock to be honest
His death upset me the most. Loved his character
Raven nah bushmaster reminded me more of Chris Rock lol. Like a more jacked version
Nicolas Bertin 13 episode seasons really isn't that bad. Yeah I hated shades in the first season, think Theo Rossi is a shit actor.
The guy can't convey emotions for shit. I mean the scene where he confesses everything was just weird... Smiling the whole time, still carrying that fake mobster attitude it's ridiculous... It was supposed to be his human moment and it was just nothing...
13 is way too long. It was such a drag to watch
Nicolas Bertin wow i completly agree with u
i actually like bush master a little more than kill monger. i found that he had a little more identity out side of his race while still being heavily connected to it. and i found my self actually routing for him as much as cage
Angus Wallace Bushmaster is way better than Killmonger. Killmonger literally wanted white genocide and didn’t even see his father die. Bushmaster saw his family burnt alive, met grandma Stokes who did it, then got shot in the stomach two years later.
Angus Wallace Right?!
Iron Fist was much better here than in the first season of his own show.
thats saying alot tbh..lets hope s2 of iron fist actually showcases his growth properly
I call it character growth.
I can see what they were going for I liked for the most point but I blame the showrunner
you tube/tracy
chapman
Great none spoiler review.. I'm excited to see what happens next with the Nightshade character, seeing the position that Cage is in now
Tilda gave Mariah the kiss of death.
Sand snake and cersei approves
+CHRISTIAN SAUNDERS Eh, considering it was Bushmaster's background that (at least partly) motivated Tilda to kill Mariah I would say he succeeded in getting revenge on Mariah, albeit indirectly. Still it would have been satisfying for Bushmaster to get the kill himself
rogvortex58 You know the irony is that Mariah was enjoying Jadakiss perform at Harlem's Paradise. One of Jadakiss albums is the Kiss of Death. Which is what Tilda did to her mom/cousin.
That ending got my head going crazy
Daniel Orton Same
What happened I didn’t get it
Derrick Pino yeah you would’ve had to be a Godfather buff to notice the reference. It’s an interesting situation they’ve left Luke Cage in....definitely after the Michael Corleone moment.
Yeah the ending left me kind of confused but it gives a really bad ass type of vibe for Season 3
I hated it
If Bushmaster is a villain.
Mind Yours
Bushmaster was very much justified in his vendetta to eradicate the Stokes and even then he showed kindness to Tilda. His methods are very violent and too permanent so he's more like an anti hero exactly like the Punisher. If circumstances were just slightly different he and Luke would make great friends powerful enough to protect and clean up both Harlem and Brooklyn.
Mind Yours Bushmaster was an Anti-Hero while Killmonger was a complete villain. Killmonger was planning all out genocide.
Except that Bushmaster left Luke for dead in the river... So no, he's not like Green Arrow.
Fanboyed when danny and luke were together, such a hero for higher tease ☺
I had hoped for more, but I explain what I think they were doing during the video.
Samuel Segun hire*
Best show best Marvel show on Netflix or T.V. Bushmaster was a great character edition and so was Ms Nightshade! Luke CAGE killing it. I hope Iron Fist season 2 is way better than that snooze fest season 1
This season was great especially the ending godfather Cage
SPOILERS
What i didn't see coming in this season was in episode 8 when Detective Tyler mentions Detective O'Riley from Cloak and Dagger and now we know where O'Riley used to work in New York before she moved to New Orleans so it seems that Detective O'Riley and Misty Knight were co-workers and part of the same precedent before she moved.
Cheo and his group fixed Danny Rand in one episode meanwhile Scott Buck couldn't fix Danny in 13 episodes
Guessing this takes place before the finger snap?
yes
VenomKitetsu I noticed that the trees in some scenes are yellow, orange and red which would suggest Fall and infinity war probably takes place close to when it was released irl plus it seemed to be spring/summer in infinity war. So I would guess this season takes place in Fall 2017
Kyle Latebeer they did it that during season one as well. It’s just for setting like the yellow is for setting that it’s in Harlem in the midday time and for cool effect.
until we find out otherwise I don't think marvel netflix will address that till daredevil season 3 or afterwards. They'll probably wait till Avengers 4 wraps up
Kyle Latebeer Luke Cage Season 2 is in the Fall of 2017, a couple months before Thor Ragnarok and episodes 11 to 15 of Agents Of SHIELD Season 5.
It was a little corny when he dabbed at the end of video.
Ross Geller is black if this would have drop last yr it would have looked cool as hell 😎
That just shows how Luke Cage is kind of out of touch , you forget he’s old school . So it wasn’t a big deal lol
erickiam25 agreed
Ross Geller is black bro luke cage IS black
Extremely 🌽
Browning Bros what were your thoughts on the power man and iron fist comic series that happened a while back and got cancelled way too soon??
Biggie Cheese which year? I read the latest one that started before the Iron Fist show as I had read plenty of DC comics but Marvel I kept skipping so decided to first couple of volumes of PM&IF
Browning Bros ...folks hated on danny bland's show cause he was garbage... THAT WAS THEN... He's improved. He'll never be comics Danny Rand...but he really HAS improved since defenders... And patty cake was DOPE
Browning Bros yeah exactly that one
Read ed brubaker's Immortal iron fist run. Its awesome
Netflix should just do a Heroes for Hire movie and blow their "wad" of cash in one Helluva spectacle!
Dude, actually a movie doesn´t sounds crazy. It may work :)
Maybe spoilers!
Mariah is now one of my favorite Marvel villains. I root for Bushmaster. And House of M crime boss Luke Cage FTW! 👊🏾
Yeah everything she said and did had me going. I either laughed at moments where at others I felt she was completely Savage lol. Her words had me going when she addressed people. On top of her being crazy ruthless.
You're insane. Mariah is the worst. With Shades, she was the biggest problem in Season 1. And they give us more of those in season 2 ? Awful...
Nicolas Bertin so you’re just going to dismiss her story arc and acting?
Nicolas Bertin Are u serious u obviously never read the comics she nailed black Mariah
I loved the easter egg of Coleen and Misty at the bar scene.
I loved how Coleen was like, “Go ahead and take care of this. It’s on you. I’ll just sit here for a while.” Doesn’t lift a finger for a while as Misty fights. I just loved that.
Next Stop Daredevil S3!!! :D
Hunter can’t wait!!
rumor says it’s Iron fist but we’ll see. I hope it is DD tho
When is the released date
Screw that Punisher S2
I miss matt
Bushmaster>>>>>>>>>>Killmonger
If imma be honest, I was rooting for Bushmaster the whole time! Great video Charlie!
I really loved Luke Cage Season 2. Same goes for the Daredevil and Jessica Jones Season 2. I am extremely excited for Daredevil Season 3. And yeah, I am excited for Iron Fist and The Punisher Season 2 as well.
Wish Netflix didn’t take away the star rating system, would’ve been been a 5⭐️ from me
blvckraikage Probably took it away to give everything a fair chance.
*SPOILERS*
I thought this season was pretty good, there was a lot of things to like in it.
They did a very slow build up of Bushmaster but by the time he hits his peak in my opinion was awesome.
Dem call me Bushmaster now!
Stokes. Mariah Stokes.
I love that they named a track off the soundtrack off that quote
Ibsy Harlem is mine.
Ibsy Dad its not Carl, Im Luke Cage!
My opinion, season 2 is better than season 1. What I can't wait for is Daredevil Season 3. Hype!!
luke cage season 2 is way better than season one and i love how Danny is so calm instead of how he was before with no hand to fight really cleared his mind
I really loved season 2 and the ending was insane. I’m hoping for a heroes for hire but only if Danny rocks the comic uniform tho. Cheers😈
I couldn’t truly believe any of the fights in this season, except for Bushmaster’s stuff XP
yes, greatly improved from season 1.
Subtitles helped me understand bushmaster so much
Literally uploaded just as I finished the last episode. Your the goat Charlie
Just finished binge watching the entire season 2. Episode 10 is my favorite episode.
Best Luke Cage season by far...I watched it all lastnight haven't slept yet.....Love Seeing Jada Kiss,Faith Evans,Rakim & KRS 1 get shine on it too The Music is always Amazing
Love your videos man, always informative and entertaining to watch you cover all things Marvel/Dc
thanks!
Vague Spoilers:
It seems like their going to go with "Power Corrupts...
I literally check my notifications every 30-60 minutes to see if you upload because your video's are all great. I love your channel!
Just finished watching it. Definitely an improvement over last season. I feel it was just as much Mariah's season as Luke's.
You are honestly the most intelligent and insightful RUclips reviewer I have ever watched (And I’ve watched a lot). Keep up the great work! Your channel and the “Weekly Planet “ podcast are the best things on the net
Charlies you are always Off the chain
thanks man! ✋
High Five
I Know I’m Not The Only One Who Wants To See Some *_Heroes For Hire_*
Hands down hail to the King :) Luke Cage accept no imitation true deep cuts the legend lives
The Sheriff of Harlem 💪
Your opening clip - that scene really was one of the best for me, and harked right back to the era of Blaxsploitation films with the styling and the music, that inspired the character in the first place. Great stuff!
this season is epic ! did the coffee joke start in jessica jones ?
Micheal Mcintyre Yep.
I never thought I would be watching a Netflix Marvel show and be 9 episodes into it wondering "Where the hell is the Iron Fist?"
1:37 "Having Coffee" with Night Nurse
The coffee thing all the way through was great. The old lady next door to cockroach. The cashier at the Russian mob place. The Italian mob boss. Everybody wants to have coffee with Luke.
He almost had an espresso later. Lol
mattmat74 I jumped out of my chair when they dropped "Cool Ruler" Gregory Isaacs classic reggae tune "Night Nurse" man!!! That came out in 1982!!! Great reference....... The entire soundtrack was dope as hell!!!!
(Black) Mariah Dillard... Oops.. Mariah Stokes! Alfre Woodard deserves an Emmy Award for this Season.
Definitely!
As long as Heroes For Hire doesn't go down the same path as the Defenders, we're good.
Loved season 2, was a lot better than season 1. The pacing, action and acting were a lot better. Love the show's take on Tilda, really liked her character development throughout the season. Bushmaster was no joke and same with Mariah!
Great season as good as the first. First time I liked Iron Fist. Loved Misty Knight.
The old lady siad..."Do you want some coffee?"LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m season 3 of Jessica jones and Luke cage I hope to see them get together becuase I love them as a couple and I really want them to have Danielle cage
A I concur...... The conflict they could have with those two together with the child would be a good script writer's dream!!!
Dan Snyder I know and I'm mad that they keep putting them together with characters I don't care about.
im not so sure, since i dont think cage has gotten over jones killing his wife
Zy'Mir Cook I know I love Rosario but she was barley in season 2 and in the finale like told her to go home
A You don't care about Claire?
I grew up in New York, The Bronx to be exact.
Hearing Bush Master and everyone else from his crew gave me a warm fuzzy feeling which brought back memories of my home town.
Nightshade was soooooo damn hot.
Charlie you’re like the one person on the internet to talk about this. THANK YOU. I’ve been waiting for someone to talk about it.
Season 2 was better than Season 1 IMO
Man this was great. Movies are so much better when villains have motivation. Bushmaster was a man amongst boys. He is one of my favorite MCU villains.
So exicited for daredevil season 3
Great season, they really stepped the writing game up. I laughed my ass off every time Bushmaster corrected someone on Mariahs last name. I might just rewatch it and turn it into a drinking game lol
Wayyyyy better than s1 .. iron fist episode was my favorite..! Definitely more heroes for hire !!
The old lady offering coffee was the best...
Awesome
Emergency, Awesome
ha
It's really great, definitely better than the first season. I was hoping a similar ending but I really didn't expect the showrunners really done it. Season 3 is definitely gonna be very intense.
Bushmaster is a very solid villain/antagonist, totally match with Luke Cage arguably one of the best villain in Marvel Netflix & MCU. I think he might be even better than Killmonger for someone with very similar journey.
As someone that don't use english as native language. I really suggest turning on that subtitles LOL
YEESSS!! This is great!
Man bushmaster was the shit. It was hard not to root for him and misty. Piranha was freaking hilarious btw.
Do a explanation of the finale
Next week, there are still a lot of people who haven't made it through the entire series yet. 👍
Bushmaster character was great and the actor did a really good job of portraying him and i loved the jamaican accent and language used in the season it was really good.
Charlie is our "Hero for Views" !!!!
The Coffee Jokes reached a new level this Season. The Coffee offer at Cockroach's house had me dying. the Look on Luke's face was Priceless.
They should make a Defender season 2 but Defenders season 2 subtitle should be heroes for hire
I like that idea! especially cause you technically have to hire Murdock as an attorney and Jessica as a P.I. so it makes sense in a way. Good call!
that's is a great idea and i think Kingpin should be the main villain and i think it should take place during Infinity War and deal with the aftermath and deal with the events of Avengers 4 which would make sense and we could see the Defenders point of view of the entire Infinity War and see who gets snapped out of existence and comes back after Thanos is defeated.
Bushmaster and Mariah were excellent. Loved the ambiguities of Luke at the end. Hoping season 3/iron fist 2 starts with the exploding of the club and Danny and Luke teaming up.
