- This was the first full day of our P&O Transatlantic Cruise where we fly from the UK out to Barbados, ready to cruise around various Caribbean Islands before coming back across the Atlantic Ocean via the Azores to Southampton.
If you have watched some of our previous videos you may know that we like to normally do our own thing and simply walk around the local area of the cruise ports looking for good local areas to explore.
On this walk from the Cruise Port in Bridgetown Barbados, we found a lovely beach within easy walking distance. I think this lovely long beach is a combination of smaller named beaches, including Brownes Beach and Pebbles Beach.
There are some good looking beach bars where food and drink are available, although we never actually went into any of these.
If you are in Barbados cruise port though and looking for a good beach, we would highly recommend this short walk
Hey really glad we seen this video. On the beach you can see a couple one in a pink dress and the other one with a t-shirt and shirt (taking t shirt off). That was us!
Great to be able to relive that tiny bit of bliss from the cruise.
I’m glad you liked the video. It was lovely on that beach, and a great cruise over all. Hopefully you have seen the other videos as we did one at each port stop.
Thanks for the beautiful photos of the white sand beach near the cruise ship terminal. I took a Celebrity Cruises shore excursion in November, 2022 to the navy fort with tonnes of history of "the father of our country" and the bus drove right by it.
I love!!!! Bridgetown Barbados I am definitely taking me a cruise to this caribbean island. Pure relaxation!!!! White sand love beaches. Love it!!
Really enjoyed this - will be watching for more - I’m considering a transatlantic cruise for 2023!
Glad I found this video. Answered so many questions. We land at 2:30 and our ship leaves at 10pm. Wanted to make sure there was plenty to do right off the ship. We'll be there in January.
Glad that you found it useful. Thanks for the positive comment. If you would be so kind as to give it a LIKE and maybe even subscribe it would be much appreciated :)
We're doing this cruise next month, I have seen all your other blogs for the islands we're going to so thanks for the tips. We like exploring on our own too. Fellow islanders btw.
We hope you have a great time! Good to have more people from the Island on cruises, always nice to see people with their cases when we are on the RedJet going on holiday :)
Hi we are in Barbados on a cruise this year. Just wondering what the drink prices are like there? Thanks for the beach tip we will definately be going there.
You will have a great time, it’s lovely there. We thought the drinks prices were very reasonable. I can’t remember exactly how much, but we had a few of their rum Cocktails which were great! :)
Great video we have subscribe to you
First time in Barbados was in 1988, we rented a taxi driver for the day , Calvin was a native and took us off the usual places, We visited a cave, the slave cages from over 100 years ago. his wife made us lunch at his house. His children were well behaved and polite. 100% literacy and all children get free college abroad paid bt government. capital punishment was enforced, sometimes in the town square . Zero murders or rapes occur. zero theft as well by locals, penalty is stiff.
Interesting! I’m not so sure they are that strict there now. We would like to explore further afield next time we are there.
Capital punishment is on the statute book in name only. There have been no executions for almost 40 years thankfully.
Do you still have to wear masks there. I did that cruise 3 years ago and loved it. Going back to Barbados in November
Probably not now, but they were very strict when we were there. You even had to wear masks when out in the open away from people.
