    Jeff , I made one almost exactly like the one you put together. It is wonderful and I can’t wait for it to get cool enough to use. Also I need to get over my knee replacement surgery before I use it. Instead of a grill on the top like you made I am putting a plate for a grill.

    The top needs to be taller so the flame doesn't ride so high, this is a stove so you want the heat not the flame! I'm gonna build a few of these for Asia where they cook outside under a roof to keep from heating-up the house! And IMO these little rocket stoves are the absolute perfect design for that! Wood burns fast and hot and that way when the food is fully cooked and done so is the wood. Can't beat that for a little wood burning cook stove!

    • @geraldsilveira8369
      @geraldsilveira8369 Год назад +1

      Could've done without the upper feeder as air is pulling through. Hinge cover would definitely help, forcing the airflow in from the bottom. Made several out of wood.

    • @peterm.eggers520
      @peterm.eggers520 Год назад +1

      @@geraldsilveira8369 The upper feeder creates a gravity feed. That cuts down considerably on fiddling with fuel when you are trying to cook.

    Ya don't need a torch, ya need a large grinder and a ceramic blade made for cutting thick steel. I used one to cut up a old ceramic coated thick steel bath-tub and in three pieces each piece weighed about 100 lbs and it cut that like butter! And that tub was thicker than this steel tubing!

    I'm FAR more concerned with hearing protection. I mean it 'could' shatter the disk, which 'might' make it to your face, which the glasses 'may not' protect you from. However, that screaming steel cutting will Definitely damage your ears. My Dad is practically deaf now, just from never wearing any hearing protection while doing stuff like this.
    But hey, awesome stove! I'd make one if I had a big chunk of 4" box.
    [Edit] I see that he later at least put some kind of music ear buds in, but still...
