Sorry about the sound on this video. My wireless mic quit working on one of the channels and I have to change the audio track from stereo to mono and I forgot to do it before I uploaded it
I know you have been doing this for a very long time... my electrical background is yelling to put a piece of good quality heat shrink and it will seal it up tight and you won't have any issues. Love the videos, safe travels.
Yeah, I bought assorted sizes of that heat shrink but by the time I get to a piece that's thick enough to go around my connector it's way too big and doesn't shrink up around the wires without burning or just being loose because those connectors are just so thick compared to the wire
It may look like the wire is burned, but the more likely cause is water intrusion and corrosion. People like to check circuits with a test light, and they stick it through the insulation on the wire. That leaves a hole for water to get in, and it stays in and 'burns' the copper away over time. You'll be chasing these kinds of wire failures all the time. No matter how well you think you have it sealed up, water will find its way in and you'll be doing it again in a year or two.
Yes. But no one has the harness. It's about 3.5 ft maybe 4 ft long. Three female bullet connectors on one side and three male bullet connectors on the other. Can't find it nowhere. I prefer to just have the factory harness
@@higb7 I like what you did there, but I personally would have just braided the three wires together and called it a day. The duct tape is going to collect and hold water. The plan for my trailer is to install waterproof junction boxes at the front, center and rear, make all connections inside the boxes, and use marine grade cable between them. I run the states of PA, MD , DE, VA, WV and DC, so corrosive winter moisture is definitely a problem for me.
It’s nice if you can sleep at the receiving location and not have to start your clock until 30 min before you want to leave for your next load. 15 min pretrip and a 15 minute unload looks good enough for a flatbed
Yes, I always try to sleep at the customer. Honestly I like the longer runs like I'm on now going to Montana. Today I got loaded south of Columbia and I didn't even make it to Nashville before I run out of hours. And I slept like 2 mi from the customer
Bound to have snow along your travel. I’m loading MT Friday heading to Orlando and going to be fighting it. Not sure if you know MT know requires you to carry tire chains in the winter, so make sure you have them onboard
@@troypardon4688 All the connectors on my truck are those bullet connectors but they're larger than the standard size you would buy at a parts store. I've tried Lowe's and auto parts stores and none of them fit. Only truck parts specialist had the right size but they're just the cheap blue ones that aren't watertight. But they'll work in a pinch
Thanks, I know what happened That expensive shitty mic is only working on one channel. I have to turn the audio track into a mono track or you're only hearing it on one channel. And I forgot to switch it while editing. 😡

Weather looking quite bad in your path to Montana. I used to live in Grand Forks, wind ain’t no joke up there. Safe travels Billy.
Supposed to be super cold and windy. Treat your fuel plenty!!
Hope wire thickness is right

I started at 3 AM. I like being on the road that time.
