Our son ended up with one of these by accident, I ordered an acoustic guitar and when it arrived it was the wrong model. Turns out the store messed up with their web ad and pictured/described the model with onboard EQ and pickup. They offered me the correct guitar but this was off the hanger rather than out of the box. We compromised and kept the guitar but they gave me a SD Woody pickup so we were happy with that. Can’t believe no one else had called them on it though.
I was considering purchasing a new guitar, an acoustic-electric model so that I could use it with my looper pedal. Getting a Seymour Duncan soundhole pickup was a great alternative. I shortened the cable and wired an endpin jack, thus making the installation semi-permanent.
Not really. The output is comparable to a regular single coil pickup. Sometimes it even gets a bit too loud. If you notice, my sound is even clipping at some points in this video.

As long as you’re happy with it, that’s what matters! Thanks for watching.
Its pretty good all in all. Pre amp pedals can work well for passive pick ups if you tweak compression, amp models, eq etc
Yeah, I noticed it works well with acoustic IRs, reverbs and that sort of stuff too. Thanks for watching!

Yeah, it does the trick! It’s different from a piezo, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Thank you for watching.
Great video! Can I ask what you’ve got your woody hooked up to? Guitar amp? ECT?
great video! is this the Seymour Duncan Woody SA-3HC?
Yes, it is. The one they sell at Amazon now is a darker wood, but I think the difference is cosmetic only. Thanks for watching!
do u have to crank the volume to get a decent out put?\

Nice playing... And a sensible review too!
Don't you detest sitting on armchairs to play guitar?
Thanks! Armchairs are the worst, but the wife won’t let me have all guitar-friendly furniture in the house. Glad you enjoyed the video.
