I love that changes have been made to make sure PwP doesn't fall behind in style, but I would like the after game recap again, also I liked seeing artwork of the cards in opening hands. I recognize cards more by artwork than by name
@@artemoila1 I'm okay with like, alternate frames and full arts of cards, since if they're meta cards you'll end up knowing both artworks. But I'm assuming you despise the new Modern Horizons 2 artworks? The ones where it's just sketch art, so you can't see what you're looking at?
@@spencerstanley4759 alternate frames are fine, as long as the artwork is visible. I don't like the new sketch artworks for two reasons actually. The important one is the one we are talking about but I just like the colorful art anyway, personally
@@artemoila1 I agree fully, like the alternate lotus cobra from zendikar rising for that exact reason.it's pretty and hypnotic. I actually liked all of the zendikar alters because of the sharp corners of the frame.
Congratulations for Folger for the win. He manage to stay vigilance amidst the heavy stack and disruptive piece in the boards and keep constant pressure with Najeela ability to threaten the boards with army of soldiers. The most valuable cards is without question the Storm Cauldron. The tax of returning lands everytime you tap it for mana manage to slow the boards heavily and stop many strategy to storm off.
Easily couldve at 6:50 if he wouldve searched a field of the dead with expedition map. Instead he much later tutors an inventors fair... :/ disappointing..
I literally am on this channel like crack, this content is the best when it comes to cEDH. The production value and voiceover is miles ahead of your rivals. Keep doing what you do
Here's my feedback to the changes: Love the new intro, the production quality is great and the music is honestly better than what you have always used in your videos PLEASE make all 7 cards in a player's hand readable. This was a problem in your older videos too; watching this channel introduced me to a lot of cards I had never seen before, so being able to actually read what they do when seeing a player's opening hand is vital. While I would prefer to keep the discussion of the Most Valuable Card and Most Valuable Player, I don't think its absence was too missed for me. Definitely keep the statistics slide at the end of the video, I love it! Overall I'm really digging these changes to the show, I would just highly, highly recommend going back to showing the textboxes of all 7 cards in an opening hand
Absolutely love the changes at the beginning and the end! However, some aspects I think you can improve upon is displaying the opening hands and omitting the analysis. In the opening hands sections, the cards overlap similarly to the way they did in your first few episodes. In the conclusion, I miss the game analysis, MVP, MVC, etc. other than that, this was one of the most fun PWP videos I’ve seen in a while. Awesome stuff!
@@evanczthehunter57 One may think, but you also gotta realize that Edric drew the winning player so many cards that game. There's no way it wasn't a huge help.
If you are tapping mana to cast a spell (e.g morphic pool + sol ring for toxic deluge) the cauldron trigger doesn't go onto the stack until you are done paying the cost for that spell and it's already on the stack. Good game, but something to keep in mind /w storm cauldron/silence in the future!
It deoends on if the caster announces the spell though, doesn't it? If he just preemptively taps his lands so that he can replay it after and have mana open for interaction for example, it would play out like this scenario. Obviously not getting full context in the video, otherwise what you are saying is correct.
Love the new style! But I'll echo a couple sentiments posted by others: having the cards in the opening hand stacked can make it more difficult to follow. I don't know all of the cards by heart and will often pause the opening hands to read cards I'm unfamiliar with, which now sorta requires going to another site. The recap was also pretty cozy.
This is the best cEDH game I’ve seen in a long time. Perfect timing with answers when different players tried to pop off, some lesser played cards shining (looking at you, Storm Cauldron) and a very tight finish. I miss the end game narration but we all know Edric was the MVP!
I understand that retention rates on the post game wrap up weren't great, but maybe you can still include MVP and MVC on the game results screen. Overall liking the increased production value!
When I first started watching commander content I didn't like this channel but now that I'm more comfortable with the format and want to actually be a competent deck builder, this channel has become much more interesting for me.
Amazing game!! Clicked as early as possible seeing different commanders and loved that the 4 decks where doing their stuff (of course some more than others). Loved even more that it wasn't Thoracle. And lastly, loved how it was a different game because of the 5cmc Artifact.
Proxy proxy proxy. I own lots of reserved list stuff from years of playing legacy, but unless you plan on taking part in sanctioned tournaments there is absolutely no reasons to support the reserved list by paying for these cards. Any self respectibg cedh playgroup should encourage proxy usage.
Changes are great for opening the channel to options like Legacy and Vintage play: which maintain the "most powerful cards in the most powerful formats" motiff. Significantly cleaner, without reducing the production value that defines the channel.
I must say i liked the side by side view of the hand better, made it easier to see what the starting hands were HOWEVER, the addition of the mat/sleeve type was a touch i was not expecting but appreciate
The change to the intro was destined to happen and it’s a cool touch to have the opening hands displayed in sort of a 3D style view! You guys provide top notch CEDH content and you’re a growing. As always keep up the excellent work!
Love the new video production and logo design. The two things that were missing for me were when the opening hand was displayed and the missing post game recap. For the opening hand, it's a lot harder to read the card with them angled like this.
He floated the mana before announcing his intent to cast Toxic Deluge. This is one of those extremely rare cases where the mechanics of casting a spell actually mattered.
@@Frommerman Noone responded to the sol ring, it was cast using nonland sources and resolved. The response was to a cauldron trigger when floating mana prior to casting deluge.
@@Frommerman He could, because the silence was in response to the Cauldron trigger (to make him bounce a land for nothing). He could, instead, have announced "I'm casting toxic deluge, paying these costs" and it would have worked.
@@r3dmanMIC That is just bad manners in my eyes. I get that it technically matters, but still. Such a small technicality, especially since he had the opportunity to respond when Sol Ring was cast. The only thing someone can learn from this is to announce casting your spell before paying costs.

OMG these NEW animations for the splash screen are EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep it going! You folks are great! is there ever going to be a female player? That would be neat!
I really love the new opening, I just miss the epic music at the start :) Since I was never really a "watching the wrap up"-person, I wont miss it too much, except for the MVP card, maybe. I think it might be good, if you could for example give a shout out to sth special like in this cards the amount of cards drawn with Edric.
Great new style! Have to agree with some of what was mentioned before, kind of miss the post-game, but to me the most important is that the opening hands / deck introduction now take longer and are actually less clear than before. Your previous version was something I liked a lot about this channel. Maybe the animations can be sped up and the cards shown next to eachother again?
Stephen would've been able to cast the Toxic Deluge... If you say you want to cast something you can cast it, tap all your stuff for the mana and only when the thing you're casting goes onto the stack, all triggered abillities follow. It all depends on how you announce it, but even in a tournament a judge would very likely rule in your favor, even if you said "i tap the land for black" first, as you can take back any mana-abillity and the intention to cast the spell is obvious. (Might be different on high-stakes tournaments, tho :D)
Storm cauldron is one of those cases where it significantly hurt 2 decks more than it did the other. It's such a risk because even though the deck can leverage it I feel like it really helped najeela while additionally slowing down the other 2 decks which really didn't work in anyone's favor but najeela
6:50 Zack could've used expedition map in response to the remaining Kodama triggers, fetched a field of the dead to his hand, cheated it to field with kodama trigger, then looped oboro, generating infinite zombies... been looking at kodama/silas pairing lately...
