Thanks Rob! I picked up the 1st Edition from Team Covenant (it's still available). I'm starting Day 6, and my only complaint is the amount of errata. I spent quite a while printing out text and taping it on cards and in the campaing guide and rule book. I chose that route vs. looking up stuff online. EDIT: The mats look great, but I'm passing on them due to size. I've read it is a long reach to get to the top of the shared mat. I recommend measuring out your play area since the two mats will be 27" (68.58 CM) 'tall'. It looks like the Path and Challenge decks will be about one 1" (2.54 CM) from the top of the shared mat. Also, you need 47" (119.38 CM) in width if playing two-handed solo or with a friend on the same side of the table. For me, reaching ~26" (66.04 CM) is uncomfortable.
I feel pretty safe in backing this. I've watch you plan a bunch and played either tabletop simulator demo. Plus I like most customizable games and played a bunch of Arkham Horror LCG and Marvel Champions. Also them having a history of actually delivering the product helps.
Missed the live stream, but 3 hours later, the campaign has fully funded, and I made my pledge! I already own the core game, so I just went in for the expansions. Can't wait for your stream tonight!
I'm playing true solo on Day 27. Love almost everything about this game! No interest in Arkham, Marvel themes. LotR never sparked interest either. This game finally let me play those kinds of mechanics. I do wish the online Campaign Guide hid resolving information. Why didn't they do that? It's online, how hard could it be? Playermats - the originals were better (my opinion), check out Loquitur Gaming to see them and distance he zooms out to fit them all on camera. He plays solo 2-handed. Trail map - very cool. Adds interesting info. World book - beautiful! Tons of additional info on places, creatures, timeline. Think you might enjoy it. :) I rarely purchase add-ons (and never books), but this game really got me. I want to know everything! Wish I'd gotten original playermats. Already backed for Expansions Only Pledge, added Deluxe Tokens and Meeples. Thinking of adding Underground playermats. Wish they were double sided with Overworld on other side. The curant Overworld ones are just reprintings of the original German design though. Looking forward to watching more of your playthrough! See you there. :)
Same for me, and I hope other publishers take note of creating similar games with these mechanics but without the endless battling of other card games,
i realy liked lands of galzyr, but the only gripe i had was that it didnt have an over arching story and i kinda missed a true goal. Thats why i wil back earthborne rangers as it seems to have what i missed from galzyr. Great video!
This is my first time backing a crowdfunding where I've played the original game and so am properly invested... and December feels like such a long time away (I'm new to board gaming and the timelines are crazy to me). I was in the 700s of pledgees - had to sneak and get my wallet between meetings. I went fairly all in with expansions & wooden meeples and dice etc & one set of pewter figures... and sort of shocked myself, playmats... I bought all 4... why?? But hey... I'm solo and this is going to be 'my' LCG style game. Here for life!
Im kinda in the same situation as you,started ny journey with boardgames last year with Roll player adventures and backed oathsworn and iss vanguard at that time,so December seems like an eternity! I went for core game and all expansion, and I really want 2 playmats myself!
I ended up going for the all in game play bundle, minus the doubler box as I will mainly be playing solo. I love marvel champions and deck builders in general. From what I see in gameplay, this looks up my ally so I’m willing to take a plunge.

I personally prefer the black mat you use at the moment. Makes the cards easier to see and pop more

Is there any reason to get the map from the pledge if it comes in 1st print? Was there errata or something?
It's just a nicer version of the map. Kind of like an upgrade. Just a want, not a need. 😉
