Very cool! I moved out of Los Angeles and spent 2.5 years living in Carmel. Had no idea that one of my childhood faves was filmed out there! Thanks for sharing! I’m obsessed with filming locations, and need to plan some time to scout around while I’m living here in San Francisco
Thanks, yeah there are quite a few little weird movies and shows filmed around the central coast - and SF has so many movies done their, from Vertigo to Venom and more. Hope you find some locations!
Thanks for the great video. I've driven on some of those roads many times and had no idea they were used in The Muppet Movie. Now I have to watch the movie again since I don't think I've seen it since 1979. Keep up the great work! Really fun seeing filming locations in my back yard.
Hey, thank you very much for this video. I have been to Salinas a few times before and didn't realise there were locations here. I am visiting from Australia in October so will get to see these places again. I saw another video with the "fork in the road" scene and will add that to my list of places as well - Thank you :) !
Thanks! I’m glad you found this video. So glad you get to visit some of these places this year. I still need to check out the fork in the road location. 👌🏻
I just watched your Green Acres video and LIKED it. Then I watched the John Lennon in S.F. LIKED that one too. But THIS is the video that made me subscribe! I love the Muppets + I'm a BIG John Denver fan and we all know how he and the Muppets go together! I drive by that area almost every year in October to meet some friends and John Denver fans as we meet and pay or respects and love to John Denver in Pacific Grove area of Monterey county. Now I will have to stop by and visit some of these locations from your video, (maybe the Green Acres area too!) Keep up the good work Stanley!
Yeah it is Kermit Love. Love was part of the Muppet Workshop and he built Big Bird and Snuffy. He mainly specialized in the full body puppets cause he had a background in costuming
Fun video! Good job finding the locations. By the way, I have access to Santa Lucia Preserve. I really only have permission to drive to/from my destination but I have parked on the ridge right where you had the red placemark.
@@StanleyFoss It's in the original DVD TV screen fit version, then missing from the DVD widescreen version. Supposedly, it was cut from the widescreen version as an executive at Disney thought that kids would not be able to sit through a sad song. Then the footage was lost for decades but recently found and restored. It was streamed on Disney+ recently but no release date has been given for the blu ray version.
I'm glad , the persevere send photos, but it would've been cool if they let you on the property ! Can you do a horror movie filming locations ? The Halloween house is in Pasadena
Yeah, at first everything was really cool with going in and filming at the Preserve, then they changed their minds. Oh well, maybe someday it will work out. Yeah Pasadena has sooo many movie houses from Back to the future to Pretty in Pink. Cool, yeah I’ll keep the Halloween house in mind 👍🏻
Stanley, great job with the video! In the scene where the Muppets car breaks down and they spend the night in the desert, was that near Amboy CA in the Mojave? Do you have exact coordinates?
Hi there! I don’t have the exact coordinates; I haven’t had a chance to figure out all the southern CA locations. But your right it feels like Mojave desert for sure.
My favorite one is The Great Muppet Caper, so next time I’m in the UK(not sure when that will be?) that will happen. And there are a few locations from the first movie I hope to hit up before the end of the year.
I think this person should know that this movie has the children's show Sesame Street involved with it. At the end of the show Sesame Street, it says Sesame Street is a production of the Children's Television Workshop.
The Muppets are LEGENDARY

OH MY GOSH I was sure those scenes were somewhere around Carmel Valley. This brought me so much joy. I can't thank you enough!
Yes you were right, Monterey county :)
It's really cool to see how these places have evolved from the 70's!

What a lovely intro. :) and I adored Muppet babies as a kid. Cool segments from the movie. ✨
Thanks ! It such a great song … and I wanted to hide myself a bit - so the super8 effect helped with that. Muppet Babies were the best!
My favorite is Dental Hyjinks
I LOVE your attention to detail!! Had to subscribe!!
The little details that survive all these years later is pretty fascinating. Thanks for the sub!!
Great job Stanley, I've wanted to see a location video for this film for decades.
Thanks, going to try and hit up a couple LA locations next time in in the area .
I remember this movie and it's on Disney plus. I love this movie.
It’s a great movie. My favorite one is the Great Muppet Caper.
That movie is also on Disney plus. It came out in 1981 the same year as the Disney movie The Fox and the Hound.
I’ll have to re-watch it soon 👍🏻
@@StanleyFossI think this person should know that I love Kermit the Frog. Let me know who your favorite Muppet is.
@@anniefinch6843also the same year as Raiders of the Lost Ark, Superman 2 and Chariots of Fire

@@StanleyFoss Cool! Oct 12 is when fans gather there. Many other gather in Aspen on that date.
You’re an outstanding RUclips channel. I wished you good luck 👍🍀 on going inside of the santa lucia preserve.

I'm glad to see, you back ! I never seen any of the Muppet movies, but it would definitely be on my to be watch list !

My favorite is "A Muppet Christmas Carol". I'm awaiting the release of the blu ray with the removed song "When Love is Gone".
