I don't know if Messi or Neymar will stop Europe's dominance, but Argentina or Brazil certainly could.
Thank you, I hate when things are phrased around single players.
@@greatcesari well that’s because they’re more of the mascot of the team when someone mentions Neymar or Messi stopping other teams like the question here it’s more of their team then them single handedly doing it
@@greatcesari me too. especially when we talk about the elite teams of international football. i mean, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, italy, spain, portugal, france, holland, and england, were always up there and-probably- will be. even when they have a poor generation (talent-wise) with no big stars, they are still considered some of the strongest squads. Especially Brazil and argentina, were football giants before messi or neymar were born.players like them are super additions, but never indispensable 😉
@@thanospallidis5122 I get your point but that's not a good way of arguing it. Before Messi or Neymar were born, Argentina had Diego Maradona and Brazil had Pelé.
@@andrewface2355 While that might be true for Argentina( although They were a strong team after Maradona and before messi too ), Pele retired at 70s endind, and still brazil won the world cup twice and with other S-tier generations in between him and Neymar. Generally, all the 9 teams i think they belong in the Elite, they just don't have 1 golden generation every once in a while( Like Belgium) or 1-2 superstars among decent players to make a difference( Like Poland, Egypt, Ivory coast in the past, etc). The elite almost always produces world class players. Even a poor generation for their standards, it's still considered a strong team on paper. Messi, Christiano ronaldo, or Neymar look like a natural outcome to be 'products' of these countries to me.
I've never felt any rivalry between Europe and SA, I'm Italian and I love South American national teams.
Correct. Europeans are way more eager to beat other Europeans, and if their country is out, they as often end up cheering for a South American team as for an other European. no real rivalry
@@tomfuzer9885 it exists on paper if you compare stats but it doesnt in reality
Hello amigo i want to share my opinion i feel that in south América we want to beat you because of your long years dominance and because we feel that we love fútbol more to be honest and we desire to prove it , its the only thing that many kids have to dream here it mean so much to us that we think we deserved it idk if we hate europe (well in argentina we do hate germany and england) , by the way i dare to say that Italy its our favorite european team atleast in argentina
Me neither where I live its mostly Germany and Belgium if we were to ever play them.
Then probably Argentina in all fairness.
Personally I don't really care to much anyways, they played better and won, it's most important that it's enjoyable to watch.
This is so funny to me that all the Europeans are like “I have nothing against South America and I root for them sometimes!” And the Latinos are like “I would rather eat DIRT than watch a European win”. I’m Latin American and can confirm the rivalry but the knowledge that it’s one sided is just. So funny.
Now it's europe:12 south America: 10
12 vs 12
FIFA officially recognized that Uruguay has won 2 more World Cups in their FIFA Museum in Zurich and Qatar. Google it.

Great and educational video... As a 34-old Brazilian, I have seen the wins of 94, 2002 and the tragic defeats in between. I think we finally have a chance to do well again, our team is not super hyped like in previous cups, and that's when we shine.
Not super hyped? Imagine being favorites and not hyped
@@andersonkennedy8896 save zone? Brazil is literally the biggest favorite for this cup by everyone in the world including brazilians, i wodnt say that is a save zone.
@@martimrodrigues2391 everyone says we are the favorites every single time it only puts pressure on the team
Huh Brazil are the literarily the favourites to win the whole thing by quite a margin even I think there gonna win that squad is so good. Brazil are superhyped but I think it's justifiable
Germany was favorite in 2018 and Spain in 2014, so it really doesn't mean anything TBH. I feel like Brazil is really good but a little overhyped. I think European teams are still better.
It's time that South America won again! I am Asian and I am supporting South America this time (Brazil or Argentina)
I love how the real madrid vs barcelona was also a competition between the best of the two continents
The best attack of the south america in the MSN against the best of europe in BBC
Every position was a contest,
Mascherano alves, marcelo and danilo against ramos, alba, pepe and pique, casemiro agains busquets, It was incredible
Fun fact: the final between Brazil and Uruguay was not a final.
From Wikipedia: _Unlike in other editions of the tournament, which conclude with a one-off final, the 1950 winner was determined by a final group stage, where four teams played in a round-robin format. With Brazil topping the group, one point ahead of Uruguay going into the match, Uruguay needed a win while Brazil needed only to avoid defeat to become the world champions; neither of the other two teams, Spain and Sweden, could finish first. The match is often regarded as the de facto final of the 1950 World Cup_
It was the final match and it decided who won, that's a final
Wikipedia? C'mon 😂😂😂
@@ASAPHMARK Yeah, Wikipedia. Certainly not without faults, but one of the best objective sources on the internet as long as you don't use it as an academic reference 😂😂😂
Why did they do a final group stage instead of the current format?
I personally prefer South American Fútball. I just like it since I grew up with watching teams from South America play. And I also have Peruvian blood in me as well.
The key difference is there are atleast 5 to 6 possible contenders from Europe and ONLY 2 from South America....goes to show how much league football has contributed to Europe's success
So everything is about money dif? damm

Uruguay too
@@prakharsethi3979 No, Uruguay hadn't really a chance of winning it after 1950. Of course, I think, Uruguay reached since then three times the semi-finals, but it never looked strong enough to go all the way. Video idea: how do you think the November heat of Qatar will affect the teams? European teams I think might have difficulties when trying to adapt after coming from a rainy wet winter. While it's winter in Europe, Southern hemisphere experience summer heat and I theorize that Argentina, Uruguay, won't feel much difference in Qatar, even Australia cook eggs under the sun these days they'll feel at home basically. Also Arabian countries like Morocco, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia which are adapted to deserts, might have slight advantage, though, not much probably. We'll see
Most argentinean and Brazilian players play in Europe so everyone should be in the same condition
It’s a non factor. Germany 7-1 vs Brazil In BRAZIL during summer.

As long as the best African players decide to play for European countries, this Europe/South America dominance will last for sure a lot of decades from now. I even expect, like it already happened, that mainly European teams will win it and like every 4-5 WC, either Argentina or Brazil will win for South America.
As we already saw, Africance made 2 WC finals in a row, with mainly non French players. Also teams like England, Belgium and Netherlands have mainly African players as well. If those players play only for Europe, in like 20-30 years it might not be even a rivalry between the continents any more. But if they played for their born countries, than it could be possible in the next WC-s to have an African team to win WC. But when everybody is playing only for the money, don´t expect new powers in football(except if they come from Europe, like Croatia or Switzerland). It will still continue to be Europe´s top 10 countries + Brazil and Argentina.
I wonder where this "jogo bonito" thing comes from. We never say we have "jogo bonito" style or something like that as an expression. Maybe it comes from the phrase "this team plays beautifully", or "esse time joga bonito", which is something a Brazilian could say in reference to a good team.
We usually use the expression "art football" instead, "futebol arte".
Acho que é mais da época do Pelé essa expressão, talvez seja mais coisa de gringo também kkkk
Probably popularised by Nike ad campaigns
I'm Brazilian too and I don't recall ever hearing this expression here. I did some cursory research and its exact origins are disputed, but Pelé did use the phrase in his '77 autobiography.

Sorry, but Uruguay put South America in the map first.
They won two Olympic gold medals in the 1920's and later conquered two World Cups before Pelé.

So, you're telling me that, if Los Angeles had simply included football in the 1932 Olympics, the World Cup might not be a thing?
Well, no, I don't think this makes sense. With the growing popularity of football, I can guarantee that a global event like the World Cup would have been founded anyway, and it may have gone on to still become larger than the Olympics.
However, maybe, the Olympic tournament would have been seen as something equally important, so being crowned Olympic champions would have been synonymous with being World Cup champions

ARGENTINA!!
i feel argentina and brazil are looking good. argentina with 35 unbeaten matches and maradona somewhere in heaven (hopefully) helping them , the comparisons on messi melting away, and Messi winning first trophy with them against their rival , in their home turf, finally winning an international trophy, etc.... It would be a brilliant way for Messi to end his career and would definetly finally seal him probably as the best player ever, only matched by maradona , in my opinion yet Messi probably in longeivity of career and years in the top plus stats, out classes maradona in these ways. Messi assists, is a playmaker has freekick goals, can dribble and score, he can do almost everything offensively speaking and has more assists than the famous modric- casemiro and kroos trio, just by himself. These are ridiculous stats and most his assists are brilliant splits of the defense too. He can be in the debate for best assister, best freekick taker, best dribbler, best goal scorer, best all around player, best artist of the game so id say hes already top 3 in goat's with Pele and maradona, but if he wins the world cup he'd just be the best in history and deservedly and also by the things he's had to overcome, the criticism and comparisons, and with strength perseverence, and patience and grit, he's shown he's overcome these things too, no doubt he was a player of the epoque that only comes once every 30-40 years maybe, and he survived a lot of undeserved criticism, which silences the jealous haters and people wanting to make headlines, and proves whatmost of us always knew there was never any debate its Messi clear rigt now as the best player of our time, because of what ive mentioned he does it all, the other one just is a tap-in merchant, Messi is pure foootball, as i mentioned he can create game, and assist, dribble, not loose the ball, slalom through a couple defenders with each, has an otherworldly touch , and can score like an animal too.......... It would be a nice way to end his career, but hed still be for me the goat along with maradona even if he doesnt.
And then they lose against Saudi Arabia lol....
@@bibaboeba Well in my post there was illusion, hope and a some reasons to believe, and some facts to why i think Messi is either the goat or top 2, imho as a futbol fan and someone whos watched him do everything from scoring, to assiting, to slaloming pasts everyone hed like, to creating game to scoring freekicks, week in and week out. To scoring 700 plus goals with out being a cherry picker and having more assists than modric and kroos and casemiro combined. There wasn't bragging or overconfidence. But sure, make the opportunist joke. I hope they gather and make it past this stage. And find their balance, and keep their punch. We' will see! Japan gave the surprise too!!!!

Who is here after messi won the World cup
This rivalry is kinda unfair, 13 Europeans teams against 4 south Americans, and the leagues don't even compare in terms of investment and structure, in the 60s wen Brazil was at full power, the great players like Pelé remain mostly in their home countries, strengthening their own leagues, the Brazilian Cup in the 60s was one the best tournaments in the world.
Ok, ronaldo was not "negatively impacted" in 2006 because of their win in 02, the guy at that point had bilateral knee surgeries on top of a thyroid condition that made it difficult to maintain his physique. The fact that he was the world cup goal leader up until recent years should not be so easily glossed over.
Also, I get that these are supposed to be super quick recaps, but it's kind of deceiving to say Brazil suffered their worst lose ever 1-7 to Germany and not mention the fact that Germany savagely broke the back of Neymar during that game.
It was against Colombia where he broke his back. “Savagely broke his back”…surely you remember them holding his shirt up during the Anthems
Neymar was left out for that game because of the back injury sustained against Colombia

its very hard because these days players going to Europe at very young age because of money, nothing else. its very hard for south america to compete against europe now.
and that's the only reason.
Exactly. Money has destroyed not just South American Football, but African Football and even Eastern European Football. Look at how Eastern Europe has been completely hollowed out by Western Europe. At a young age, the best talent have been swept up by the richest teams in Europe and they stay there for their whole career, only ever representing their country for a few weeks every four years. That is no way to build a World Cup winning team. One might even argue the World Cup has lost its meaning as the best teams in the world are private clubs rather than nations. But that's where post-Cold-War capitalism has gotten us. The Cold War generations who witnessed Pele's Brazil will not recognise the world we now live in.

Pele also isn’t among the greatest footballers if we’re realistically speaking. He was around in the 1950s, football had evolved so much since that it’s not even comparable. People put pele in the goat discussion because out of respect for him, but he’s not actually in the top 5 real footballers know this. Maradona,Messi, ronaldo, Zidane are amongst the best to ever do it.
@@mvk-delta5423 germany might luckily have a better world cup record but overall has a football nation argentina is a better football nation and has certainly produced more world class players than germany in history so put that in ur pipe and smoke it
@@nicardochristie5991 you’re a fucking idiot 🤣🤣🤣. It’s clear you know nothing about football. Germany lucky? Yeah they where lucky when they smashed Brazil 7-1 & when they beat Argentina, France, Brazil & Portugal all in the same tournament without penalties being awarded and without winning on penalty shootout. What a lucky team eh? Argentina literally won this tournament with a penalty every match & winning on penalty shootouts in the quarter finals & final. Talk about luck. Germany is better then Argentina any decent casual know this. They have more goals scored then Argentina does in World Cup history. Germany is right behind Brazil in terms of total goals scored, and they’ve reached the most finals in World Cup history. Yes Argentina produced Messi & Maradona but football is a team sport. Germany is still better than Argentina in football history because they are superior in terms of goals, cups won & runner ups & encounters with eachother. Just look up Germany World Cup stats vs Argentina World Cup stats & that speaks for itself.
@@mvk-delta5423 Fact is that the best team in the World Cup with the best stats in the all-time table: wins, points, goals, titles, etc is Brazil, and Brazil is from South America. That makes South America's name at the Number 1 spot and top of the World Cup, no matter how much good players and teams have Europe, Brazil just put South America's name over Europe. And also Europe having more strong teams and players has disadvantage in the all time head to head world cup matches record against South America. Stats don't lie. Europe sometimes is overrated and South America underrated. All-time top 2 players by FIFA media are South Americans (Maradona & Pelé). Then Messi, joined the GOAT debate after winning the World Cup.
An African country winning would be so cool, the Euro dominance has been a bit ridiculous esp last one.
Japan Bro! Goku and the Z fighters got this
Brazil vs France/ Portugal Final
Weird way to spell Croatia Marroco
After Argentinas performance against Saudi: NO
Why do u include all of russia in europe?
They are in UEFA, did it by football federation.
The 2018 World Cup in Russia was all held in European cities. There was only one, I believe Yekaterinburg, that was right at the Urals (border between Europe and Asia). Russia is too big. If they have games in Siberia or even the Far East, then teams would have to change many time zones from game to game. They purposely held the World Cup in European Russia so there is no serious jet lag.
The Olympics was also for amateurs not professionals.
Brazil is favourite this time
i predict its gonna be a african team this time, maybe Senegal can do it with a bit of luck, btw last world cup the french team was 95% african so technically africa did win they just represented a european country
Are you for real bro 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bro what they are French
They are French when they win and immigrants when they lose
Based
True, European teams have a bunch of migrant players. Some Europe teams are more migrant than European lol like the France team
