Hi and thank you for watching the video! I know, like anywhere else, there are streets that could be unsafe at night if you are walking alone. Although I’ve never felt unsafe in Barbados, I also have never walked on dark downtown streets or on the beach alone at night. Barbados is a safe place in general and tourist rarely get targeted. By taking the usual travel precautions I don’t see that you should have any problems. Hope this helps and happy travels! 😊
Hi thanks for watching the video and commenting! I have little information about work visas for Barbados. It must also depend on where you are located at the moment. But you can check the requirements at this link: barbados.org/barbados-jobs.htm
I've been to Barbados twice now, but that was a few decaded ago. I found your information very insightful and helpful and especially like the (mostly) common sense policies the country has.
@@globetrottinggang most of the roads are in poor condition except for the ABC Highway. We came across some resurfacing works on Highway 6 and the Ermy Bourne last week, but there weren't any signs to warn in advance!
Hi! Thanks for watching… for a quieter spot I would choose the West Coast, for example St Peter or St James Parishes. It is a little further out than locations in the South, but worth the drive. It also depends on budget. The west coast has more expensive lodging, south is more affordable (generally speaking). Hope this helps! Enjoy your trip!
It depends greatly: are you looking for a hotel, an airbnb? A villa, a condominium? Is your budget on the lower end 200-300$/night or on the higher end (if there is such an end)? I know someone in Barbados who rent airbnbs. But specific I cannot be unless you give me more info.

Hi! Thanks for watching. May/June is the start of the rain season in Barbados. You will still get plenty of sunshine as it rains in short and heavy downpours. However, June is low tourist season. The airfare and hotel costs are lower during this time, and the crowds are considerably thinned out. So that’s a bonus. Except for December when I’ve felt a little cold I never had a bad weather (sunshine) experience in Barbados. We did have lots of water in July at one point but it dried up in 2 days.
The West side of the island is the calmer waters of the Caribbean Sea not the Atlantic, Animal Flower, Cave awesome place to visit where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean Sea - don’t miss this if you visit
@globetrottinggang mr weatherman (youtube channel) does daily updates on the weather in the Atlantic and carribean. He does a good job on reporting weather updates. Check him out, thats how i found out
Omg we are home with Bajan family members and we were just having this conversation about camo in Barbados. What a coincidence… I open my phone and see your message. I totally agree with you on that one 😂😅
You never mentioned the best place for a Rum Punch! A holiday in the Caribbean is not complete without tasting a Rum Punch, even if one does not indulge in alcohol, it’s like drinking the milk from coconuts’ a must try.
Read the fine print on your car rental agreement well before you arrive on Barbados. One company at the airport will force you to buy a useless COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER even though your credit card covers it. You must produce an email or letter from your insuring company (Credit card) with your name on it and the amount it will cover in case of an accident. A downloaded copy of it is not enough.
@@sejalpatel569 I live in Canada. I have a BMO ELITE card but others have it. The Elite dividend card has a yearly fee but I also have a BMO checking account I keep the minimum amount to waive fees and they charge then waive the credit card fee. Just look for a card with a COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW) on it. I did get caught another time in Antigua they wanted to charge for both the CDW and a zero deductible for THIRD PARTY LIABILITY. The card does not cover that. I had booked on Expedia and after I did look and in the downloadable fine print it did state an email or letter with. Your name and the covered amount were needed. I think unfortunately it was the only one which required it. And it was then too late to rebook another company.
I am a Barbadian ,for better and for worse I was born and brought up there and left the island in 1961 to make a life for myself, like thousands upon thousands in the diaspora; I have had the privilege to return for brief periods in 1964,1989,2000,and 2016 and now the Republic of Barbados. I don't drive a car and ride a bicycle and walk as much as possible, to engage in of these modes of independent and sustainable Blue Planet friendly transport in tiny Barbados would have put myself in harms way on the ever increasing amount of vehicular traffic. Your promotion of the offer of car rental put me right off returning to my roots, could I ever afford to live there in the most modest of accommodation.@@globetrottinggang
Hi George, thank you for watching! I can assure you Barbadians are very welcoming people and generally keep to themselves. During our travels to Barbados we have seen many gay couples. Last month (December 2022) Barbados became the 3rd Eastern Caribbean country to decriminalize gay sex. Also, Barbados' elected, first female Prime Minister is openly pro-LGBTQ. Slowly the island is coming around to being more accepting of the LGBTQ community. However, attitudes towards the LGBTQ community are still mostly conservative and travelers should be mindful of these attitudes (public displays of affection in GENERAL is not very common). But, I would not be concerned about safety... Hope this helps and happy travels!
The rainy season is officially from June to November. But September and October are generally rainier. Rainfall is the lowest between January and April.
The water may not be safe all over the island. A few years ago, the US Embassy put out a study on water collected at south coast residences of US staff, citing bacteria in the water. The Barbados government denied this, but didn't offer studies to counter the US study. I bring a UV water cleaning bottle with me to Barbados and run all my drinking/cooking water through a filter that will also filter out bacteria. The water is also high in nitrogen, thanks to farm fertilizer run off---I've heard this directly from local biologists who say the government silences this information. So, if you have health concerns or want a stress-free vacation, filter and bring a UV water cleaner with you.
Thank you for the tip, better safe than sorry. A good filtering bottle is always a bonus, even here in North America, one never knows. Thanks for watching.
@@SarahPSchacht So you need a bottle with a filter plus something for the faucet in the Bridgetown hotel or ABnB? Does it filter the rust? I checked the Essential but I can't find what you suggest there. And Brita is just the regular brand?
@@dovygoodguy1296 Generally I use the bottle when out and about, both as a water bottle and to UV treat table water when I’m out somewhere new. I use a Brita filter at home in the house I rent-water quality seems to vary across the island. People say it’s safe… but there’s not a lot of data on that besides the study from the US Embassy. Brita filters do not rust.

Some people are privileged. It is the world we live in 😥but I think in general people are respectful. On cruises arriving in Barbados they tell the guests directly what not to wear.
They are stressed out about military uniforms? Afraid of communists from Cuba or Venezuela taking over the island?😮😂 No problem. We have none of that clothing!🤔🙏

Hullo thanks for the beautiful info what if i want to stay in barbados for work, some advise please
Hi thanks for watching the video and commenting! I have little information about work visas for Barbados. It must also depend on where you are located at the moment. But you can check the requirements at this link: barbados.org/barbados-jobs.htm
I miss Barbados. It is my favorite place to visit.
Thank you for watching! Hoping you will go back to visit Barbados soon. 😊
I've been to Barbados twice now, but that was a few decaded ago. I found your information very insightful and helpful and especially like the (mostly) common sense policies the country has.
Thank you for watching the video and for the comment 😊. Are you planning on returning to Barbados soon?
I am from barbados and every thing is true😱
Thank you for your comment! It's appreciated. Happy you enjoyed watching the video.
Very helpful, a virtual slice of paradise 💛🌞 Excellent production. Smartly done... very impressive. Top Shelf compilation and narration.
Thank you Collin! Appreciate your delightful comment!

Wow I’m going to Barbados in a couple of months.. And I need a license to fly my drone.. I will just leave it home and take a GoPro
Hi thanks for watching. Not the same kind of footage with a GoPro. You still have time if it’s in a couple months, I would try and get the license.
I'm related to the first prime Minister of Barbados. Been wanting to go my whole life. Finally going this November!!!👏👏👏👏👏
Oh wow 🤩 will you be able to hang out with the Prime Minister?! Enjoy your trip and I am sure you will have the best time ever!
I will be going there in November as well.

Is not correct that the main roads are generally in good condition, not if you had to replace 3 tires because of pot holes.
Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear this. Did this happen on the main roads?
@@globetrottinggang most of the roads are in poor condition except for the ABC Highway. We came across some resurfacing works on Highway 6 and the Ermy Bourne last week, but there weren't any signs to warn in advance!
@@JoeGrohlDJ Oh no, so sorry to hear, hopefully, this is temporary and will be fixed soon.
Yes there are. I've never heard of bad roads in Barbados yet!!!
Do you have suggestions of where to stay as a retired couple looking for a quiet location in south or west Barbados as a first time visit.
@@globetrottinggang Right, any specific recommendations??
It depends greatly: are you looking for a hotel, an airbnb? A villa, a condominium? Is your budget on the lower end 200-300$/night or on the higher end (if there is such an end)? I know someone in Barbados who rent airbnbs. But specific I cannot be unless you give me more info.
Also, are you a beachgoer, a golfer? Will you be renting a car or need to use public transportation?
@@globetrottinggang As a newbie for the first time probably a hotel near amenities and conveniences. We'll probably even want to hire a driver to show us around the first time.
This video is amazing❤🎉

Is june a good time to travel? Does it rain a lot?
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! Have a lovely weekend!
Watching this as a hurricane is about to hit barbados 😅
What, no!! No one told us anything. I have to call my family. Thanks for letting us know.
@globetrottinggang mr weatherman (youtube channel) does daily updates on the weather in the Atlantic and carribean. He does a good job on reporting weather updates. Check him out, thats how i found out
Ok I’m Bajan 🇧🇧 😅(live in Canada 🇨🇦 now) but seriously 😒 the whole no camo thing is nutty 😅
Oh wow you’re right. Guess I’ll have to make a part 2 for this video. Thanks for pointing it out! 😊
Eh MON we want to gooo down dere❤🏖️
Haha beautiful island. Strongly suggest you do.
Thank you Richard for this important piece of information, hope it will help some of the travelers headed to Barbados.
Sorry what credit card companies do this insurance?

Looking for work can anyone please help me
Are you located in Barbados and what kind of work are you looking for?
Hello, are gay people allowed in Barbados?! My husband and I just got married and we’re thinking about having our honeymoon there.
@@globetrottinggang Thank you! When is the best time to visit to avoid the rain!
The rainy season is officially from June to November. But September and October are generally rainier. Rainfall is the lowest between January and April.
@@globetrottinggang Thank you!
@@Jthegreat84 It’s a pleasure! ☺️
Any suggestions for the UV water filter?
@@SarahPSchacht I meant whether the tap water itself has rust....
Im going to Barbados but won’t be exploiting horses while I’m there 🙂

All people are welcome even gay folk, but just don't b kissing etc in public it's just uncomfortable, most things are easy going, slow pace,it's expensive thts for sure.night life is ok but the same thing all over,I recommend you visit not live,I live here and was born here but I travel pretty often, enjoy whn u come
Ouh yes, food items particularly are expensive. Thanks for watching!
The best answer I can give you is that it varies.
Just stay out of the low maintenance urban areas and you'll be fine

Another tip. Do not buy marijuana from "Handy Andy" in St Lawrence Gap. That stuff was terrible. 😂

Well unless you are Colleen Rooney who flagrantly wore camouflage and nothing was done...rudeness no respect
Some people are privileged. It is the world we live in 😥but I think in general people are respectful. On cruises arriving in Barbados they tell the guests directly what not to wear.
Monkeys are aggressive period.
Thank you for watching and for your comment. As a tourist it may be tempting to get too close. But it is best to give them their space.
Do not throw rocks at monkey them would eat all of your fruits you have let the monkey have some
They are stressed out about military uniforms? Afraid of communists from Cuba or Venezuela taking over the island?😮😂 No problem. We have none of that clothing!🤔🙏
😂 I believe it’s because they do not want the population to be mistaken for soldiers. Old school.
Quite impoverished though…
Post-covid is hard on many countries
That’s not true. Education is their main resource. That’s why there are so many educated people there.
