We know this because in season 5 ep 8, when clover, Maurice, julien, and mort we’re studying the book, mort says
‘And I’ve been around for so long, Im actually in the history section’
Then there’s a image of mort and another mouse lemur taking a apple from a forbidden tree
( Reference to Adam and Eve )

In blackboard jungle there’s a part where mort says “I’m so old that I’m in the history section” and it shows a Adam and Eve touching a branch or something but in this case mort and morticah? Idk but I think mort was born when the world in that cartoon started

I think it’s just a random thing they put in the show for kicks or to show how crazy Julien is when in probable reality, Mort is really an innocent kid lemur who has a thing for feet.

I would recommend a channel called the Theorizer who did a theory on all the Dreamworks movies (similar to the Pixar theory) that is based entirely around the fact that Mort is quite literally the eldritch embodiment of death who has variants across the Multiverse and is responsible for the animal and beastly intelligence and evolution we see across the franchise and is millions, if not billions of years old. I think he explains a lot of the inconsistencies in his character very well, although the series is 26 videos long so it does take some dedication to get through.

Ok I think that the sky gids actually split mort into other personalities or other versions across the multiverse and is slowly reforming himself to a complete state also I think the second life of his is well he literally is the old version in a sense with essences and all and he gains memories back slowly maybe after the shows he his old self as he knows he can fend for himself now

According to the Madagascar commentary, Mort is 37 years old. Not 50. So no, he's not immortal (Infact, that Adam & Eve picture showed two Morts, so it might as well be Mort's ancestors who would later be absorbed by Mort from what we know).
