One of the most underrated talented singer/ songwriters of all time. found her through back to me, listen to her everyday! Found her on the River in Boise, Idaho
Just had the good fortune to catch her at the Venice West in Los Angeles - supremely intimate venue. A shame she isn't selling out larger venues, but so happy she is back on the road. What a talent. And Colin is such a great player on her earlier work.
Kathleen is a true artist. She is a prodigious talent who has made some of the most beautiful and astutely written country-folk songs of the last 20 years. I was hooked as soon as WFUV radio in NYC (“Music discovery starts here.”) played “Back to Me” in 2005. She could have much more of a following if she compromised her vision. That she hasn’t is a testament to her musical integrity.
Community Radio one of the few sources of "new" music. There is so much talent out there. It's a shame, and our loss that so much doesn't reach a wider world. KVMR Nevada City, California.
This was my introduction to Edwards. I stumbled onto this broadcast and was hooked! If there was any other female I professed my love and adoration for, my wife would fry my ass, but in this case, I believe she understands!
This concert is sublime. Live music at its best. Only just found her music this year - what a beautiful discovery. Saw her in Brighton UK recently - a perfect set.
She has a cafe here in Ottawa (in the Stittsville neighbourhood). It's a great feeling to have a massive talent here in our city that holds to her roots and supports the local economy!
I saw this when it was broadcast in 2005. Immediately bought the album- someone compared her to Neil Young. Spot on- love the riffs that rip to the bone -so much emotion with each song. Followed her ever since. I am a singer songwriter/ Guitar player and I play some of her songs in my sets.
Just learned about Kathleen via a Spotify suggestion. Wow what a talented band so pure, authentic and tight. I have a lot of catching-up to do. Thanks for your terrific music. Blessings & Best Wishes...
Well, it was originally posted about 17 years ago but pulled down. What you see now are the "likes" indicated with this re-posting. Believe me, Kathleen's had a very large, loyal, and passionate following for a very long time. Welcome to the club! Note, also, just how amazing her then-husband Colin Cripps is.
Such an undervalued Songwriter and emotional Performer who seems to strike a chord with modern-day women struggling to establish their respective roles in our vibrant communities... Attended her debut Toronto, Ontario CD launch with her former gifted husband and producer COLIN CRIPPS serving as MC... Yet, despite Colin's guitar prowness, KATHLEEN completely STOLE the show! Her honest storytelling descriptions captured the Entire Room!!! MUST SEE Live!!!!! Simply INCREDIBLE!!!! She's the REAL Deal!!!!
Never could understand how people can sing and play at the same time -- I can do neither. Hope your music gives you as much pleasure doing it as it gives me and others listening to it.
Man... WHAT. A. SET. I especially love the apparent 'mistake' she made during Six O'Clock News (23:25). You get to more clearly hear the rhythm guitar's backbone of the tune. What a solo by Collin! I have this on repeat now.
Never saw this before. She is great!!! I have a ticket to see her Sept 20 at the Birchmere in Alexandria Va. last time I saw her was 5 years ago at the same place
This is the best song for those times when you want to tell your _shady-criminal-on-and-off-boyfriend_ that he ought to treat you better. If for no other reason than the fact that you *know where the cops hang out* - and you might just have "a talk with them" if you feel like it... (Needless to say, this tactic can be a bit hazardous and should only be applied if you know yourself to be one TOUGH cookie...)
Kathleen's early albums/CD's where Colin played lead and produced were outstanding, but unfortunately when they stopped sleeping together (er, umm... that is collaborating together) her subsequent lead guitar players and producers couldn't attain the magic that she and Colin were able to achieve. Sad, but unfortunately that's what happens with many female artists. Just the nature of the sexist business.

agree her songs should be in movie sound tracts very visual

I saw her at the Bowery Ballroom in 2003 and I felt it pretty damn good.

Singers, songwriters, a dime-a-dozen. Singer/songwriters? Dare you to find better than Kathleen. So glad she found the muse again.
This is terrific! Remember seeing this on TV back in 2005, had never heard of her before, was blown away!
Failer was a great record full of memorable songs. So glad she's back to touring in 2024 after quitting for a spell.
One of the few artists who puts a lump in my throat.
i think she is better live than on record. this was a perfect concert
My face couldn't make you leave it behind. Maybe 20 years in state will change your mind. Preach, Kathleen.
i always come back for this live version of independent thief soooo good
Her songs are like vivid Annie Proulx short stories put to music…excellent!

Love Kathleen

As a guitarist, I was simply captivated by this solo in the first song.
Colin Cripps - tremendous player 🤘

This is such a great show. Everybody is on top of their game here!
Brilliant! Her voice, passion, musicianship, songwriting…. Fantastic. I don’t even own hockey skates.
#TAVA #filmosoundamps The guitar sound is coming from a film projector converted to a guitar amp. Magical sound via extreme talent.
Kathleen and Colin are magic. 🤘❤

Saw her last night at the Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival. Her band is tight. I'm a fan. Great lyrics and playing.
That is great. So wonderful to hear those songs live.
Great band. Great songs. Great performance.
Standing ovation!

That was done on purpose.

Does anyone know where to watch Jewel's performance on Austin City Limits? It's one of the best performances I've ever ever seen.
Her 2000 performance is here. ruclips.net/video/MwgtKtPao8g/видео.html
ACL needs to have Kathleen Edwards on again!
Would be great
