+JAYKEEOUT I think the area and locale matters a lot. Co-Ex is a pretty bougie neighborhood in Korea. I think it's fair to suggest that economic differences lead to differential outcomes in speaking English for Koreans. If you have better access to education you probably speak better. I wonder if people in areas like Jeju Island or even like Daejeon or Busan would speak equal levels of English as do people in Apgujeongdong or Chungdamdong
+noah9100 Actually Korean can speak English but most of old Korean can't speak English well compare to with young people because when they learned English they focused to memorized grammar and vocabulary. they had less opportunity to develop their speaking skills than young Korean.
Karaleigh Loya lol depends where you live, in small towns like the one I live in everyone is pretty helpful when it comes to directions or stuff like that and will start small talk 😂
Koreans are super friendly and polite so I'm not saying this to take away from that, but a big part of the reason a lot of them offered to walk him there is because trying to explain complex directions in English was too difficult for some. It was just easier to walk him there.
That's great. You found so many korean that speak english. I was not so lucky tho. When I was in seoul and trying to ask people in english, I got ignored.. A lot! But I was so deeply moved when an old man trying so hard to understand me eventhough he doesn't understand english. Love korean!
lmao when I lived in Seoul, I was try to communicate in Korean and people ALWAYS responded back in Japanese. I asked my friend why they keep doing that and he said it was because my hair was blond lol
The good thing is, they don't only tell you the direction but they also try to take you there. I have no doubt now that Korean people are one of the kindest ppl i've ever met.
+Oumeima tuan I'm Korean, I think most of Korean might think explaining the direction is too hard to us even me. So, I thought myself taking them to their destination is easier than explaining about it! lol Yeah, Anyway, Korean are very kind even in rush hour!

XOXOcel i think thats asians habit... i couple times went to europe/asia/america... i think, for them... attitude is important especially to stranger, my asian friend said they naturally dont want to be rude to foreigns... cuz they know foreign are struggling a lot with direction and stuff ^^
See, this is a good social experiment. Entertaining, funny, actually teaches you a little bit (everyone commenting how Koreans seem nice) and still respectful and ethical - not outright offensive like that Muslim vs Christian extremism prank. Thank you, I actually learnt that "social experiments" can be good to watch. EDIT I am not saying anything about Muslims or Christians at all, I am commenting on how much better this video is than a certain video comparing and disrespecting both the Muslim and Christian religions. No offense meant to anyone.
+DatBoy Camani Hahaha who told you that Muslims treat Christians in a bad way ! You better learn before saying such a thing ! Seeing some bad Muslims does not mean that all Muslims are bad
+Yosr Rah ? I'm talking about the pranks that pertain to those two religions. But I don't want to go too deep into that subject on the probability that it may start a RUclips war.
+DatBoy Camani So pranks does not mean that all Muslims are bad ! And if you don't want a RUclips war why to comment such a thing ! Anyone who reads this he will get angry !
This was actually pretty cool to watch. I have many many Korean friends that I've made and my Korean isn't the best but I know enough to make it by and hold a decent conversation. But I've noticed even if my friends barely speak English they'll make the effort to better help me understand. I truly appreciate the kindness I've received
Oh God! same with me. They will always swing their arm around like an idiot, just to make me understand what they're talking 'bout. Its funny to watch them try so hard and I would just nod at whatever they said with their broken English. Thats was fun doe.😂😂
The most interesting thing I've seen here is that most Koreans are kind enough to accompany you to the place where you want to go instead of telling you how to get there. That's soo niiice 😇
Korean people are lovely! I went to Seoul last summer, and everybody offered us help when we were looking at the subway map, even If we didn't ask for help xD People aproach to us, and speak to us in English "Do you guys need help? Where are you going?" and even If we know where to go, they try to help us more, and a lot of times they take us to the correct platform in the subway and wait with us for the train to come to be sure that we don't get lost, so cute!! Also I was so lost looking for my hotel without GPS, so I ask in my poor korean to a guy in his store. The lovely man CLOSED his store and take me walking to my hotel!!! Love korean people, they are very kind
The last interaction was best, but notice how he says around 5'24 "any bank, mo shinhan, woori..." mo=뭐 which is korean and in this context means "well like shinhan woori..." :)
서정진 yes I encounter it too often and watching this video I see that Koreans understand English words better then most English people they're also on the other side of the planet and speak it better then french, dutch, ect which is also equally as sad
+spong mongler most of dutch people speak English really well!! true not the best grammar and pronunciation but we all have to learn English, French and German at school. i'm actually surprised you mentioned Dutch people, do you have any experience with that? ( i don't mean to be rude or anything, i'm just curious:) )
Dina Ata I've had many experiences where dutch people (mostly because I tend to run into them the most) don't understand any of the words I can say "I'm hungry" for example and they'd say "that's not the right answer" which makes no sense whatsoever but it is probably just the types of people I get stuck with sorry for the confusion
Marshall Cross they're like trying hard to speak English then like when he tells them he can speak Korean they be like "why didn't u tell me earlier OMG...I feel so betrayed right now" hahah maybe tho...might be just me thinking that
I can honestly say that Koreans are some of the nicest people I've ever met. I travelled there recently and stayed in Seoul. I had no problems getting around as most people spoke some degree of English in Seoul. Anytime I was lost or unsure of the correct directions, there were always people there ready and willing to assist. Some even offered to walk with me to my location.
Honestly, from what i've observed, most Koreans are so helpful. I went to seoul 2 yrs ago and saw it myself. If you're lost you can just randomly ask them for directions, and they would actually help you. Sometimes, they would even walk or guide you to the right direction. Some would actually speak to you in Korean with hand gestures and try their best for you to understand what theyre trying to say despite the language barrier. 😭❤️
I lived in Korea and I have to say that most young Koreans do speak English pretty well! Compared to Chinese or Japanese people, it is really good haha
Really depends where in each country. I find it is pretty similar in those countries. Japan is pretty up there in proficiency. But this opinion is also biased per person, so it's not necessarily good to make your opinion sound like it's almost a fact. xD
sad alien I feel the feel I'm Asian and me and my family went to Mexico for vacation and we ask where the place to the bus so they can drive us to the resort is and they walk away like we're weirdo what the hell IM hoping to go to Korea but when I went to Chicago and went to Korean town barbecue ect the server was so sweet and a lot of Korean help us out because we had a big family a lot of little kid too hehe Korean people see so nice I hope to go to Korea some reason
@@willahn4955 It's hard to be nice English speaker with Korea's English education system Korean students' English reading skill is brilliant But they are not good at having a conversation in English haha
haha I would try it again farther from Gangnam/Jamsil :) I think if you were by Sindorim or Yeuido there may be a little bit of a difference :) I lived in Guemchoen and finding english speakers was more difficult! (I did notice that the 20-30 age group had the best grasp of English though! :) )
koreans really are kind to tourist :) still remember when i went there, i asked for directions, and they're all did exactly like in these video. anyway, once again, nice video, jaykeeout. i always enjoy watching your videos. ^^
that is sometimes a misconception about koreans, chinese, japanese and shall I say some of the asian countries ..people really think of us like we don't understand and know how to speak the language .. But we really do 😂😂 thank you for making this video
I am not saying this because i am Korean, but i think Koreans speak better English than others. I've actually been to China and Japan, and most of the people didn't know how to speak ENG. When I went to WEMUN, Chinese people wasn't able to understand what chair was saying.
+BigLizMac actually Koreans tend to be better at English because the education system pushes English education more on children. For instance, Japan puts less emphasis on learning English as a foreign language, so the students tend to be poorer English users. Your example with coffee being pronounced kuppi in Korean would be pronounced as kohee and you tell me which is easier to understand. As with Chinese students, the socioeconomic class of the student dictates their fluency with English because China is technically in a developing stage. Older generations will not necessarily have had the opportunity to learn English and younger generations have opportunity depending on background.
+BigLizMac it's really a matter of historical need. Japan doesn't have to push English as heavily as Korea because it's post war reconstruction period was not as heavily transformative as korea's. Korean education pushed English because it needed western allies to put pressure on Japan and China to stop bullying Korea into unfavorable political policies. This can be the mentality in a lot of parents pushing English education on their children. A large amount of my friends in Korea are completely fluent in English with good accent because of how heavily their parents pushed them to study hard and use the knowledge to help the country
Again, I really have to assert that it isn't a "nationwide thing" for Chinese and Japanese thing either so I really don't see your point. Additionally as an expat, I really have doubts about your "nationwide" experience with both Chinese and Japanese nor the cultural intimacy you share with East Asians in general.
most of the Koreans in Korea, speak english really well, even with english accent (based on my experience when I was having my vacation there). they even know how to speak speak chinese & some in malay language (my mother tongue)!
+omg liy yes. most of them u can see at Myeongdong, the street seller (do we call them that? sorry). When they saw me they will ask whether Im Malaysian n spoke in Malay fluently.Maybe bcz off many tourists from China and Malaysia, Indonesia, they r able to speak well in those languages .I also met wh Koreans who studied n speak Indonesian once.
Brah when I was lost in korea no one spoke English around me XD so I legit struggled with my Korean...and when that didn't work I just used google translate
Such a good experiment! It calms me down, because I'm from Germany and I plan to spend 4 weeks in South Korea in August with my best friend, and we are trying to learn korean, but I don't think we are talking this good to communicate 😂 Good to see, that we don't have to be afraid to speak english 😊
He has a good sense to find people who can actually speak English though xD I can't help to think that maybe they were nice because he's asian. Like, I wonder how would react with a real foreign person, like if they would pretend not to speak the lenguage.
I currently live in Korea and can vouch that most Koreans will help you regardless of whether or not they speak english. Usually they actually want to talk to a foreigner in English because they want to practice it. If they don't speak it, usually they will try to use body language to help me, or direct me to a worker, or friend who speaks it. They're very nice people :)
I remember back when I was a kid, some white guy needed help communicating with someone and my mom started speaking Engish fluently. I didn't even know that she can speak English lol (This was before I moved to the states) lol my face was like :O
This is such a nice portrayal of Korean people. For example how many of them went out of their way to help you even though they probably had other things to be doing 💕
Where do you live? Anywhere in the United States, strangers will talk with you; even the most tattooed and pierced strangers will engage in conversation when approached. (and not trying to sell something)
xthatwhiteguyx Im german and here you don't even greet germans. Besides elders, they will just talk with anyone. (Mostly young goodlooking girls and boys)
you dont really have to be fluent so that you can communicate. sometimes its ok if the thought is there. i want to learn korean though. its hard to watch korean dramas or movie if the subs arent out yet
No matter they can speak English or not I have noticed they always try to help if you ask for help. Specially directions. I have experienced this in Korea. I think Koreans are so kind and friendly!
I don't get WHY some people here get mad and go all like "they in kurrea, so they speak kurrean, why would they need to speak englush in kurrea, when they r kurreen", b*tch he literally said it at the start of the video, why he did it. tone down the attitude lol wtf
Koreans are the nicest. They always try their best even if they don't speak English that well, and even offer to go with you instead of giving you directions. i miss everything about Korea, but the people were by far my favourite thing about staying there. can't wait to go back next summer
Lol koreans are familiar with english cuz its a second language meaning their schools have english classes. I think the asian country with the best english based on general proficiency would be the phillipines.
I love google Well, Singapore is obvious because that's one of the main languages. But we're talking like other countries which are not at all acquainted with English.
So based on this video, not only are koreans able to successfully and efficiently communicate in english, but they are also very kind and helpful. I love how some of them were willing to walk you to the place you wanted to get to. If you were to do that experiment here in America, you would probably get mugged
lots of them are surprisingly good at their English. I used to think Koreans are not pretty good in speaking English too. maybe because i saw many Korean entertainer don't speak English. Media creates opinion I think that's why foreigner think Korean doesn't speak English. this social experiment took us to look closer to the reality of what happen in the field. nice video :)
i dont know what im doing here but koreans are really sweet and polite, XD the way they talked and did not ignore when he asked, i found it sweet idk.. i dont see that sort of treatment everywhere
Dude, go to Namdaemun or Insadong. Or to a local street market. It's tough to find someone who will speak in English. Looks like you went to Coex mall.
I have the biggest crush on this dude I swear. The first video that I have watched was his talking to kids for direction and I immediately fell ❤️ Keep up the good content 😊
practice makes perfect! yet nobody's perfect, so why practice?. .oh I'm just kidding!.. but kidding aside, you do know how to compose English at written, so that's a great start, all you have to do is to speak it out and it'll get better. #fighting
A lot of Korean students go to Australia to learn English instead of going to the US or Canada since it is closer. A lot of big companies, like samsung etc, ask for proficient English speaking skills (or overseas study experience) when they interviewe applicants. So many Korean students will go to one of the English speaking countries to learn English, even if that means their graduation is delayed or accrue a lot of debt. they all think it is an investment to get into a good job. Koreans are beyond aggressive in terms of preparing themselves to reach higher social status by obtaining well paid jobs etc. it is quite extreme but they are really geared that way. it is a cultural thing.
If you don't get into one of the three big universities, you'll have a hard time finding a job after uni. Because of that, many Koreans that didn't get into one of the big three universities study abroad and Australia is pretty close. They might also do a work and travel visa thingy and I think you can't do those in the US.
I ve been to korea and most of the younger people understand english very well but they re unsecure to speak it..but older and younger people were both so nice and every single person I asked for help there did their best..I went solo and I though korean people were really friendly and willing to help..I wish I d go back soon
as an English speaker from England I don't understand why would another country not English would have to know English, however as I don't know a word of Korean and I plan to go next year this makes me feel better. My experience the English never learn others languages hahah
Fari because United states, Australia, New zeland(?). and your fucking country are the biggest economist, so the rest of the people must know english to make bussiness and travel to other country
Cesar Alejandro Peñaranda first of all take a chill pill, and that was IN south Korea, where business is conducted in S.Korean, and like my brother had to learn. Also if you're talking about fastest biggest economies, China and India. Chinese is being touted as one of the most useful languages to learn. Europe is old news
Fari jajaja. 😂😂😂 you can see how extended is chinese ... oficially in china. india's economist grows faster ... but there are like... I don't know they speak many languages the same in china... and if you don't know in the mayority of countries their schols teachs english like second language ... just bacause like I said united states, uk and other speaks english
Cesar Alejandro Peñaranda I don't even understand your point. people in UK are learning Chinese, mandarin, to have better opportunities in the future as that's where growth is fast. In India the official languages are Hindi and English.
Fari Why do you not understand other countries are expected to speak English? It's the unofficial GLOBAL language. Do you think people just stare at each other at the UN? I'm Korean but even I understand why learning English is an objective in most non-English speaking countries.
I don’t know if I just have luck but on my recent visit to Seoul when I got lost I was trying to talk people on English and even sometimes they don’t speak it so well they try to help me! On a subway station there were a older ahjussi that was so gentle and kind... I really love Korea because of this.
koreans living in seol are really nice they always take you to your train if you ask a direction in the subway, I love seol people, unfortunately we cannot apply this thing to other cities
Are they really bad? I think NOT 😎

Don't worry too much. It's probably just a misinterpretation. Y'know, that happens a lot. :)

The most interesting thing I've seen here is that most Koreans are kind enough to accompany you to the place where you want to go instead of telling you how to get there. That's soo niiice 😇
Nathan Harmon
Nathan Harmon
Nathan Harmon totally agree with you
Thank you so much. Have a nice day~^^

Red Ivy omy so nice!!
Red Ivy because your so pretty
That's incredible! Thank you for sharing :D
Only because you're white though. Nothing against you but they are actually quite racist.
Brooke Pugh If you were a black lady no one would have help you
Everyone was so friendly and willing to help. So much respect for them :')
The last interaction was best, but notice how he says around 5'24 "any bank, mo shinhan, woori..." mo=뭐 which is korean and in this context means "well like shinhan woori..." :)
+Daniel Kim hahhaah you got me there!
I noticed this too😂
+Daniel Kim they most likely wouldn't notice, because they would just process the word like we do in english
and the way he pronounced woori was too Korean haha
Chloe Jay exactly
"How long would it take? 5 minutes? 3? 2? 5? 1? 10 seconds? " Lool 😂 😂
Lol o.o she was like...'wtf!! Give me a second to answer!!! Well i cant even breathe!!' Hahahah :p
Kwon Daniel. hahaha yes it was a hilarious moment!!!
it's very sad when a Korean knows English better then an English person
lol really?
서정진
yes
I encounter it too often and watching this video I see that Koreans understand English words better then most English people
they're also on the other side of the planet and speak it better then french, dutch, ect which is also equally as sad
+spong mongler most of dutch people speak English really well!! true not the best grammar and pronunciation but we all have to learn English, French and German at school. i'm actually surprised you mentioned Dutch people, do you have any experience with that? ( i don't mean to be rude or anything, i'm just curious:) )
Boy bye
Dina Ata
I've had many experiences where dutch people (mostly because I tend to run into them the most) don't understand any of the words
I can say "I'm hungry" for example and they'd say "that's not the right answer" which makes no sense whatsoever but it is probably just the types of people I get stuck with sorry for the confusion
KIM CHI
the faces of betrayal when u tell them u can speak Korean hahah
hahaha
Marshall Cross they're like trying hard to speak English then like when he tells them he can speak Korean they be like "why didn't u tell me earlier OMG...I feel so betrayed right now" hahah maybe tho...might be just me thinking that
Elle Goh exactly hahaha
YEAH HAHAHA
The mom's reaction when he said there was a camera 😂😂
I can honestly say that Koreans are some of the nicest people I've ever met. I travelled there recently and stayed in Seoul. I had no problems getting around as most people spoke some degree of English in Seoul. Anytime I was lost or unsure of the correct directions, there were always people there ready and willing to assist. Some even offered to walk with me to my location.
these videos are so cute

LOL at that awkward moment he approached that lady that ignored him LOOOL
LOL "okay byeeee"
he played it off well though 8)
she's really focused and he's speaking in a language she doesn't understand, it's normal.
i would've started crying lmao so embarassing
I loved that the music stopped suddenly at that moment. I couldn't help but laugh at the awkwardness of it all.
It’s a good experiment but I would like to see if they would be willing to help a non Asian person
I am sharing my experience, If they know the way, they will help else they will say No. They do help everyone regardless of Nationality
Then go and see by yourself
haha don`t worry we love more than non asian
belive me! kk
savewinwin2k18 are there a lot of racist in Korea?
@@Crouton- yes, exactly, especially for black people
I lived in Korea and I have to say that most young Koreans do speak English pretty well! Compared to Chinese or Japanese people, it is really good haha
Oh are you sure?
Really depends where in each country. I find it is pretty similar in those countries. Japan is pretty up there in proficiency. But this opinion is also biased per person, so it's not necessarily good to make your opinion sound like it's almost a fact. xD
this video only proovs Koreans are generally nice people
I love how korean people take you to the places :) they are so kind! Spanish people hardly ever do it :(
sad alien I feel the feel I'm Asian and me and my family went to Mexico for vacation and we ask where the place to the bus so they can drive us to the resort is and they walk away like we're weirdo what the hell IM hoping to go to Korea but when I went to Chicago and went to Korean town barbecue ect the server was so sweet and a lot of Korean help us out because we had a big family a lot of little kid too hehe Korean people see so nice I hope to go to Korea some reason

@@willahn4955 It's hard to be nice English speaker with Korea's English education system

haha I would try it again farther from Gangnam/Jamsil :) I think if you were by Sindorim or Yeuido there may be a little bit of a difference :) I lived in Guemchoen and finding english speakers was more difficult! (I did notice that the 20-30 age group had the best grasp of English though! :) )
Or up in the 60-70 age group. They suffered the Korean War and had quite interactions with American Army.
koreans really are kind to tourist :) still remember when i went there, i asked for directions, and they're all did exactly like in these video.
anyway, once again, nice video, jaykeeout. i always enjoy watching your videos. ^^
+clockout totally agree with you. Even though they couldn't speak english, they will try to help you.
The Australian girl doh
Her: “and you don’t know the way?”
Me: “nope only de wae”
I remember Dewey 😂
No. Stop.
Dead meme skskskks
that is sometimes a misconception about koreans, chinese, japanese and shall I say some of the asian countries ..people really think of us like we don't understand and know how to speak the language .. But we really do 😂😂 thank you for making this video
***** independent korea
Additionally as an expat, I really have doubts about your "nationwide" experience with both Chinese and Japanese nor the cultural intimacy you share with East Asians in general.
most of the Koreans in Korea, speak english really well, even with english accent (based on my experience when I was having my vacation there). they even know how to speak speak chinese & some in malay language (my mother tongue)!
hey starlight XD
뭐라고 kekekeke.
+Zika Xiah hongbin♡
+omg liy yes. most of them u can see at Myeongdong, the street seller (do we call them that? sorry). When they saw me they will ask whether Im Malaysian n spoke in Malay fluently.Maybe bcz off many tourists from China and Malaysia, Indonesia, they r able to speak well in those languages .I also met wh Koreans who studied n speak Indonesian once.
+연지 yes!
A lot of Koreans have lived in Canada. I thought I would hear people say they lived in LA but nop more from Canada maybe I should move to Canada then.
yes i used to live there too
They only come here to study then leave though :c Koreans in USA usually live there with their family and stay there
Same with England!
침 침 you went back to Korea?
Katiwa really? I knew a guy who stayed in Canada I guess he is just one of the few exceptions.
He has a good sense to find people who can actually speak English though xD
I can't help to think that maybe they were nice because he's asian. Like, I wonder how would react with a real foreign person, like if they would pretend not to speak the lenguage.
mvc1412 that's true but I actually had a pretty good experience at this exact location he was at when I was asking for help and ordering in english
Ros Snave Good to know :)
Most are really helpful. I lived there a year
meralys21 I'm glad to know that :D
I currently live in Korea and can vouch that most Koreans will help you regardless of whether or not they speak english. Usually they actually want to talk to a foreigner in English because they want to practice it. If they don't speak it, usually they will try to use body language to help me, or direct me to a worker, or friend who speaks it. They're very nice people :)
I think it was nice how some of them just lead the way for him instead
asians are nice people
I think it also has to do with the fact that its harder to hold longer conversations to explain directions so instead they show the way
Why is everyone so helpful. Even the man who has twin babies didn't feel too bothered to help out. Faith in humanity restored ❤️

Hyperia 19 haha my dad did that too :0
LOL that's really funny
lol I pictured a little cute kid looking up at their mom with some big eyes not knowing what to say haha
They do understand for the most part. They all take English in school. They are just shy in speaking.
This is such a nice portrayal of Korean people. For example how many of them went out of their way to help you even though they probably had other things to be doing 💕
what I learned in this video: Koreans will show you the way. wow. you don't see that where I live. hhh
ikr
+Josefa Fuchs lol
Where do you live? Anywhere in the United States, strangers will talk with you; even the most tattooed and pierced strangers will engage in conversation when approached. (and not trying to sell something)
xthatwhiteguyx Im german and here you don't even greet germans. Besides elders, they will just talk with anyone. (Mostly young goodlooking girls and boys)
Ist leider wirklich so.
you dont really have to be fluent so that you can communicate. sometimes its ok if the thought is there. i want to learn korean though. its hard to watch korean dramas or movie if the subs arent out yet
can i help u? i'm a little bit good at english though
Wow. I loved how most of the people were so hospitable and tried to help even though they could speak english in bits and pieces, they get the gist ^^
No matter they can speak English or not I have noticed they always try to help if you ask for help. Specially directions. I have experienced this in Korea. I think Koreans are so kind and friendly!
Korean people are soooo nice :'3 the guy with his twins still helped even though he was busy~
Most Koreans are helpful and try will
To assist you even tho they struggle with english at times. Most can understand and know the basics
I don't get WHY some people here get mad and go all like "they in kurrea, so they speak kurrean, why would they need to speak englush in kurrea, when they r kurreen", b*tch he literally said it at the start of the video, why he did it. tone down the attitude lol wtf
Jee ok sorry but it's Korea, Korean, Korea and Korean xD
and English
He obviously spelled it like that on purpose.
Kristoffer Szczerbicki Music
She and yes LOL i was feeling a bit extra that time haha
i say btYES
just to confirm, yes i was being extra XD
Koreans are the nicest. They always try their best even if they don't speak English that well, and even offer to go with you instead of giving you directions. i miss everything about Korea, but the people were by far my favourite thing about staying there. can't wait to go back next summer
Lol koreans are familiar with english cuz its a second language meaning their schools have english classes. I think the asian country with the best english based on general proficiency would be the phillipines.
Yes. Definitely, the Philippines.
+TypicalTeen singapore?
I love google Well, Singapore is obvious because that's one of the main languages. But we're talking like other countries which are not at all acquainted with English.
+Fade Away English is the official language of The Philippines beside Tagalog. You can see a lot of announcement written in English there.
No. Chinese is like, their second language.
wow looks like every korean had lived in canada australia us in the past
So based on this video, not only are koreans able to successfully and efficiently communicate in english, but they are also very kind and helpful. I love how some of them were willing to walk you to the place you wanted to get to. If you were to do that experiment here in America, you would probably get mugged
lots of them are surprisingly good at their English. I used to think Koreans are not pretty good in speaking English too. maybe because i saw many Korean entertainer don't speak English. Media creates opinion I think that's why foreigner think Korean doesn't speak English. this social experiment took us to look closer to the reality of what happen in the field. nice video :)
Awww these koreans are so kind to help you with directions! Nice video once again!! Keep up the good work!!! :D
i dont know what im doing here but koreans are really sweet and polite, XD the way they talked and did not ignore when he asked, i found it sweet idk.. i dont see that sort of treatment everywhere
Dude, go to Namdaemun or Insadong. Or to a local street market. It's tough to find someone who will speak in English. Looks like you went to Coex mall.
you are right..
Exactly go outside of Seoul and it's way different. There are so many non Koreans there it's not really a challenge.
so you mean they're not KOREAN?
I have the biggest crush on this dude I swear. The first video that I have watched was his talking to kids for direction and I immediately fell ❤️
Keep up the good content 😊
The guy sitting on the stairs was so sweet. Actually most of them really went out of their way to help aw
They are good at english in this video But i'm not😭😭
you do speak english and you know basics so that's more than okay because many people won't even try
Kim min joo right? it's actually not easy to learn another language. im like struggling to learn Korean so its okay :)
practice makes perfect! yet nobody's perfect, so why practice?. .oh I'm just kidding!.. but kidding aside, you do know how to compose English at written, so that's a great start, all you have to do is to speak it out and it'll get better. #fighting
+grapes playyy my gush same here.! I've been trying.. nah.. still like a robot. haha
they r Korean but most of them have been studying aboard or they don't even live in Korea.
Korean people are so polite and sweet!! It is always such a joy to meet one ^-^
why many koreans used to live in australia😂
TAE HYUNGIEE Canada too 😳😂
TAE HYUNGIEE study abroad maybe? rap mon did study abroad to new zealand (correct me if im wrong, im very forgetful)
Masayo bohn how long did it take u to write this lol 😂
OMG THEY ARE SO NICE!
I hope I get the chance to study there soon and meet all the nice people! :D
omggg same 😍😍 and I am trying my best to learn korean but damn ;-;

korean schools are actually reinforcing English as a foreign language inside schoola now so its easier to meet plp who can speak English now
as an English speaker from England I don't understand why would another country not English would have to know English, however as I don't know a word of Korean and I plan to go next year this makes me feel better.
