The thing I love about this movie is that in the end both groups won. The Clovers were able to finally get their won after years of their routines being stolen and the Torros performed a routine that was entirely their own.
Being a former Cheerleader ill say this, The clovers win because they did more stunts and flips; which garner more points. Now the toros had the better dance routine but they didn't do as many stunts which means points they didn't get. It was probably close in points but like i said Clovers did more stunts which are worth more on points. The choreographer who made the routines most likely did this on purpose because the story line needed the Clovers to win; as redemption for all the years they got robbed. While toros are redeemed as well because it was the first routine that was original for them. So it makes sense point wise for the Clovers to win.
I see what you mean, but I still wanted the Torros to win, since it's Torrance's senior year. The Clovers deserved that win, but I thought the Torros routine was better and deserved first place.
What makes the Toros' performance more impressive is that they designed it from scratch, and in such a short amount of time. But unfortunately, the judges can't give you extra points for that.

Watching this again and I really enjoyed the Toros performance WAY more .. but get the whole technicality of the Clovers’ routine - but this isn’t a dance competition so the Clovers definitely deserved the win
Actually that is incorrect. We get scored on dance, cheer AND stunting along with skill level of tumbling. The clovera were good but toros would have been considered like Navarro or California All-stars. And actually their stunting was more complex and harder. The clovera actually would of had points taken off because they wouldn't have completed the dance section or cheer section. It is a gymnastics competition.
Gabrielle Union needs to give her self more credit.. in her book she said she didn’t know a single cheer she just made it look like she did and she’s killing these moves
As someone who has done competitive cheer i can tell you that the clovers definitely would have won. The clovers had more complex aerobatic moves plus more complex stunts that are legally which would have given them more points then choreo, theres reason that most routines have entrie section dedicated to tumbling it gains a high point value. Yes the toros had better choreography and that would have given them a lot more points put their tumbling and stunt techniques (the area that gives u the big boy points) were lacking compared to the clovers plus if u watch the toros routine they had a drop at one points that causes deductions and they completed two stunts of an illegal move which would be heavy dedications. Completing and illegal move at a competion is essentially asking to lose because a lot of points will be deducted for those. To be honest even with the lack of choreo in the clovers routine their input of so much stunts n tumbling would have given them more than enough points to beat the toros routine
@@88Featured Franeurysm since in the movie they are a high school team, not competing as a level 6 IOC team. Clovers had some illegal moves as well including flipping baskets, throwing a flyer to different bases, flipping into a stunt at the end.
I prefer the clovers performance, Toro's was good but theirs was much harder as in synchronisation, clovers was hard because of all the flips and acrobatic stuff they did.
I liked the Torros routine better because it was more interesting in my opinion, and was more based on formations and different elements of movement and dance. However the Clovers had way more tumbling and stunts in their routine which is harder and worth higher scores so they definitely deserved to win.
Being from a school that has won 17 national championships and now one world championship putting in hard work doesn't even half explain the discipline and dedication this sport and despite what some say it is a sport. The clovers did have a better routine because of more stunts and more risk. Hands down Torrance did what any respected Captain would do and I've seen squads have to learn a new routine quickly. It's not easy.

This scene highlights the fairness of the competition just like this saying, “It’s not whether you win or lose. It’s how you play the game.” The fairness is shown though the Clovers having the equal opportunity to compete regardless being less well-off than the Torros and the Torros using their own dance routines for the competition.
Torrance was a much more successful Captain than Big Red was. The only reason why they won first place all those times is because Big Red stole those cheers and winning without dignity is not winning at all. She made the rest of her squad look bad when it got out in the open. The fact that Torrance put together a routine that was completely new and original and managed to get second place is an amazing accomplishment for a Captain. @@rmybrrnts08you got what I need. Remember when Torrance listened to it after Aaron dropped her off? Cliff was waiting on her porch for her to get home. He gave her the tape and left. She went in her room and played the tape and started dancing on her bed with her Pom Pom’s.
Looking at this again. I'm always wondering if at 3:06 with the way the girl falls and is caught by the spotter was a blooper that just stayed in the movie to show just how important the spotter are cause the way the actors involved in that stunt looked shocked like she wasn't supposed to fall the way she did or one of the guys holding her missed the timing a little bit. But that is my option
The cheer routines are just terrific! I'm sure there were professional cheerleaders mixed in for the tougher gymnastics and stunts- but Nicole Bilderback, Gabrielle Union and Kirsten Dunst were all cheerleaders in school as well as being child actresses.
Yes the Clovers deserved because they were better, however, much respect goes to Torrence. She absolutely did not put up with the fact Big Red was stealing routines. She seriously risked her reputation and the squad’s reputation trying to do what was right. That’s a true leader and I think the captain of the Clovers (Isis) saw that too and respected her as well. Isis was also proactive in making sure the Clovers were seen this time. The Torros got second place after literally starting from the ground up. That’s a freaking amazing accomplishment. Both squads that year were blessed to have to captains that wanted to earn respect the right way and maybe the both broke the cycle of the thievery and/or not doing anything to stop it.
Yeah, she also recognized when Isis called out that she was doing a rich person number on the Clovers by giving them money (as if trying to buy respect, which, as well intentioned as it was, was a blow to the pride.), and she backed off. She really earned Isis' respect by the end.
Yo nunca entendí porqué lo de la traducción: En España le pusieron "A por todas" que match mucho mejor a su título. "Vamos a por todas" "Bring it on, come on!" Saludos desde Madrid.
Toros proved they was still amazing even after years of big red stealing and redememd themselves and the cloves finally got recognised for there talent
This is such a fun movie. It's just a really good time, like a party. I liked all the characters, which is very rare. The story moved right along, with no real slow parts. If you want to feel happy , or enjoy the positive mood you're already in, then watch this.
I've always thought that Clovers were better because they had the hardest routine, even if Toros had better choreography. But now that I watch this as an adult. I can see that Toros not only had better routines, but really hard stunts, higher flips and riskier moves. Now I think that Toros did better, but I guess there are minimal mistakes they made that cost them the first place. And I say 'minimal' because the judges said it was a tough decision and both were very close to the prize. Anyhow I still enjoy them both. And even that now I think that Toros did better. Still think that Clovers deserve to win.
Courtney: Can she yell? 🤷🏼♀️ Missy: 😏 I TRAVELED FROM LOS ANGELES, YOUR SCHOOL HAS NO GYMNASTICS TEAM, THIS IS A LAST RESORT! Everyone:😀😐😒 Me: I think she yelled pretty good 😌
I always enjoy the Toros routine more than the Clovers, even though I understand from a technical standpoint, the Clovers edged them out due to the number of tricks and flips they had over the Toros.
That "if you are a cheerleader, you are as good as dead". The boy whose T-Shirt has this written in the scene, brother of the 'Toros' team captain (Kirsten Dunst) in the movie, was a huge critic of cheerleading AND his sister. You know, the sweet brother-sister fights. :) By wearing that T-Shirt, he was kinda expressing that he was 'forced' to attend the event - which according to him was the dumbest thing in the world. Though by the end of the scene, he happens to really appreciate and applaud for what was happening there.
It’s been a long time since this movie aired … and I’m still a little bitter that the Tauros didn’t win. They were WAY more in sync. Mesmerizing performance
I've seen this movie countless times in spite not being into cheerleading, over-exaggerated teen drama, the music, and many other individual things in this movie but put together, they work. It is the actors and actresses that made it fun to watch.
Its funny, I didn't really get the actual meaning of this movie when I first saw it however long ago, but now I realize it was about cultural appropriation. The clovers def deserved to win.
For some reason, the black judge's expression at 3:43 always cracks me up. He's like "Damn, whatever that just was, I've never seen before in all my years of judging cheerleading competitions!" I hope he voted for the Torros in that case!

Toros learned the choreography within 3 weeks
Clovers were always original and it was their first contest
I watched this movie in theatres and the BASS of this movies was intense! It was like watching an action movie! Very impressive! I also love this movie with all my heart. Still very funny and such a feel good film. This movie is pure sunshine.
CLOVERS OWNED THIS, their routine was based on skills while the TORROS worked on dance moves mainly. CLOVERS ALL THE WAY
They were shit and highly overrated. Major plot armour
I'm so glad my mom let me do cheer this Sophomore Year. It's a shame boys can't do competitive at our school, smh. I made the Varsity Sideline though. First guy in Flushing history to be on the cheer team.☠️ We have a home game this Thursday, so, wish me luck for my first game.☠️💞
I wish you the best of luck kaalen Wilson
I wish you the best of luck kaalen Wilson
@@khanhle7917 Thank you! It went really good! Currently, Sideline is over and Competitive is going on right now, so I'll have to wait for Tryouts in June for Cheer this year! ❤️
@@kaalen_wilson your welcome
It’s April 2019 and I’m still watching this for the goosebumps effect on me
3:48 - I love how they incorporated Cliff’s song he made for Torrance as part of their routine~
What the name of the song ? .
@@rmybrrnts08you got what I need. Remember when Torrance listened to it after Aaron dropped her off? Cliff was waiting on her porch for her to get home. He gave her the tape and left. She went in her room and played the tape and started dancing on her bed with her Pom Pom’s.
The best bring it on ever, and also the only bring it on that release the teams cheer mixes 😃
I Love the grils
Looking at this again. I'm always wondering if at 3:06 with the way the girl falls and is caught by the spotter was a blooper that just stayed in the movie to show just how important the spotter are cause the way the actors involved in that stunt looked shocked like she wasn't supposed to fall the way she did or one of the guys holding her missed the timing a little bit. But that is my option
I never even noticed them until now. 😮
I was in high school when I saw this movie and still one of my favorites. I love Kirsten Dunst 😄
shes been one of my fave actors from i was a little girl 33 still one of them
Awwww, her little brother cheered for her in the end. I never noticed that until now.
This hyped me up!! I got goosebumps! I loved this movie!
Clovers the true champion
DannyH 2232 I'm Asian, sir. Please check my pic. Ha.

I got the chills watching their routine. EAST COMPTON 🤟🏼
i wonder did Gabrielle Union think she would be very know after this movie still 18 years later?
Hade yener
Honey Gabby been acting way before this
She was in 10 things I hate about you before this, or at least I think it was before this.
Gabrielle was been known before this movie she was even in She's All That.
Like as she be more know beyond a teenage crowd
I love her baby brother was cheering at the end.
The name in Spanish is "Triunfos Robados" (Stolen Victories) which I think was a perfect translation. Very fitting.
Yo nunca entendí porqué lo de la traducción: En España le pusieron "A por todas" que match mucho mejor a su título. "Vamos a por todas" "Bring it on, come on!"
Saludos desde Madrid.

This comment needs more likes 😊
At 3:45 idk why but I love when the judges smile and say "I like it" that was awesome!
The "I like it" is actually a part of the cheer mix.
OML. GABRIELLE UNION. HONEY SHE HAS NOT CHANGEF ONE BIT
I love how Whitney here (Asian) is played as the Biatch type not the usual Asian we see in Mainstream western movies that always play the nerdy type.
I could watch this routines for ever. I just love everything, the music, the choreography, everything is so exciting!
What minimal mistakes did the Toros make?
Just seeing Faith in a cheerleader outfit in this movie😂😂😂
tuy
Courtney: Can she yell? 🤷🏼♀️
Missy: 😏 I TRAVELED FROM LOS ANGELES, YOUR SCHOOL HAS NO GYMNASTICS TEAM, THIS IS A LAST RESORT!
Everyone:😀😐😒
Me: I think she yelled pretty good 😌
Same 😂
@@cazgoldie813 right! Courtney was a bitch in my opinion
@@cazgoldie813 She "TRANSFERRED" from Los Angeles.
Early 2000's dancing movie was and still is the best no other can test
I always enjoy the Toros routine more than the Clovers, even though I understand from a technical standpoint, the Clovers edged them out due to the number of tricks and flips they had over the Toros.
It's been so long ago.. But still gets goosebumps when i see it 🤩🤩🤩
Am the only one who liked the Toros routine better? 🤣
I mean the Clovers' tumbling was harder, but the Toros had such clean lines :-)
Both were great, ok!!! Just brings childhood memories and I never knew cheerleaders were a thing till this movie.
"Cheerleader=Death" WHAT THAT MEANS!!!! 😂😂😂
By wearing that T-Shirt, he was kinda expressing that he was 'forced' to attend the event - which according to him was the dumbest thing in the world. Though by the end of the scene, he happens to really appreciate and applaud for what was happening there.
That would be the same reaction my lil bro would have
1:36 always my favourite bit
you know! 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
It’s been a long time since this movie aired … and I’m still a little bitter that the Tauros didn’t win. They were WAY more in sync. Mesmerizing performance
The torros routine gives me chills every time 🤩🥶
The stunt at 3:37 with the guys and girls is so good ☺️
3:14 *PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT THIS SONG IS !!!!!!!!!*

This and MeanGirls are the GODFATHER of Chick Flicks 💯💯💯
I've seen this movie countless times in spite not being into cheerleading, over-exaggerated teen drama, the music, and many other individual things in this movie but put together, they work.
It is the actors and actresses that made it fun to watch.
The. Best. Video. In. The. World. It's. Awesome 👌
At 3:00 What is the name of the song
I love the Toros' routine
Its funny, I didn't really get the actual meaning of this movie when I first saw it however long ago, but now I realize it was about cultural appropriation. The clovers def deserved to win.
Oh shoot it was?! Now that I think about it I definitely see it.
2002 when I first watched this movie, and until now its still my favorite movie.
4:28 my guy lookin so worried in the back (left)😂
3:05 you can see the stunt fall x
Omg

Clovers always deserved to win. Please put this on my gravestone.
3:27 my fav part
I live the song omg
I love the mime part. So cool
3:54 is so clean! The boys mimed the heck out of that routine
For some reason, the black judge's expression at 3:43 always cracks me up. He's like "Damn, whatever that just was, I've never seen before in all my years of judging cheerleading competitions!"
I hope he voted for the Torros in that case!
I hope you voted for the Clovers. They were much better.
