【Using my old CV UTAU VB】 "Fukujusou/福寿草" Cover Test 【ft. Sumuji Cheri】

- I'm not really into pranks and all of that April Fool's stuff, I just saw it as an opportunity to clarify all this UTAU mess and also for doing a fun challenge...
Okay, let's get straight to the point: I finally got to change my HDD again (don't worry, I didn't break my computer again or anything, it was just an upgrade) and UTAU didn't work either. (For those of you who didn't read the community posts, the problem is that everytime that I wanted to install the program having the locale set to japanese, UTAU wouldn't run correctly: I couldn't play any notes, or register other voicebanks that weren't Dekoko, it didn't even let me save or open a .ust project!) Having this issue in two different HDDs makes me think the cause of this is something on the version of Windows I have. But the point is that I won't be able to install the program in any other computer, which meas that I won't be able to use UTAU correctly at all.
And how did I do this cover? Well, the only way UTAU would run decently on my computer is WITHOUT the locale set to japanese, leaving me only with that gibberish version of the program that can only read a few voicebanks and has so many glitches that it's almost unusable (it doesn't read any sampler but the default resamplers, sometimes it doesn't render the .wav files correctly, etc...). BUT it's still something! Something enough to run super-basic romaji voicebanks like Cheri.
So, am I going to stop using utau? I'll probably use Cheri and Teto (one of the few vcv's that happens to work on this version) just in some occasions, but I won't be able to use like 99% of all the vb's you can think of. I'll try to give my beautiful child (low-quality, choppy, yet lovely child) the attention she deserves too! I may not be able to record a super complex brand new voicebank for her, BUT I've figured out how to edit her samples so that I can make a CV-VC version out for her CV! The consonants of the samples are pretty long and I think she only sounds choppy because of the oto...
About the cover, if you notice some of the "n" and "s" transitions are a little bit better than usual, that's because I've been working with the oto, but she's still a CV (that's why I think she could sound smoother if I edited her samples)
Also, yes, I've done some changes in the design of her clothes if you ask...
And why a silly cover with Cheri instead of something more serious with Teto? I don't know, I wanted to let you know I didn't forget about her... I also want to stay as active as possible before school starts in next week.

Aw, don't make this unlisted! Tbh I like the quality/sound of this a lot. It's very nostalgic and pretty regardless of the bank being CV. Sounds unique in itself.

Same here, i like the more robotic sounding utaus, so this is awesome to me, i cannot believe that this was supposed to be an april fools thing because it it so excellent, same with the art

Thank you!!! :D Yes, it's an old utau I did at the beginning of 2018! I've tried to record new voicebanks for her several times, but apparently my voice has changed so much that I couldn't completely mimic the tone of the original recordings I did when I was like 13, and that's why she never appeared in the channel since then...
@@mckatherine oh, that's a shame... hha, perhaps you should make a new voicebank for her with your current voice and make it the new her, the old voicebank being called Sumuji Cheri "child" or something related with cherries!
@@memeow I could but I'm too attached to her old voice and I don't want to make her end up like so many vocaloids that lost their tone with their newer voicebanks... Anyway, if I were to do that, at least I'd have to finish that CV VC from the original VB first. I don't want people to use a newer VB just because it's smoother rather than because of the different tone (like we users have to do with Vocaloids like Rin V4)
@@mckatherine mm, i see. and yeah, that's totally fair! sometimes the original is better than the a newer remake of it. and sometimes the more troublesome things of the original makes it all more satisfying when the result turns out the way you wanted it after hard work!

I have the exact same problem with utau 🙃 I’m going to try and install it again next time i get a new computer but it’s so hard to troubleshoot with my Japanese level where it’s at... rip. Anyway I love this song and I think it sounds nice!

Also, there’s a way to convert a cv *voicebank* to vcv...just that all the tutorials have been taken down and I can’t find any that still work.

Sounds great! But one last ditch attempt? Did you download UTAU AFTER changing your locale or before? If you downloaded it with a non-Japanese locale, it will be totally fried when you try to install on a Japanese locale.
Yes, I downloaded it after changing the locale. I also tried doing the opposite just to make sure before giving up and it didn't work either. It's like my windows can't work at all with the japanese locale (when I tried to run with the japanese locale other programs that had worked fine before I had similar glitches)
@@mckatherine one last solution! There is a program called virtualbox. It allows you to run a virtual machine on your computer - so an entirely different computer ON your computer! You can try running a copy of windows 7 or something in case it's an issue with 10, and then use utau on the virtual machine.

@@collinl.4898 I installed the last version on the website, the one that says "2013/9/5 最新版 v0.4.18e"
@@mckatherine A friend of mines had an error with the same version but I use that one too. Mayhaps try an older vers
@@collinl.4898 I did try that, it seems like my Windows fails to read japanese characters correctly and ends up with all those errors...

English is not my native language either, so don't worry! And thank you for all your lovely comments! As I said, Teto is one of the only VB's that work in my gibberish version of Utau, so I'll surely use her more. I just hope you don't mind the weird sounds that Resampler produces with the backround noise of the recordings because it's the only sampler that works...
