@@spica. Well, I pointedly said "not to overdo" it. Getting a license to drive a vehicle, lost its luster to me before I'd had it a year... and driving was becoming a chore.
What the video indicated was rushing everyone in sight and acting like a milestone (to be sure) was the very meaning of life.
Encouragement and celebratory superlatives allowed, getting a license is something that should be family and friends audienced, too... mostly. I can promise that cashier at Wally World who's driven for ten years and doesn't know your name is faking her smile. It's cool and all, but not her thrill to enjoy. THAT was my point... and where it gets "cringey" with the over-share. ;o)

I always assume, that if people want only talk to me and don't care about what i got to say, it means, that they are not worth of getting stressed or angry. If you must ASK for someone's attention, it meens, that they won't give it to you without asking, so, basically... they aren't even worth trying. At least in personal, private life relations. If you are at work, and it's about your boss or co-workers, then it's something else. They MUST listen to you as well, because communication at work is mandatory thing. I know, it's pure obviousness, but still many people need help with understanding that.

I really don't think "treat others as you would like to be treated" works very well, because not everyone wants to be treated the same. Some people want others to inquire about their troubles, and others want people to mind their own damn business, just for example. Also, I think a huger problem is being inconsistent between people (of otherwise similar levels of familiarity). For example, there is the popular myth that women are more empathetic than men. In actuality, women are more empathetic to other women, but not so towards men (very generally) Meanwhile, men (very generally) act as if everyone is their own moral agent, which for some reason is unappreciated by women that want to be coddled. This comes back to treating others how you'd like to be treated.

These make others loose respect for you too! Like though I take other's jokes , they don't accept when I crack one!
Also many a times I've helped ppl and stood with the ones who do not help me when I need them! I am really working on not worrying about what others think about me. The thing that gets me is when you find out or have a strong inkling that you've been talked about negatively by people who have real dysfunction going in there life compared to the minor issues of those they try to bring down.
For instance, after graduating college, I chose to move back home, save money and go without keeping up with the Joneses, in order to have a nice cushion for my older years and not be struggling paycheck to paycheck. Also, I cut ties with people I've gone on dates with when I see red flags, instead of continuing on with them making excuses for their bad behavior. This has lead to my dating life not being very exciting. But I rather wait until "the one" comes along who is worthy of my time and doesn't play games........basically a quality person who I'm evenly yoked with. Then I found out that my name came up in conversations and my whereabouts were discussed and talked about as if I were strange. The kicker is that those people had either had kids out of wedlock, were shacked up with men for years and never married (even though all they've wanted was to be married since teenagers), living paycheck to paycheck and/or no savings. So in there minds, I'm the oddball for not having dysfunction and preparing for my future so that I can have my own back. Yet, they have done a ton of things backwards and have the nerve to talk about me. It pisses me off that they don't see their dysfunction but talk about me as if I'm an alien.

@@Ominiumshadow24 you mean the US? Hm, so interesting... I'm from southern Europe and I have to say I see the difference in attitude, upbringing etc between Europeans and Americans... I think when they are selfish, they are selfish about different things, in different ways, different body language, everything is very visible. But we are here also getting a bit lured into this american style of harsh capitalistic selfishy materialistic approach to anything, as time is passing by. It's a carrot in front of nose saying "look how the successful countries succeded, certainly not by nurturing kind, warm, giving, altruistic traits in people. So, let us all just become more 'professional' and emotionless..."... And it reflects to private thoughts as well. But first of all I think it doesn't even work in the US and... Why not taking some other successful country for an example anyway? Scandinavia for example. And why to compare and what is the definition of success anyway? Also mentality of a place is a worthwhile factor to take into account... So if a place is historically or traditionally conditioned to have set of values that don't fall into material level of existence, those people might naturally to this day be less prone to act selfishly or in greedy manner. If you want to move abroad, maybe first roam around the world if you have opportunity, or learn from online reportages, simply to see different things and see what could work for you and what would not. Also have in mind grass indeed might be greener elsewhere but it might come with unexpected baggage in other areas of... "garden" of that future life elsewhere. Sometime a mentality offers lovely general altruism in society, but the culture is suffocating and it makes a foreigner suffer with all it's overwhelming traditional roles and expectations. They didn't do anything to the kid who accused my little brother of rape. Which almost lead him to kill himself. (His okay btw) and expelled the victim because he was defending himself from a fist fight. On top of that we have a restraining order and they broke it.
With me. I have a brain disorder that makes me faint (it's not epailpys) they lied to me saying I've failed my year level. Because I was taking to many days off (and yet they send me home when I have an episode?) And the final straw was when they refused to let me back at school to say that I've stop fainting. (Which is impossible). Mom actually took me shopping as it was the first period when it happened. Even on the good staff wanted to call the education department for this. (They were called before for my brother and the principal has now got a mark) When I left that hell of a school. I found out ON PAPER (not by the downloading thingy which I didn't get) that I was getting Bs and C+... This is a PUBLIC school. And now I feel better 😅

I'm just coming clean on what flaws I have and I'm always trying to get better but these things also have some explanations.
    1. Allowing people to interrupt me. This is one I have trouble with even when I try to speak up, I have anxiety that I'm taking cousling for to help with it
    2. Inurupting others. When in a conversation I don't mean to do this I apologize and let the person continue, this happens because if I'm in a conversation and don't get my point out when I think of it I end up on a topic that they were talking about 30 minutes ago and I get questioned on Why I don't say it or how I was rude to interrupt.
    3. Not going through with things. My parents do think I may have a small case of A.D.D. where I zone out for a really long time and to my surprise find myself doing something else
As well as a few more that weren't in the video.
    Accidentally coming off rude.
At my school ( Jr. High ) it is very common some one will be nice and I'm to scared to show a reaction so they get mad at me. Now people at my school claim a can't speak so they would know I have anxiety. (I'm not meaning to sound rude😓)
    Not talking/ being alone.
I can be hanging out with someone and not say a word and it's relaxing it feels comfortable to me but people normally don't like this. For part 2 (being alone) I tend come of as if I'm not in the conversation or sometimes walk away to charge my 'battery/energy' because I gain energy from being alone while talking takes away energy.
A dark sense of humor. I've only made a few friends and they never really stay because of this. They say the timing can be inappropriate and seem insensitive when truthfully I'm trying to lighten the mood. I am working on this and it seems affective so far
I'm confusing. I can get some grades that arnt the best but I've only seen the matrix once and completely understoond it at the age of 12. 😅
Those are some of my flaws if you actually cared enough to read this please tell me what some of your flaws are. ( you don't have to ) 👋😀

A timid , shy , unconfident person is result of being a push over for the most their life . Letting mfs walk all over you through out your life and not standing up will make you that way ( males or females. ) . Everytime you don't assert yourself in all possible situations you slap yourself in face and your self esteem and self confidence / worth takes hits . So time to stand up or else your own self respect is in others mercy . I've always asked myself why I was timid and lacked confidence . Well just recently I've finally came to the full realization that that was the primaral factor . 👊

    • @moonsyoungestsun6550

Very true!! I recently had a "wake up" call, after going through a deep self evaluation. I started thinking about every time, since a child, that I let people get away with insulting or bullying me. I would think about this, from time to time over the years, but this recent time was like someone screaming in my ear because it really hit home. It had always been hard for me to accept that I was not as strong as I could've been. Then recently, this is when I accepted that I couldn't control what they did or said to me in the past, but I could have controlled my responses, which happened to suck unfortunately. Most times I didn't stand up for myself and if I attempted to, my comebacks were not great. I would always think about the perfect comeback after the moment had passed. All of this led me to realize that not standing up for myself contributed to depression I've suffered with. I've gotten better with standing up for myself over the past several years. But now I am on high alert for anybody that says anything negative to me and make sure to handle it in the moment, so that I don't add to the list of regrets I already have. Just going through this process in my head has helped me to heal a little and feel more confident because I took the first step, which was being truthful with myself and accepting that I did the best I could in those moments, even if my best was weak as hell. 😕 And let me tell you that DOING A DEEP SELF REFLECTION IS A DOOSIE because you can't run from the truth deep down inside. Now, I'm in the 2nd phase which is not repeating the timid behavior of the past and checking people on the spot when they come at me the wrong way.

@@moonsyoungestsun6550 exactly 💯. Nib that shit in bud immediately , if not it escalates to worst disrespect . People will test you , don't let it slide or they'll become blood thirsty and ruthless . If the confrontation escalates to a fist fight well a black eye and bruises will heal , but you'll look in the mirror and say " I respect you " . Immediately , expeditiously , on the spot . Cant tolerate no bullshit or disrespect from no one because we're all equal , worthy and deserve respect . You'll see overtime the healing , self esteem , self respect , self worth and confidence start grow gradually. I was bullied too in my childhood and that shit stays on your mind forever , dwelling and dwelling . Those negative thoughts lead to depression . You're like " damn I went out like bitch and a coward " . Just embrace the adrenaline and build the self respect on times of checking . Check out The 50th Law book by 50 Cent and Robert Greene . Its about fear , confrontion and etc. He mention how in a school playgrowund a kid is bullying another kid and the victim says " please I don't want to fight " and guess what the bully does ? Sock yo ass and go home with a black eye because you gave the bully the confidence and permission to do so . You're not willing to defend yourself. So if you don't respect yourself, nobody will . It just doesn't feel like being yourself when you can't say no but always say yes and most of the time it's because you want to please other people but then the end route is that you feel like a prisoner and you can't say what you want to say anymore.
One time in school, it was a DT lesson when we were practising lockdown. This girl kept wanting to go out and get her snacks because she bought those snacks just for the lockdown. I was blocking the door and she was disrespecting me by stamping her feet on mine and standing on top of my feet. A boy came over and I repeatedly told her to stop but she gave me a 'I don't care' face and carried on so the boy told her to stop as well. She did, but came on again. So I grabbed her legs and told her to stop and wowee she was beginning to threaten me. So my friend told me that she can go and block the door and I looked at her with quite a serious face because I was angry at the time and that was like the first time I ever said no to her. She was...shocked, I would say. So long story short the girl stamping on my feet didn't go out to get her precious little snacks. But to be honest, she is really disrespectful and everytime someone tells her to shush or anything she rolls her eyes and such.

Excellent points. My husband never liked it when people would waste his time. On one occasion, he was supposed to meet with 2 volunteer superiors in an organization he belonged to and they didn't show up. So, he sent them a bill for his 2 hours of wasted time. He said that he did not expect to paid, but just wanted them to realize that his time had value. They never did that again.
On the other hand he always wrote down his commitments in his calendar -- and lived by it. He said that it didn't matter if it was the U.S. President or his long-time friend; they all had to "get on the square". That way, they could see that he respected their time as well.

Some toxic people would call your boundaries disrespect...when you choose to not use the internet for a couple of days they get mad when you say you believe you’re not what they think you’re they get mad
“sometimes it’s okay if they lose respect for me as long as I didn’t lose respect for myself”

I kinda found the Interrupting part confusing because its like mentioned, typically at times we do interrupt or get interrupted, but regular convos since after high school dont typically go that route. I do agree with and understand everything else!

This is so true, because it's what has happened to me. I lost my respect from my friends by bragging about my new plans and not getting it done. And it was impossible to gain their trust back. But we are all different human beings and we don't want to be forced to do what other people tells on me to do. And same for my friends. They couldn't stand my oppressing behaviour. At first I just did it for fun, but then it became a habbiy eventually making all my friend leave me. Just like I want to be cheered they want to be cheered to. They want to be respected and be praised for what they have done. That's what they expected from me which I couldn't give. I regret that a LOT.

    1. Allowing others to interrupt you easily (draw a line)
    2. Interrupt when others are still talking
    3. Pushing opinions to others like sales (or beliefs)
    4. Not following through (less talk more action)
    5. Being inconsiderate
    6. Being dishonest and lacking integrity
    7. Bragging too much
    8. You treat people based on personal gain

I think these tips are very good. I would like to add a consideration however. Respect has a passive and an active aspect. That is, there is a difference between NO respect and Disrespect. No respect is a neutral state where someone does not know you well enough to have an opinion about you; whereas Disrespect is negative and usually takes a more active (deliberate) form. Don't confuse the two.
