    Unfortunately, we live in a crazy world where we must be responsible for our own health and safety. Tap Score is an amazing service that could legitimately save thousands of lives.

    I asked my local water company for a copy of their test result. After spending a half hour on the phone with no one seeming to know what I was talking about, they directed me to a website. But it didn’t have nearly as many results as yours do. Probably a good idea to test your own water because the governments asleep at the wheel.

      We did too. They're not very forthcoming because they don't have to be. Very concerned about zero accountability in these government agencies.

      Our local yocals pretended not to know what PFAS was. There's no mandated testing for this here.

    Florida probably has the worst water in the nation. Does tap score test for PFAS?

    • @GiveThemWell
      @GiveThemWell  2 года назад +2

      Tap Score does offer a separate PFAS test. We're doing that next - starting with our tap water.

    Great video. I have seen multiple claims that zero water does not remove disinfected byproducts well. However your test shows that it does do a good job, although not completely removing chloroform it still removed most of it. And removed all of the other one listed. Thank you for a thorough analysis

      Thanks! Since these tests are stupid expensive, we tried a gofundme a year or so but couldn't generate enough interest. Would LOVE to follow this up with more comprehensive testing!

    I have a feeling there is disastrous and dangerous water all over Florida, and DeSantis is looking the other way. In 2021, 30 different PFAS were found in Miami, Broward and Palm Beach tap water, with the highest concentrations detected in samples collected near the Miami International and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International airports. Makes sense due to the fire-fighting foam used during training sessions then washed into the ground or local waterways. PFAS were also detected in Biscayne Bay and nearby tributary canals. We're going to need to treat for this stuff. Definitely do the PFAS testing.

    I have a zero water pitcher. Just noticed the smell of chlorine coming from my Zero Water and thought to myself "wtf"
    Grabbed a glass and filled it with tap water and realized it was coming from my tap.
    Got another glass and filled it with the filtered water the chlorine smell was gone.
    Never realized how strong the smell of chlorine was until I started drinking from my Zero Water.

    • @FreshandFelicia
      @FreshandFelicia 7 месяцев назад +1

      Noticed the same exact thing. Now, just imagine all the other heavy metals, additives, and disinfectant byproducts that you can't smell or taste. That's the scary part! We have been triple filtering to make our filters last longer. We will use our Samsung refrigerator water filter, run that water through a Britta filter, and then pour the Britta water into the zero water. We get about three weeks out of our filters now.

      @@FreshandFelicia I didn't really think much of it because my tap water was at 55ppm which is decent for tap in my area, but yea you never know what makes up those PPM.

      Most water systems no longer use chlorine because it evaporates too quickly. They've switched to chloramines, which contain ammonia, that tend to stay in your tap water. Yuck!

    I prefilter the water with used zero water filters to extend the life of the new filter. Saving a substantial amount of money.

    • @admtim

      Don’t the used filters leach the pollution back into the water? The TDS on used filters can be 999+!

      It doesn’t really work. Once TDS start climbing, it goes up fast. I guess you could get a couple of days of extra use out of it, but it’s not really worth the effort imo. I often times end up changing the filter when the taste is off, water quality at that point is worse than tap anyway.

    • @GiveThemWell

      It's very close to 7. With proper nutrition, our bodies do a great job of correcting any imbalances. I'd rather drink slightly acidic water than ingest PFAS or heavy metals!
