I remember footage of Dean getting out of a limo many months after Dino's death, and he looked like death warmed over. VERY sad to watch him, as it was obvious he was a completely broken man who was waiting to die.
Even though it was all just an act, for him it was a lifestyle. Life was simple and people were nice to each other. He was one of the few people who apparently took his act home with him. Truly a exceptional human being

Our house came to a stop when Dean was on tv, my mom dropped everything... never heard a bad thing about this man, not from Co stars, not from family not even his enemies, if he had any... smooth as silk voice and charm....

Sinatra was in awe of his friend, Dean. Sinatra worked to seem relaxed. Martin just WAS relaxed. Sinatra sang, but also conducted a handful of albums. One of them was with Peggy Lee. The other was with Dean Martin.

McQueen was cool in his movies but he had nervous habits of rapid speech and fidgety moves, not because he was nervous but because he was full of energy and always on the go. To me he seemed like he wanted to fit in as much as he could in life and raced out to embrace it which is why he seemed fidgety.

Agreed, Martin was in a completely different league of coolness from Steve McQueen or Elvis! Completely effortless and naturally at ease and great fun. They don't make em like Dean or Frank anymore. Frank adored Dean!

Dean Martin and Steve McQueen were two very different people, each was suave but in their own way, nothing alike at all. But McQueen NEVER ever looked like what you described -- shame, shame!

If I have interpreted your comment correctly Mark L then I agree with you. McQueen was cool in his movies but he had nervous habits of rapid speech and fidgety moves, not because he was nervous but because he was full of energy and always on the go. To me he seemed like he wanted to fit in as much as he could in life and raced out to embrace it which is why he seemed fidgety.

My Favorite Man Of all time,l loved Dean Martin,lm younger than his kids,but he reminded me of exactly how my Dad looked sounded and drank,my Dad was killed in 1967 and Dean had his own show.Let me tell you l never missed a show!And at first I’d cry just watching Him on his show he was a n exact twin to my handsome Dad.But he went from looking and acting like my Dad to exactly who he was.l gotta say l fell in love with the Man!God Bless You Dean!
