    A lot of kids born in th 80's probably had a nan quite similar if not so overt. The second world war made people tough, especially in London. Nan is soft at heart but she had to put a tough front on to lead the family in many ways.

    Catherine Tate was on a chat show and Tom Cruise was also a guest. She told how she came up with the main character and did it live. Tom Cruise was doubled up laughing.

      I was born in the thirties all my Aunties were like that we did nothing but laugh they would speak like that after the war we needed that loved them ❤ ♥ 💕 💖

    Its sad but the truth is this type of nan is a rare and dying breed, as a kid from the 60s living in east and north london there loads of these types of nans and mums, nan tate brings back so many fond memories of me growinng up in the 60s 70s & 80s ❤️❤️

    Brian yer big Muppet!....I know you must have a lot of content lined up to watch, but please, at some point watch Catherine Tates 'Derek ' character, you won't be disappointed, also, anything from 'Little Britain 'which will provide you with a large selection of characters to discover. Fantastic to see the channel growing, keep up the great work!

    Would love to see you react to Joe Wilkinsons poem on 8 out of ten cats does countdown. It's not just the poem which is hilarious...it's Sean Lock's reaction, bless him. Never seen him laugh so hard.

    I watched " Nan Taylor"( The Catherine Tate show) live at Sheffield City Hall, England. Nan taylor walked around the crowd,it was so funny 🤣😅🤣😂 she also did her character Bernie the sex crazed Irish Nurse.the posh family is anothe great Performance.

    You really need to watch the Nan- ugly child sketch. V. funny. Also, look out for Catherine Tate on Graham Norton where she explains how she got the Nan voice - short but very funny too.

    I think,with any comic character being transferred from a sitcom or sketch show to the big screen,will be watered down and cleaned up and lose what really makes the character funny. Like Mrs Brown for isntance.

    Nan Taylor is a clone of my mother in law, and with the same vipers tongue when she wants, she’s a darling, aged 92 she can say whatever she wants to in my opinion 😂😂😂

    An American gets UK humour? Now thats a first lol. Although am guessing the dialect is still harder to understand as you struggled to understand "She aint in 'ere already is she?" Lol. Your reactions were funny. Its good to know that some Americans can get down with our British humour though.

    The part you couldn't hear around the 5:15 mark after the dwarf comment is "she isnt here already is she" as she looks around her bed for someone short

    You are undoubtedly about the best home channel executive, on the Tube right now, thanks for all the valuable time you dedicate for our enjoyment, you re a breath of fresh air, - if you ever get a bit bored with the King Boomer title, ?, you could slowly introduce yourself as "Nuclear " and re- brand your channel as" time well spent with a Nuclear reactor ", , ?!, , - just a thought ! , , , , , long live the King And Queen.     I think a few things this character says in her cockney accent, maybe a bit difficult for American ears.
    What you missed was - "she ain't here already, is she?".
