If you are wondering what it's like to be attacked with mustard gas, stick your head under my duvet on a Sunday morning after I've had a vindaloo and 3 onion bhajis the night before.
I always liked that nomenclature: 'Forward Filling Depot'. It could be anything. But it always translates to: 'Mustard Gas Depot'. Possibly the most sinister of all ex military sites. The gas was often disposed of by burning, or simply pouring the fluid into deep pits, and burying it. The most fascinating, for several reasons, site, are the subterranean works at Rhydymwyn, in Wales. The site was also home to the innocent sounding 'Tube Alloys', which was actually the home of UK atomic weapons research during the last war.
The pond would be the location of buried storage tanks. Forward filling stations were based on the design of the prototype filling location built between Rhydymwyn and Northop in North Wales. This location was code named Woodside. Woodsides original purpose was for the storage of mustard produced in Rhydymwyn Valley Works while safer underground storage was being mined and dug out.
My grandfather had the zap put on his brain from mustard gas in WW1 , it affected my mums emotional develop is my conjecture because she's a we bit daft or maybe it was the Glasgow effect. My father was a British solder in WW2 as well, I have 12 war medals combined for both. Parents came over to the states in 1950 & started a life here. I miss the UK though it's been a while since my last visit, great channel 👍
Factory in my hometown made Chlorine based WMD up till the late 90s, City had at least 8 different toned Civil Defence Sirens that i remember, Probably more, Mines Rescue, Loonie & Prison Escape from Stanley Roid or Monster Mansion, The no name factories leak alarm, 4 min warning, Air raid, all clear and flood
Nanckuke in portreath Cornwall used to manufacture a fine grade of the yellow stuff. Not so many years ago they had to clean up the site as nasty stuff was leaking into the sea...folk
Near were I live used to be an old fisons fertiliser factory. In WW 2 it was used to produced chemical weapons. Some of the site is still fenced off and the site was knocked down in late sixties. The area that is still fenced off is checked regularly by people in full chemical bio hazard suits. Apparently this site will never come up for sale. ☠️

Very surprising nature can still grow over a contaminated chemical sight.
