This was a great interview. George Stromo has done a number of interviews with them through the years. That tiny pin that Alex is wearing is the order of Canada pin Rush received those honours awhile back. It is equivalent to being knighted in England. Looking forward to Geddy's book. It is called My Effen Life. LOL Cheers
Watching this I just think what the real meaning of friend is. From Geddy and Alex’s interactions, to their respect of Neil and his privacy during his illness. They were great band mates, great musicians, but best off all great people. Following Rush all these years, has always made me feel better about me and my fellow man. From a rock band! Who’d have thunk?
when they said back in the day sports personalities never took a stance on anything reminded me of that Norm joke about how it would have been nice to know at the time that the best athlete at the Olympics was actually a lady 😂
@@lizmelo5374 Cleveland, everyone loves that one. I like when they played it live for a high school auditorium, imagine going to school and RUSH is performing that day
Rory please do Alex arguing with his parents about his future, The was a film done when he was in high school before he was known , it was just by luck he was picked for the video as just another teen , Alex arguing with his parents on RUclips!
I think the music business is lacking . Because it's not so much of a challenge anymore. Anyone with a RUclips channel or Twitter or whatever can go on air and get popular whether it's good or not. And if you can carry a tune the computer can make the music. There isn't any going on the road and getting your name out there the hard way no record contracts to win . No mastery of instruments or over mastery where you cant mix with others bcuz all they know is their own instrument and dont know how to mix it with others that push and pull call and answer between instruments. You get on the computer and you get famous or you don't. It's not much of a challenge the way it used to be. And the challenge is what feeds the soul and the soul is what feeds the music. And I guess that's what it comes down to. The soul the souls and spirits are empty due to the lack of the challenge. And empty souls don't make good music. Good music is all about soul. And building the soul is all about the hard times the challenges of life. And most of this young generation don't have a clue about hard times and challenges. And rising to those challenges and overcoming those hard times. And turning it into something beautiful. And some don't even have parents that had hard times. So their forced to listen to older music for substance for soul. Joe Walsh said its all gone . The music business as we knew it is gone and so is the music. Pretty much anything after 2000 just don't quite cut it. Maybe its just cuz I'm older but the stats seem to agree. What did he say 75% of this generation is listening to our generation of music and older. Bcuz today's music just don't cut it.
