I absolutely love these quirky Reliant 3 wheelers. In my urban environment such a funky yet legendary little car would suit me well. This looks to be a very finely done example. The engine needs sorting, but I'd buy this one in a heartbeat, if the price is right.
@@ExhibitionofSpeed Columbus Ohio, and I teach at The Ohio State University. My daily is a 10 year old Prius "C", and it's just about perfect for me since I live in the neighborhood and never use 4 lanes unless I'm in my 16 year old CUV.
It's actually fairly hard to roll an unmodified one of these, if you start to roll over one of the rear wheels lifts up and the open differential spins it rather than the wheel on the ground. So you loose drive and slow down, dropping you back onto all three wheels. And on the topic of speed limits, fairly certain the Regal was in production when UK motorways had no speed limits. We only introduced the 70mph limit after somebody did 150mph on the M1. Now if you want something really crazy, take a look at Bond. Not 007, but the Bond Minicar or Bond Bug. The Minicar was a front wheel drive three wheeler, with the engine turning with the front wheel. While the Bug was a tiny sports car based on the Reliant Robin's chassis... ..but cut down to make it smaller. Yes, smaller.
It's probably scary from an American perspective considering how different American cars were in th 70s compared to what was sold in Britain. The whole tipping thing...idk about that. My older brother who has a Rialto had to throw it real hard from side to side to lift a wheel. The stability is an important detail because no one ever says it right. It's a bit more specific. Great video btw.
I used to have a Reliant Robin in the eighties. In the UK then you could drive a Robin with a motorbike licence. I need never felt worried going round a corner. Eventually the cylinder gasket blew and I sold it. Great car but I graduated to a 4 wheeler.
Yes. I missed it. It was fun to drive like the Citreon 2CV but I would have kept it to use just for short journeys. I am glad though that I passed my driving test and got a four wheel car
Thanks James! It was difficult to find a footers that fit right and that one seems to have slipped through the cracks. Thanks for the note all the same!
@@ExhibitionofSpeed I used to live in England as a child. It was a city in yorkshire which was mostly an old coal city so alot of coal miners used to drive these. Walking to school every morning I'd see 2 one a early 90s model one late 90s. Used to find them cool the way they look like their floating with the front wheel tucked inboard
I can't remember when I last saw one if these on the roads. Growing up here in Britain in the 70s/80s, I remember seeing them on the Roads, being made of fibreglass, they were known as the plastic pig. I've never driven one. They were seen as unsafe and a bit of a joke. I'm supprised that it can do 70mph.
Exhaust is fixed! I’ve daily delivered this thing at lest 6 solid months out of my ownership!
Not the most comfortable! But hey, 60mph ain’t too bad ;) great video guys!
Thanks for everything Kenny! I recall from when I took the car to get more B-roll that it felt more civilized.

It was just a little loud from the Monster Energy Drink can exhaust. It ran fine regardless. 😂
What urban environment do you reside?

Nice! Well, the Robin would certainly add some spice to your commute regardless of where you are. Thanks for watching!
@@ExhibitionofSpeed HaHa! I appreciate the humor as well as the honest assessment of this Robin. Happy motoring, gents!

What a homely video. Love the work.
Thanks dude! Glad you enjoyed watching it as much as we did making it. 🥰
There is usually a single air vent where your rev counter is!
U can get a station wagon and van version. You can fit a lot in them
Absolutely!
I love Mr. Bean, he’s my childhood, he hates the three wheeled blue car

Look for rilaint kitten 4 wheels with wish bone suspension on front same engine and rear end.
I got one but did have a rialto in the past
Great vid. You did say a realto when you showed a supervan. A realto was a coupe with s slanted back window like a ford anglia.

Overall it was surprisingly stable given what it is. It was quite a riot but a scary one haha!
Is this the same Reliant that Donut Media used?
Yes it was! We drove it about 6 or so weeks before they did.
Same car donut media just used on their video
We shot it first though.
