I think what he’s trying to say is that music used for worship should not focus on us having a good time and getting blessings. Not all “soulish” music is bad, it has different purposes. It’s not wrong to make a song about something other than God, it’s a form of storytelling that’s been a part of human society since the dawn of time. (The “greatest of songs” in the Bible is about sex, after all.) But music used for “sacred” purposes should be distinct. I work as a cleaner in a very worldly environment with loud music like a disco and yes, it sounds crass and hypnotic, like it’s a form of mind control with pop music. When we try to make our church worship services sound like that-like rock concerts with colored lights and dark interiors, loud speakers blasting repetitive emotional lyrics, asking for God to come down and touch us, make us feel something, make my heart pound, set me on fire, etc, that’s getting into the soulish realm . It was written by a person who when asked who the “you” was, he said it is whoever you want it to be. God is restoring worshipping in spirit and in truth and calling us to rebuild the tabernacle of David in and through our praise and worship that is focused on Him. This message resonates and confirms what God has been revealing to me lately. As a worshipper, gospel music forms a large part of my quiet time with God. After I attended a gospel music ministration from a foreign/visiting minister at another church, I ended up feeling a spirit of depression/heaviness for days and could not understand why or what triggered it until I prayed. The Holy Spirit revealed that it started after the ministration because a spirit was released by the minister. When I did a search on him, I understood why… After this, the Holy Spirit led me to audit my playlist and delete certain Christian music. I remain sensitive to the effect of Christian music and I am constantly checking with the Holy Spirit to ensure that I do not unknowingly release demons over myself through any Christian music. I have had attacks from the spirit of lust from listening to Christian music from some groups. May we grow in the gift of the discerning of spirits, as we are in the end times and the deception will only increase and become more subtle so that even the elect are deceived (Matthew 24:24).

No one really knows the depth of depravity they fell into while being apart of the world. Only God knows. Deliverance can be instant with some things. Other things may take a while to get rid of. It depends on the person. Some people sinned harder than others in certain aspects of life. Don't be so quick to write someone off just because you were able to easily lay something down vs someone else in that same category. Epic Games is the company that made Fortnite. They added a game mode to where you play music of this world. I did not like what I was hearing and the moment they announced Billy Ellish or whatever you call her, I got hesitant and decided not to support that game company anymore. Since the Lord wants us to love Him with our soul also, I don't see a conflict with involving our soul in Church with music at times. @Maria-kr8mh being a new creature in Christ doesn't mean a person is perfect from the get go. You don't come into salvation clean and pristine. It's a process one must go through to be free. No one really knows the depth of depravity they fell into while being apart of the world. Only God knows.
Deliverance can be instant with some things. Other things may take a while to get rid of. It depends on the person. Some people sinned harder than others in certain aspects of life. Don't be so quick to write someone off just because you were able to easily lay something down vs someone else in that same category. That just may be the deep stronghold governed by the strongman in that person's life they have to continually war against til those chains are broken.
I waited 6 years til God delivered me from one of my problems. We have to continually pray for the strength of people to be built up in the inner man. They'll eventually be made free if they stay in the process.

We call them 7/11 Songs; The same 7 words, sung eleven times in a row. Since the Lord wants us to love Him with our soul also, I don't see a conflict with involving our soul in Church with music at times. Just as the devil knows how to use music to stir up people for his purposes, it's an imitation or perversion of God's ways.
