Great Tutorial mate! Really love wharf fishing! Grew up in Wellington where there are some really good wharves with a lot of species! Alas I live in Napier now where theres none!. Over the years Ive had the pleasure to fish some legendary wharves like Paua, Whangaroa and Tologa Bay. Keep up the good work mate and tight lines!
Never underestimate the handline, itll surprise even the most avid angler. Been trying it out just dropping straight down off the wharf had success and learnt from all my mistakes and will never leave it unattended again.
I went fishing off the Raglan wharf today that does into the harbour, not to much action, just a few yellow eyes mullet, but one of them I caught a shag got it, and a hook on my trace got stuck in its foot. I managed to release it practically unharmed. One guys next to me caught an eel, and another guy was livebaiting for kingies with a kahawai, but it died and before he left he gave it to me cause he didn't want it
its just a grassy weed that is easy to get: around rock pools during low tide. some people use shellfish baits such as pipis, mussels or tuatuas but i prefer using weed instead for parore
thank you very much. used to be old onehunga bridge but now that place is undergoing some 'maintenance' stuff so most of the fishing space has been restricted.
any bait that is soft and oily such as skipjack tuna, pilchard although mussel bait is their most favourite. will put up a tutorial on trevally fishing at some point lol

sounds like u had fun out there lol
nice video! have you fished in the waitemata harbour recently? how is the fishing there?
also, where do u find the sea weed for targeting parore?is there a particular type of weed?
haven't fished there for a while but i can imagine it being super slow due to the cold weather

Awesome videos! I was wondering if you have come across the location of all wharfs are in the north island? Something like this?
thank you for ur comment haha nope only been a few places.
Thanks mate. BTW can I catch fish with the help of fish trap here?
uh maybe haha i dont know about fish trap regulations tbh
great tutorial, which wharf do you go to often? liked my friend!

Always get snapper but the size is illegal
What rod do you have with the baitrunner
that was a triton rod. the reel and rod came as a combo set
What line weight
20lb with a 30lb shockleader
The rod not the line, how many kg's
the rod line weight is 10kg
What's some good bait for trevally? Thanks
any bait that is soft and oily such as skipjack tuna, pilchard although mussel bait is their most favourite. will put up a tutorial on trevally fishing at some point lol
What size hooks for trevally? and also what hooks do you use for surfcasting?
recurve hooks i recon r the best. any size seems to work for trevs but the smaller the hook the better around 3/0
