Awesome! Thanks Andrew
You also can enable the option "Reduce resolution on Macos" (or something la that) on the adanace tab on the graphics setting to avoid the retina resolution and get more FPS. This is great for the base M1 also
I want to said, thanks to your videos I have 2 years using the Prism Launcher, is the best option for Minecraft on Mac.
I always play with maximum render distance and all the settings to the max and I play with 160-200 fps always. And 100 with shaders.
Btw, because of the JVM's garbage collector, it's best not to use more than 6GB of RAM when using heavy resource packs and shaders. There are a lot of crashes reported because of that.
Thanks great tip I’ll bear that in mind next time :)
Yeah in addition to that 6GB is enough unless you're running a heavy modpack and if you have more than 16gb just assign 8 but besides that 6GB is enough for most of the modpack/instances and my recommendation is just simply download Fabulously Optimized modpack that is already made for optimization in vanilla mc (uses fabric that is the best for that)
thank you
Modrinth is super simple to set up and is very intuitive to use. You can install almost any mod and shader into the game in minutes.
Hey Andrew; can you do a tutorial on how to install vita3k on Apple silicon MacBook!!!🙏🙏🙏
i have a desktop Mac M1, but the highest fps I can get is around 80 and when using shaders even on very low mode its less than 20, I bought it in 2021 not sure if it has smth to do with it, its not like its old tho, and yes i disabled the fps limit, any suggestions?
hey Andrew, I wanted to ask something reg. UE4. I can't play ready or not on Mac m1 as the moltenvk patch is no longer there on GitHub
Hey Andrew , Can i do all the same in Macbook pro M1. how much FPS i may get ?
No matter what I do, it just keeps failing to launch the instance, saying it is not compatible with Java. The Java console says it is the latest version but the Launcher doesn’t work
I got it working eventually, with a different version of Java
Better install temurin Java over brew for the best macOS performance . Also make install “Fabously Optimized “ under the midrinth tab in prism
What? Could you explain?
You should test Helldivers 2 on M3
You can also just get the adrenaline or additive mod packs for performance, or performance and Optifine-like features respectively.
could you explain more?
How did you go from ~100 FPS before enabling shaders, to ~200 after?? Did you miss something?
I was about to ask the same thing
Sodium and others renders mods increase the fps.
before he enabled shaders the FPS was capped in the settings, he uncaps it at 8:32, that's why his FPS without shaders at 9:08 is so much higher
At 8:17 he changes the Profile settings from High (default) to low, that increased the fps.
He forgot to show replacing Java with an ARM native JVM
Can you do a Tutorial for Starwars Battlefront 2?
What apple silicon did u use for the Video?
He used the M1 Max
Could you try to make helldivers 2 run on a Mac ? I heard it’s complicated because of the easy anti cheat they have
You can’t play Helldivers2 on Macs. Just cloud gaming service
You are such a goat
What is the specs of this computer?
There is also the mcpelauncher for bedrock edition to play with your family on consoles.
any good options for running a bedrock world in this setup?
Bedrock is not compatible with Mac, but I’m thinking we can use if you have the iPhone or iPad version and you share screen to the Mac and connect the keyboard and the mouse. I don’t tested but I thinks is possible.
Prism Launcher is demanding that I create a profile name before launching the game and either telling me that the profile can't be created or telling me the name (which I already had picked) is already in use. Any way around this?
I have the same problem was there any resolution on this ?
@@damiendas2554 remove the account and add it again. worked for me
Actually, in my opinion the best way to play Minecraft on your Mac is with PlayCover running the iOS version. It runs at native Mac resolution and the frame rate locks perfectly to the refresh rate of your Mac. It supports controllers. It is Bedrock. It supports everything the iOS version does. It is by far the best way.
Bro playing bedrock 🤨
@@kekchanbiggestfan Who cares. I can play whatever I want. Bedrock has very good cross-platform play and I play with PlayStation players, so piss off.
Java version works with controller and crossover too
how can I install optifine with this launcher
Curseforge is even easier for mod setup
Minecraft now supports java 21
they just updated it, u know if it's worth reinstalling?
uh well I tried launching it with java 21 and it said it only supported java 17, so maybe Minecraft does, but not prism
Fun fact: you can use offline account in prism launcher and play Minecraft without logging into any accounts but cant access multiplayer.
Is there any way to play EAFC 24 on M1 Pro? Through parallels or crossover? Would be greatly appreciated!
PolyMC vs PrismLauncher ? 🤔
Do not install poly, install prism. Poly is a semi-dead project lead by a guy who wanted to own and make hard decisions on the project. The team of prism is the original team of poly after the bad guy forced them to fork it and it became prism. Hope it helps
@@tRaigeki I should reinstall it haha. Playing in poly for a months now 😁
Seems like a lot of the good shaders are incompatible with macOS because of Apple’s moronic approach to OpenGL
Some of them were directly written for AMD or Nvidia cards. Complementary shaders looks awesome on Java edition for Mac.
@@jlewis7221 recently I came across one called Photon which looks amazing, specifically the clouds/atmosphere and lighting effects, but it can’t run with Distant Horizons and can’t run maxed out on standard Minecraft on Mac because of outdated openGL on macOS. There are other ones I wanted to try that specifically state they don’t work on Macs because of macOS. There are great ones for Mac but the exceptional ones tend not to work
There is absolutely no reason to get the prism launcher, or any launcher other than the default really. 99% of people will be better off just getting the default launcher and installing sodium and fabric via the default launcher.
Prism is so slick for managing multiple instances and easily managing mods. Has the default launcher been rewritten to do all that easily?
@@jlewis7221 yes, there are now options to have different types of MC in vanilla. For example I have 1.20.6, 1.20.1, optifine, and fabric. And you can access the files of each with one button press
There is no way in HELL that I will instal that junk on my Mac. End of story!!
1) Saying Java 21 is needed for the latest build (so I can play with others on same build 1.20.6)
2) Lovely old Micro$oft account saying I don't own it despite owning/paying/giving it! on my profile
Lovely jubbly!
That’s what I had to install
