@zxcts-ry4st stop getting Chelsea wrong. Paul Winstanley(Sporting Director) and Joe Shields(Director of Professional Football and Scout) are in charge of the football part. When it comes to a manager though this will be the owners final choice. Behdad Eghbali via Clearlake has a 61% majority so he is the final decision maker

ok my take is a bit different. I didn't want Poch to go but looking at it I think the agreement has always been to play possession football. Poch did so but it didn't work out because of poor finishing up top and so he went into what he ffelt would work and it did to be fair. As a Chelsea fan i was always at the edge of my seat even if we led by 3 - 0. The games were entertaining but chaotic and outscoring your opponent isn't sustainable. We'll see what Maresca does but the underlining thing is the owners want possession football and anything apart from that will lead him out the door.

One issue is higher calibre managers will likely have higher expectations, and so in turn they’ll avoid them. I think there resistance to humility and learning will hurt Chelsea a lot. They’ll bring in managers who (on paper at least) aren’t of the calibre they could otherwise look to, in order to secure the kind of manager who’ll see it as too good an opportunity to rock the boat.

When you consider some of the poor results that we had from games that we should’ve won (e.g. the Burnley and Sheffield draws), and the fact that we were only 5 points off of fourth. I don’t know if a top 4 finish was an unrealistic expectation. Although he turned it around at the end, there were so many missteps that hurt us.

  • @alexberry4350

I see Darragh is still trying to get a payout from a Toney sale.
    Some simple facts.
We could have lost nearly every game in our run in. If you watched the second half of the season it wasn't much different in performance, just more luck.
We lost the important games i.e. bottled the cup final and semi final and getting battered by Arsenal.
They want to use our 200 million pound midfielders, and the new manager's style fits for Enzo Fernandez.
Poch evidently was also comfortable leaving having salvaged his reputation.
Lets see how we go and see if the squad can stay fit. KTBFFH.

But you can’t do that to an experienced coach like Poch. He can’t build something and have someone pull it down by selling his key player. He took the job on the assumption that the sporting directors:owners know what they are doing. To want to sell Gallagher just tells us the don’t. A player who was captain for most of the season and played in pretty much all games. No. No solid coach will tolerate that. Because that was reported by idiots who haven't got a clue about Chelseas finances or even done the math.. we've never needed to sell academy players. It's just smart buisness to do that.. because let's just show you an example
Say we sold Gallagher for 50m that alone pays for Osimhens first year at the club. If you bought him for 150m and put him on a 5 year deal 300k a week. It's 45.6m / year, meaning we've actually still made 4.4m 😂
