It depends on where you are in Canada. In Quebec you fail when you have less than 60 and 70 is a C for us too. And you need more than 70 in some classes.
I literally failed every test in my AP chemistry class in high school but managed to get an A in the class simply because of the curve. Literally everyone failed the class.

Same sometimes I feel bad, sad, depressed, or angry when I see someone in class draw better than me because I have always been the artist when I was little and having someone else get all the attention can sometimes upset me but I tell myself to not be so selfish and sensitive because other people can be good at things or even better at things than I am sometimes and I just need to learn to get over it.

what does graded on a curve mean? Is it an American thing? I've never heard it
shirley wang if everyone got 70s or lower and one or two people got higher then they'd have to change the grading so that more people pass they add more points to average out the grades more?? (Graded out of a 100 and generally the minimum is a 70 because below that is failing!)

shirley wang it gets more common as you get further in school. You see it a lot in college, since they don’t want everyone to just flat fail. A pass grade for Americans is a C which is 70% once you get to college.
It depends on where you are in Canada. In Quebec you fail when you have less than 60 and 70 is a C for us too. And you need more than 70 in some classes.
