So, Drag Race IS problematic in several ways. They’ve definitely grown and evolved when it comes to the trans community. There are strides being made. From “You’ve got sh***le” to “she already done had herses” and changing “may the best woman win” to “may the best drag queen win.” US drag race just had their first trans winner of a regular reason. And the current reigning All Stars winner is trans too. It’s mostly the white cis gays fans that have an issue.
TBH, Drag Race’s main issue that has persisted over the years, is how it deals with non-black POC on the show. While white and black queens are able to show a variety of characters, personality and take advantage of stereotypes associated with their own, the Asian and Latinx queens are VERY pigeonholed and get critiqued for using their backgrounds and experiences in every challenge.
Please stop saying Latinx, it's the whitest shit ever to say Latinx.
