Big Bird made a cameo in that film, saying he's going to try his luck on a PBS kid's show(!!)
Funnily enough, the Muppet Movie released a decade after Big Bird's first appearance
Pretty sure it’s not referring to sesame street, but rather “follow that bird” but since I haven’t seen that movie and what I do know seems ro contradict that theory I can’t be sure
Oh yeah! "No thanks, I'm on my way to New York City, to try to break into public television"
I squealed like a fangirl when he showed up
You've got great muppet voices Colin.
Craftsbykatied Agreed.
He certainly does a fantastic job with giving character exactly the way their puppeteers would've done them.
Does a pretty good George Burns too.
Here's a few other movies script to screen you need to cover up:
1. Barney's Great Adventure (I know you're not big on Barney, but there was a lot of things that could've been in the movie as seen through writer Stephen White)
2. Beauty and the Beast (went through so many drafts before we got the final film)
3. The Pebble and the Penguin (featured some storyboard/stills of things that could've been in the movie)
4. The Wizard of Oz
And a couple drafts from a cancelled Sesame Street movie. muppet.fandom.com/wiki/Sesame_Street_-_The_Movie
My late grandfather was actually the same age as Jim Henson, and he had a very Henson-like vibe with how he was good to me and his other grandkids. I never told him this, but he actually looked like the Swedish Chef, although ironically he wasn't Swedish; my late grandmother was though. I say this, because the video's upload date happened to fall on grandfather's birthday.
"Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection, the lovers, the dreamers, and me!"
You’re amazing thank you for existing
@@scarlettplays299 Aw, thank you!
Wow! Your Kermit & Piggy voices are awesome!! 🐷🐸👍🏼
Adding Henry Kissinger to the Muppet Mount Rushmore is actually pretty funny, even if it is weird.
The Muppets will always be legendary.
That little interaction between Kermit & George made me tear up😢
Absolutely love your muppet voices, they're honestly spot on and help to paint those scenes in my head
There was also gonna be a scene where the gang picks up Robin on their way to Hollywood. It may have been filmed cause Robin is present with the gang during the song The Magic Store.
I can see why the scene of Fozzie throwing the banana peel out the window was cut. They were worried it would be a bad example for the audience, especially little kids.
Yeah that it would probably encourage littering 😂
And I don’t think Fozzie would ever litter 😂
At least we wouldn’t have to worry about Henry Kissinger reappearing in any Muppet movie.
The Henry Kissinger joke still remains alive. In Muppet Treasure Island, the scene where they're looking for the map in Captain Bones' chest, there is a book that Gonzo pulls out that's written by Henry Kissinger. When I saw it after watching this video, I just couldn't help but just laugh at this long lost gag. ruclips.net/video/vyj9QdYcL7I/видео.html
Perfect as the final film is, I gotta say, I'd love to watch all the deleted scenes. They all sound hilarious!
I've been having a Muppet marathon the last few days so I love that you did this!
See the script to screen for It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
I remember this movie and it's on Disney plus but it's also one of my favorite movies. Congratulations Kermit the Frog!
I would have liked to have seen the George Burns scene with Kermit at the beginning of the movie which would have established that Kermit had ties to his home in the swamp and the surrounding area. Also the Henry Kissinger gag is rather funny, and if they couldn't get Henry Kissinger they could have gotten someone else equally as strange to fill that role.
I believe the drummer named Charlie who was going to cameo, was going to be Charlie Watts (the drummer of The Rolling Stones).
I want to see the alternate universe Henry Kissinger version of The Muppet Movie.
Hey Colin, if you ever decide to make another look back or analysis of a puppet show, I'd suggest The Puzzle Place & Between The Lions, since they were both very popular on PBS Kids during their time too
I LOVED between the lions as a kid
So sad that Statler and Waldorf's cameos were cut.
I got two Script To Screen suggestions.
Shrek and South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut.
oh henry kissinger how ive been missin yer
I love that song!
The way it’s worded makes me think that the Rainbow Connection part was originally going to be “It’s Not Easy Being Green”
Can't wait for the next one
If you do another one of these for a Muppet film, may I suggest as a contrast, Muppets from Space. A movie that could have been so much better than what we ended up getting because of the problems they had with the directors, especially the one that ended up directing the finished movie.
I always did like how the first Muppet movie had a very laid-back casual feel to it, it often felt like the characters were just talking to each other rather than reading lines from a script. I don't know if I'd say it felt like improv, but a lot of it did feel very natural.
The look at the original script certainly is interesting, but I honestly think the changes they made were for the better, in particular changing Kermit's driving motivation from being rich and famous to making millions of people happy. That feels like something Kermit would be more invested in, IMO. That said, I would have liked more Sweetums scenes, would have made the running gag better and his sudden appearance at the end more satisfying. At least to me, he IS my favorite Muppet after all.
Colin, you should do your top 10 favorite Sesame Street and Muppets Characters
Hey, I found your channel very recently, and I've instantly fallen in love with your content! I love muppets, puppets and animatronics so your channel feels like it was made just for me! You deserve so many more subscribers than what you have, lots of love and appreciation from the UK.
Lately, I started thinking that The Wizard of Oz partially inspired the storyline for this movie. Not only are both movies about the protagonist traveling to a place to fulfill their dreams and collecting friends along the way but The Wizard of Oz one of Jim Henson's favorite movies and the very first movie he saw.
Excellent and terrific video there. The Muppet Movie will always be a true classic from the past for everyone to enjoy for sure. Keep up the great work!
You definitely do a better Miss Piggy impression than Rich Little lol. And fun fact: director John Landis puppeteered Grover in the end scene. Tim Burton's in there too, somewhere (presumably with a monster)
I just watched that movie last night.
I'm thinking of watching it today. O got to see it in theaters last year. Sometimes, Fathom Events brings old movies back to the big screen for a couple of days and believe it or not, my favorite movies to see in theaters are movies I've seen before, especially ones released before I was born. This was the most fun I've had at a Fathom Event so far. It's a wonderful feeling watching one of my favorite movies in a theater building, eating popcorn, Coke, and M&Ms, and listening to the audience around me laughing at the funny parts, especially Steve Martin. I would love to see it on nthe big screen again. I can't get enough of movie theaters and I miss them so much.
Watched it a month ago. Great movie and always will be
A couple years ago for my birthday, I got a replica of the original Muppet movie draft.
Thank you for this I needed content to watch
Hi Colin. I've seen a handful of your videos and you seem like the best kind of dork. Have you ever thought about doing a video about Fraggle Rock? (Pssst most of it is up online.)
TBH..... out of the alternate scripts for the Muppet Productions, I think the one where the finished product is actually.... y'know, better.... than the original treatment is the 2011 film. I think they pretty much said that a number of Pixar writers doctored (if you'll pardon the expression) the script before filming.
Honestly....your miss piggy is pretty good. Your Kermit isn't bad either. 😊
Narrator,
Interestingly enough (ironically), your normal voice is similar to Kermit's...
Given the time it was made, I assume Charlie in the original script was going to be Charles Nelson Reilly.
Muppets made the world a better place
I hope you reach 10,000 subs!
Another splendid video Collin. Need to cover Toy Story 2 original script it's pretty interested
How about your top 10 Favorite Muppet Show Guest Songs?
I enjoy this channel and your speaking voice
The fact that they actually thought they would get the Secretary of State shows how impossible their own impossible goals were 🤣🤣🤣
I like your Ms.piggy voice it was perfect
Love it 😍
We need a directors cut
Sadly, the director is dead.
This is great can't wait to see more
I’d love to see one on Alice in Wonderland (1951)
Hay Colin thanks for uploading agen love your vids
Great job!
You know maybe it was a good thing Kissinger didn't make it into the movie
Great 👍
you should review Brats in space It was made by Jim Henson
Can you do Script to Screen to Looney Tunes Back in Action because it was suppose to be a crossover movie.
After rewatching this episode after many years, I could not stop laughing at Gantu making an ass of himself while under Swirly's hypnosis trance.
I wonder if that George bought You And I And George.
Love your vids bro
rip kissinger he was and now will never be in a muppets movie
Man I wish they didn’t cut the attendant kissing Kermit that would of been so cute
well that ending was abrupt
when are you going to do more Disney Villains
Pls talk about the dead my muppet show game
You should do more rejected scripts and storylines form Muppet movies, as well as other kids movies. How about doing a video on this cancelled Sesame Street feature film? muppet.fandom.com/wiki/Sesame_Street_-_The_Movie
My cat walked by.
PLEASE
Just out of curiosity, have you ever watched these puppets shows which are professor iris, little star and the noddy shop?
The Noddy sequence of the latter is stop-motion.
PowerRangersFan I know that but the live action segments of the show have live actors and puppets
I caught Professor Iris once or twice as a kid and enjoyed it very much. The Noddy Shop theme song will never leave my head.
Colin LooksBack I see, I loved those shows when I was a kid, can you please do a retrospective of the noddy shop some time because I would love to hear your thoughts on it in detail
I conquered the comment section.
So, your Disney retrospective part 4 got blocked by Disney I feel bad.
I went to the Toughpigs website & at the top left corner of my screen it says "not secure".
Loved the muppets and rip Jim and can all Disney fans please follow me on RUclips at #DisneyDiva and thank you and be safe and sound.
