I, um... When I started playing and hit level 80 I cried almost every normal Eden raid. I was *embarrassingly* bad, at least to myself. In those raids and alliance raids, which were current at the time.
But I kept practicing by simply playing for a few hours a day, running a few roulettes while online, grinding the raids and alliances for the gear with my eager FC mates lol. And after a few more months I was dying less. After a year I was teaching sprouts. I got pretty damn good at bard too. It's a skill. It's MANY skills.
Also, I have multiple illnesses going on, including anxiety, ADHD, and hand pain, and I'm not saying a disability *can't* keep people from succeeding.
But I have bad anxiety, and I have managed to PUSH PAST IT. It's possible, and speaking for *everybody* with anxiety or ADHD in that we supposedly need these accommodations...no, it's not really simply your disability in this case. It's about you being too hard on yourself which pushes you to quit.
I don't think mechanic "difficulty" has gone up between EW and DT. They just hurt more lol.
Also also, a quadriplegic posted a VOD of him playing FF14 lol.

Agreed. I used to have terrible anxiety at the though of playing a healer for years in this game since 1.0. Friends convinced me to give it a go, and right now I've been a healer main since Shadowbringers. Once you get over the initial sensation of fear and let yourself just be and learn, it's not that bad. People are their own worst critic, but that doesn't mean you have to let that critic dictate your ability to learn and play a job.
For what it's worth, I'll probably never be rid of my anxiety (AuDHD/OCD), but I make a conscious choice to not let it control what I am allowed to do in the game to have fun with friends or solo. I know that if I practice at a new thing, eventually it'll stick and what used to bother me simply won't anymore.

    • @Yokai_Yuri
      @Yokai_Yuri 2 месяца назад

Well, mechanixs went up in DT. It's basically created to kill noobs a couple of times. Let me give you an example.
Endwalker had "Dead's end" as the final MSQ dungeon. First boss was super easy to understand and even if you die once to it, the next time you face it, you'd do so much better. Second boss was just "avoid aoe'. Third boss was more of the same.
Now let's compare it to Alexandria, D.T final MSQ dungeon. First boss is basically pay attention to telegraphed AoE that happens in the order something spawn. Then it spices it up a bit by doing cone AoE that significantly reduces the safe space so you need to positio yourself properly.
Second boss has AoE that sre not too obvious and happen in both the arena and outside the arena, since all it's purple, it's easy to mistake what is mech and what is not. Third boss has not so obvious AoE and cleaves, it also puts the player in a multi task( kill adds while avoiding stuff)
As you see there is a HUGE difference in endwalker avoid aoe -only, to this.
Also Queen Eternal >>> Endsinger, and by a lot.
Upping the difficulty a bit is healthy for everyone. You'll enjoy more the game rather than sit there, watch aoe lights hit you for low damage and hit the boss till dead

It's not even the difficulty that these players aren't used to. It's the consequences for failing. You can no longer just coast through the casual content. You are punished for every failure, sometimes fatally. I came back to DT after not playing for nearly 4 months, because I was so insanely bored with the game. None of the content was compelling enough to keep me subbed to play it. Now I am running through the new dungeons and trials just fun or just because there's one mechanic I struggled on. If you're invested enough to give your opinion on the state of the game, then you need to be invested enough to actually make the effort of improving yourself, instead of crying to the devs to let you pass with a D when you got straight zeros on every assignment.

Bold of you to assume the player base knows how to play their job. Especially when the game has a bad leveling experience on most jobs that do little to nothing to teach players how their kits work in endgame. Imagine if WHM had lower level versions of Temperance, or Aqua veil so that they could learn about mitigation sooner. It would also give more things for players to gain at lower levels making progression more satisfying.
It's also stupid how some jobs feels so incomplete before certain levels like RPR with enshroud or to a lesser extent, inner release and continuation. Like these abilities significantly change how the job plays but they are all unlocked so late. Giving players less time that they could have to learn their jobs

Speaking of WHM why does freecure still exist? Having lower versions of temperance and aquaveil doesn't make a whole lot of sense because no one would use them anyways. The healing output in normal content is so low there is no need for them unless you are already skilled and trying to optimize damage output.

I played GW2 since launch and still play.. and FF14 from launch 1.0 up to....a little past the end of endwalker.
I often comment gw2 is very much an "alone together" game. The open world meta events are *MASSIVE* talking 30, 40, 50 people but you don't have to be in a party to contribute and get rewards. There are also no gates on progression or story, in fact you can easily hit the level cap and finish the story without seeing any dungeons at all.
Nobody in GW2 is locked out of BiS gear. if you like raids, do raids for BiS. Prefer PVP.. do that.. Enjoy open world more solo play, do that. it'll take a while but you can get BiS like anyone else. This is **NOT** the case in FF14. But to be fair in the open world of FF14 you're not bumping into mobs that can one-shot outside of a mega-fate, GW2 isn't quite that forgiving *cough* Heart of Thorns.
lastly for people with issues that impact play the community have developed "Li" or "Low Intensity" builds for nearly every class able to hit 20k+ DPS with 3 or less buttons. It sounds like Shadow Darkmoon, if I got that right, needs to be playing GW2 more, it's better suited to them, but I get it the FF14 story is absolutely spectacular and the world is great.

Hell they created trusts FOR TRIALS in DawnTrail. So this idea that there's nothing you can do alone in XIV is laughable, but also if you (Not saying you in particular, just this person on the forums) want to play alone DONT PLAY AN MMO!
Like there are a wide plethora of single player games. Go dick around in Skyrim, or Fallout, or Animal Crossing. Play a Mario game, play Sonic, play The Sims, do something that isn't joining a massively online space and then fucking whining about your own crippling anxiety when you're the only person who controls the buttons you press. It all comes down to dedication, if you don't want to invest some time in learning how to play the game properly and for some reason you haven't learn that throughout 10 years of content, then that's a big YOU issue and not the game or devs fault.

If people think the normal content is "too hard" they should strike. Refuse to play the content, and the game. Show the devs who's boss!
Meanwhile the normal players of this game will enjoy our "hard" normal content.
I love how they say the "want an option for people who just want to experience the story." That's LITERALLY what normal mode is for. They made normal mode because people were upset they couldn't experience the coil story because they weren't good enough for the fights. The difference is that those raids were more equivalent to savage mode dungeons these days, so normal mode IS LITERALLY the story mode. If you can't do normal mode raids, you have no intention to put ANY amount of effort into the game and you have no right playing this content.

There exists only 2 realities where these people find a solution
either a) they get filtered by very fundamental content and concede that this game just isn't for them and that the devs shouldn't cater to them
or b) they dedicate a little time and effort to just learning the fights and jobs and get good.
I sincerely hope they choose the second option. I don't want them to leave, but there's no way that these people aren't literally just wiping to a boss once, giving up, and complaining on the forums that the new xpac is too hard.

These people will cry whenever they can't just walk in, win on the first try, and get their reward for minimal effort. They need to be ignored. There is nothing wrong with learning by doing, in three weeks, it will be an easy clear if they just do it.

    YAPPING INBOUND:
The hop/skip in difficulty for DT is objectively noticeable. If some people feel nearly everything in EW was too easy/braindead and some of those same people actually had fun in casual content this expansion; Thats also an admission of that fact. So imo, the complaints are justified. Its been years of baseline casual content, optional or otherwise, that clearly hasn't been like this. So ofc theres gonna be some rub. It's a similar feeling to running a quick trial roulette expecting the usual Titan and getting Barbariccia instead. So I dont understand why people dont get their complaints tbh.
All that said, as a casual who *did* enjoy all the fights in DT so far; I am absolutely NOT advocating to return back to the previous standard. This expansion is giving me a taste and a *slight* understanding on why people like more challenging content. Like i wanna see and do more of the ex's while their still somewhat current, maybe try out some previous savages before potentially tackling the current/future ones. If i ever reach that point, who knows? Before, an ultimate (something like UwU, im not crazy😂) was a non-starter; But now the *thought* getting good enough to actually clear one is kinda exciting😅

I remember during previous raid tier, that some portion of the casual playerbase were complaining, that the rewards from savage like mounts and such, should be available to the casual too, not just the sweaty raiders. Even suggesting, to put savage mounts on the mog station, so that they can buy them. That would completely defeat the point of doing those raids, to have something unique as a reward, that most players can't as a symbol of that achievement of at times spending weeks to clear the tier.

    I agree with you; the content needs to be slightly more difficult as we're in the 100's now, we need something more engaging than "in-out-spread-stack" mechanics, this Dawntrail is perfect for that! I've also stated for a while;
    Be aware of the extreme mechanics they'll dumb em down and make em Normal Content - which is precisely what has happened;
Be aware of ultimate mechanics because eventually those become Savage Mechanics - Savage Mechanics in turn becomes Extreme Mechanics and Finally Extreme Mechanics become Normal mechanics.
The idea is to watch for the clues; this is the difference between Normal and Hard/Extreme content!! We need to call for MORE harder stuff as time progresses, not easier. The harder the content the more engaging it is for everyone; heck the last trial of the Expansion at the current time; i did Tank LB3 - close to 4 times because i saw a similar structure in Alexander. (multiple times!)
This call to make things easier is not fair on those who actually enjoy the game play - who aren't exactly savage raiders.

this just reminds me of when i replayed arum veil.
boss 2 now has telegraphs instead of how it used to be where you actually had to watch the boss and their cast bars to find out if they are going to do a frontal cone or a 360 circle
when i first saw it i was just thinking "are people having that big of a problem with this guy?"
but they kept the no telegraphs in the gladiator dungeon?
only thing i can think of is that they might have even forgot that even existed
overall i am very happy with the challenge we have now
i will say the only thing i had any problems with in the msq was Alexandria first boss tic tac toe and even that was just because it was my first time through the dungeon. after i did a few runs i had it down
i wouldn't consider myself a hardcore player since this is the first time I'm doing current content extremes
even with the current extreme 1, i would not consider it a fight. i would say its more of a dance. there is little to no variance besides "watch out guys he's going ice first instead of lightning"
with previous extremes you could skip stuff if done right. is that probably because i was doing old fights? yes, probably. but i will say this extreme 1 feels very scripted
    now for the raids
to make it short i had more problems with panda than i did with current raids
raid 2 does feel a little like a bullet hell at times, but it definitely feels perfectly fine
as someone else said it just feels like they made the penalty for failure stronger
for example in raid 4 if you just stand there when she repeatedly shoots the ground because "its not doing that much damage" then you just die. you don't get a few vuln stacks and pushed on your merry way (and yes i know that its basically just a mech to tell you to move)
with her fourfold blasts if you face tank one shot and your not a tank, well there goes 90% of your hp now don't do it again
this was a much needed difficulty raise (even though it didn't raise much if at all)
even if its just from the new mechs i believe it will bring a new joy to the game.
after i have done the dt dungeons i am actively happy when i get one for rolos and quite sad knowing ill be bored out of my mind if i don't
dt dungeons are the explicit reason i turn on limited leveling roulette now

Ummm… I love Savage - But I will say that it’s a refresher to have some better difficulty spikes in the normal content overall. The expert dungeons and even some of the other dungeons were lots of fun and some of the Instadeath mechanics in Strayborough were lots of fun.
We really need debuffs on normal (not the hard ones like Savage, but maybe a few easy ones to help players get wet on what debuffs are) or even more boss tell mechanics to bridge the gap between normal and EX/Savage
Normal raids are still casual content - and IMO should be a bit harder. Slightly harder than normal, but not quite as hard as Extreme. There’s a middle ground and people can either play it and enjoy it or choose to not play it.
Why do people love Elden Ring? It doesn’t hold your hand or walk you through it. Challenge is a good thing. As a gamer I like to be challenged.

The problem here is not the fact that the mechanics are "Hard", or difficult or not catered for casual/catered to hardcore/etc.
The problem is, we are now having players who don't want to learn the most BASIC of mechanics in normal raid.
None of the mechanics in the new raid is new. Visually different, but there's nothing new about them. Half-Room cleaves, AoE, going in circle, dropping puddles, etc.
You see what the boss does once or twice, and that's it you should have a rough idea now what you're MEANT to do. Even if there's 2 mechanics coming up, you just add the 2 together and stand where its fine.
But no. We're now getting folks who get upset for dying when its their FIRST TIME going into the fight. They're upset that they can't go into a content and clear it without dying. They're upset that they died to a mechanic they've never seen before, and think its because people asked it to make it difficult. They don't know the mechanic timing, order or tells on their first pull, and think that this is catered to hardcore players now and it's utterly ridiculous.
A "Hard" or "Difficult" content as of now, is Savage and Ultimate content.
Those are 10 to 15minute long marathon of fights with atleast 2 to 3 different phases (Savage) or going up to 7 (Ultimate). You gota learn over 10 or 20 different mechanics and what you need to do depending on your role/what marker you get. And finally, they're difficult cause if any player dies in those content, it usually means you are NOT clearing it anymore. Ultimate? If you lose 1 person during certain mechanic it's a instant wipe. And along with all this, you have to play your job decently, and meet the enrage timer.
Normal has no enrage timer. Normal mechanic won't insta-wipe your party if 1 person dies. Normal lasts at most 5 to 7 minutes. Normal raid (As if now) has you learning at most 5 different tells, and with different combinations of atleast 2.
So to anyone whose complaining that content in Dawntrail is hard, simply admit it. You simply don't like "failing". You don't want to die in "easy" content. You don't want to put in the smallest effort to learn and memorize the most basic mechanic. You don't want people to think you're bad for dying in content. BUT yet, you want the gear, you WANT the reward, you WANT things still be handed to you, you want to act like you did a good job from all of this.
FFXIV has multitude of content catered to casual, midcore, hardcore, RPer's, influencers, Gposers, housing enthusiates and more. Either you put in the effort where it's needed, or you step away and stick to what you're more comfortable with until you feel you're better at attempting it again.

Hot take on the anxiety angle:
I have anxiety in several forms, been medicated over half my life, and get disability for it so I am well aware with their struggles. HOWEVER... If you refuse to challenge your anxiety, you are giving it power. So how did I end up finding a static and clearing on day 1? Fellowship finder. I found players, met them, and stuck with the ones I made friends with. I work on myself and understand that there will be times when my anxiety becomes and obstacle, but if I give up when it shows its face, I'd be giving up my freedom. So I learn, I adapt, and I work on my anxiety out of game, and my rotation in game.
That being said, if that or any person wanted help, I would gladly help them with either anxiety and coping mechanisms, or Viper and Samurai optimization. Everyone begins somewhere, but you cannot expect to be at "Starting to learn" and demand that the skill get easier, instead of getting better.

Caters to a small minority.... Vierra EXIST because of small minorities, if the contents not for you don't play it or in all honesty improve yourself, the game's difficulty hasn't changed in years and needed to update at some point, yes the dungeons are minimally harder (like a 3 to a 4 in difficulty), fights are SUPOSSED TO be "hard" till you learn how the mechanics work, whipping happens, that's why we're allowed to respawn and try again.... you don't want to TRY to learn mechanics, then just go watch the story on youtube cause if you think the game is gonna coddle you and give you a shiny participation medal for showing up, leave, they've even givin the casuals a tutorial with the new jobs where you get a quest JUST to show you their basic kits, cause players out here don't know how to read the tool tips...

The game is designed for everyone to have something to do, crafting, dungeons, glamours, events, trials, raids, msq, housing.etc
Casual content is content that is of easy accessibility and common and repetitive.
    Normal raids
    Trials
    Extremes
    Savages
    Ultimates
Are all POST/ENDGAME CONTENT meaning you have to go out of your way to access/unlock and isn't required nor necessary. OPTIONALS
if Normal raids was too easy then the complainers would complain that savages are too hard, if they made those too easy those same complainers would then complain the Ultimates are too hard.
Not all content is designed to be played by you the player.
You just have access to play what ever you choose its all choices.
I don't do beast tribes, i don't do side quests, i don't do the aether currents unless required for something, i dont do the sight seeing stuff. I don't think those things should be simpler or removed its stuff thats not for me if you are complaining about something then its not indended for you
If you think Normal raids are too hard then its content that is not designed for you go do something else.

It's called MSQ, Gold Saucer, gathering and crafting, treasure maps. Gpose, roleplay, chat. There are MANY activities you can do in the game that require no combat skill whatsoever.
And let's be real here, even normal mode raids aren't hard. It's a learning process, you see something happen, you next time know better how to deal with it. This is basic videogame design 101, because without some kind of failure state or hinder to the player, there is no "game" to play. Game that you always win is not a game at all.

8:57 i disagree, the skill level required to clean Normal raids is nothing impressive, after playing 5 expansion + DW a player is supposed to gain a certain level of insight.
Example: i play with 2 friends and the best part about doing new dungeons/trials/raids is when the 3 of us try to figure out mechs before they actually happen, unless something is completely new and wipes the party, you can usually get by just fine even on a first try.

Like, it was mentioned before hand when Dawntrail was announced that they will try to add a bit more challenge to the content based off players feedback and now they got what they wanted (and from what I've seen so far looked rather fun and engaging despite not being at DT proper yet).

I think the use of standardized markers really makes fights really stale. This is coming from an ARR player. Like seeing a stack marker for the 100th dungeon makes me so sleepy. I don’t mind having standard mechanics of course, but the lack, or fear of, adding new mechanics and markers really showed in shb and EW normal content. At least now we’re adding, at least, a single new marker each dungeon and I am glad we’re finally expanding our limited glossary of them!

All I'm hearing from most of these people is that they don't want to put even the mildest bit of effort to learn or have anything even remotely challenging. Dying is a part of the learning experience, and repetition is an important part of mmorpgs.
And I don't really want to see the excuse "well its casual content its not supposed to be challenging" because that is a brain dead take. Casual content can still offer some semblance of challenge, but the punishment for failure should weigh less in comparison to other difficulties (which it already does).
I hope they don't further water down the game to cater to these people. FFXIV has a sweet and accommodating entry point as it is. And this is level 100 content, surely you learned something all this time from playing? And if you leveled skip then that's on you. I can't believe this is even a discussion to be had when we're at level fucking 100. Cry babies.

That last part about Alexander 12 hit hard lmao
I had half a group in Normal Raids Roulette the other day that that was unable to do it. Me and my friends queued as four dps and got thrown into A12 with 2 random tanks and 2 random healers.
The tanks didnt understand the cleaves, ran into the DPS with AoE tank busters (to be fair that one doesnt have the standard marker but alas)
The healers didn't understand the spread/stack markers, went into the time warp things etc.
Even some of my friends struggled a little due to the non-standard markers and it having been some time since we last did it.
After two wipes, someone voted to abandon duty. But we "held them hostage" and I went through to explain the mechanics, even put them into deepL to translate as one of the healers spoke in french only, and lo and behold, we completed the fightout without any further major hiccups.
People these days wipe once or twice and immediately go into "Nah I dont wanna deal with this" and leave, instead of adapting and learning. Its sad

I think by the time you reach DT, you should know how to play and get used to some stuff. By the time all other player wear max ilvl gear for the content, it'll be far easier than currently is.
From intimidated by uwu, nowadays I can do uwu, casually. so yeah a bit harder difficulty in normal mode can train them too. Even extreme now is not as intimidating as my first extreme, EW ex2.

You guys severely underestimate just how shit some players are and also just how dumb they are.
And yes, normal raids are casual. They shouldnt be, IMO. But theyre casual in the sense that I can queue into it by myself on day one, get a completely random DF group and still clear either first or second try. Honestly I wish they were a bit harder but I dont whine about it cause I have savages. I guess these "people" (who know how to play the game btw tyvm lol) want an easy mode.

I used to think progging TEA was absolute hell and here I am at time stop, I'm half blind and epileptic. Did I give up? No i didn't, and I'm a full time college student. These casual players lack patience and the ability to learn the mechanics, if other disabled gamers can clear ultimates then OP can easily do normal content. Breaks are also perfectly fine, but to bitch about normal content is insane.

What I find funny, is that a lot of these people have the same mindset as the toxic "gigachad pro gamers" that throw tantrums and rage quits or kicks/ban after a first wipe that they complain about.
"It's frustrating to keep wiping to the same boss again and again." If they were able to get into the savage/ultimates fight, they absolutely would be the ones to gatekeep and kick people for "wasting everybody's time".
    Same garbage mentality, different skillset.

I have no idea why people complaining about difficulty in normal content when
    1) and this BIG PRO for casuals - you can get ressurected in fight, at any moment
    2) normal content either have non-existing or veery veery far enrage which gives just a ton of room for deaths and still clearing the fight
So yeah, fail and learn should be a thing and this game already cutted sharp edges when made battle ressurecting possible

Well first off I am a 61 year old grandma with hand & wrist issues. That being said I main Sage had trouble with instances 3 on to the end using duty support. I was very upset however my FC members know me they gave me a pep talk to keep trying. I got my braces on both wrists and went after that content. I did finish. The FC did the new raids on the first day my co-healer and I struggled with the fights but that was because we had never seen them before. For mechanics with a lot of flash on the ground they have me follow one of them cause I have trouble seeing stuff. The game needs to keep going this way for the younger players not go back to easier. If I have to be just a crafter at some point only so be it. I am going to give it my best shot. This weekend I our FC is doing EX1 & I am H2. We will get this down at some point just might take a little longer then most.

After having spent the last few months seeing/hearing about healers wanting to feel like they're needed in content, we now have content that deals a decent amount of damage normally, with severe damage for failing a mechanic. We have fights that require tanks to actually tank, and we have fights that require DPS to properly use their rotation. Now that we have content, both in and out of msq, that requires players to actually engage with the game, people are complaining. This proves that no matter what Squenix does, players will find something to be upset about.

Personally? I think the difficulty is fine. Its just enough that I can enjoy learning the fights and feel like Ive mastered something difficult, and honestly I was looking for something like this from EW.
These people are smoking something and I want it, cause I want to be this deluded to be able to do Ultimates.

New raids were really fun but it does come down to the group you're doing them with. Have done M4 over 20 times now as a healer (helping FC members get their minion) and some of those have been really rough, there is a LOT of damage going out and if your cohealer isn't at least somewhat competent its really hard to keep everyones health up, especially if people are dead as well. But on the other hand this is what makes it fun in my opinion. I don't mind a few wipes as long as people actually are willing to learn the mechanics and not just whine

I love the difficulty increase. More reactive fights keeps you on your toes. If people cant handle that maybe they just need to play mobile games. There's literally 6 expansions to learn mechanic and gitgud. If you still can't understand basic mechanic by Dawntrail then either you skipped and never paid attention or you don't actually do all the previous raids/trials.

I've truly never played a game with a more petty and entitled casual audience than FF XIV's. The OP in forum threads like the one in the video prove singlehandedly that the concept of "toxic casual" is very much real, not just toxic elitism which they would like you believe is the only problem there is.

  • @nenni8872
    @nenni8872 2 месяца назад

The reason why dawntrail feels harder is because endwalker was too easy. From ARR to ShB the fights had a clear, stable increase in difficulty, but suddenly the encounters in EW were very repeative and easy. DT has new and interesting mechanics for the first time since (in my opinion) SB.

I even put savage content up to casual because I consider myself a casual and I did 11/12 savage fights last expansion (damn you p3s and your orange on orange on red on purple!) It's ultimate raiding at the point That I would say "most" content isn't casual anymore.

Nah. Things are fine. Normal raids and dungeons are fine. Nerf warrior and make story interesting. Honey B is fun af. I hate how much the game is being simplified, i dont mind removing barriers to entry but you cant take away the difficulty from the players that find it fun. Its okay to have to respawn.its an important note, Shinryu still ruins parties. Things are just different.

One of the biggest issues is when players can buy Job / Story skips and skip the lower-level content that serves as the tutorial and then suddenly complain that they aren't able to keep up in content that assumes you did everything before it and actually managed to retain some of what it's taught you. I've had loads of fun with the Expert Dungeons and Trials; even if we wiped a few times, at least it's actually engaging. I never want another repeat of Euphrosyne-level content at this end of the game again.

It's literally optional content that has no bearing on MSQ whatsoever. It's endgame as well, you have a lot of time to learn the encounters and improve, maybe even watch some guide videos. Technically it's supposed to be peak casual skill level if you don't do extremes. But God forbid some people have to use their eyes and press buttons at the same time, I guess.

Im so sick and tired of these casuals believing the world should revolve around them, if BrolyLegs could play fighting games at a high level with barely functioning arms these guys got no excuse to not press 3 buttons on a 2.5 second window, and if they are here just for the story and to socialize, then make friends with someone who knows how to play so they can carry you

Oh heart races, hand shake = anxiety....i mean they aren't wrong, but
excitement has the same physiological symptoms...so...
However I do understand them, especially when the are using a new job on a new dungeon
you are not only trying to learn the fight, but learn the job too. It can be much to process.
I however think Dawntrail MSQ (story related but not totally) is lacking in fights in early department.
Meaning players cant learn the job as they level up the job. There are 10 levels to level up the job, but you aren't learn much how the job works at 90 when it is highly likely that their daily roulettes are alliance raids in crystal tower and dungeons before level 80s.
That I will give them, the MSQ in terms of quest design, could be a little better IMO.

have been in FFXIV since 2013 and everytime there is a new expansion there is also an increase in difficulty. People are used to cruising through content without too much of a challenge after the umpteenth time but with upgrade in jobs, come an increase in the challenges in the game... Get used to it. If you are in the game long enough you will see the pattern.

As someon who would say i am pretty bad at the game and i would consider myself a pretty casual player (the only thing ive gone out of my way for being the morbol mount idk where that stands on the difficulty scale but doing int felt pretty hard) im of the opinion that the game is *fine where it is. Could it be harder? For sure! Easier? Not so much. I wouldnt even know how to make it easier outside of "boss never attacks and just stands there". Im probably on my own when i say im fine with where the game is but id also be willing to learn something harder if need be. I guess long comment made short, i see both side of the argument here but for sure it doesnt need to be "easier"

Jeez..... I've been complaining because the dungeons and trials this expac have been too easy to the point of being boring. Even the extremes are easy enough that I hopped in pf and cleared them in a single lockout with little trouble. The only normal raid boss I died to was the fourth one, because I greeded the arena destruction on the first one. This is mindblowing to hear.

posts like this are why interesting job design gets deleted from the game. glad normal fights feel somewhat difficult, its one of the healthy things about dt. and the fights will get easier as an xpac goes on/ you get gear. i feel like this "casual" probably doesnt have any tome gear, because that would require them to farm tomes and do "expert" content
