This is why Daigo is the best. It isn't just because of his reign during Vanilla and Super, his 3rd strike Chun Parry with Ken, or even how he can stand up to the other strongest players in the world. Those are certainly indicators, but what makes Daigo monstrously good is his ability to BOUNCE BACK WITHOUT FAIL and defeat his opponent mercilessly. Latif and Poongko crushed him in 2011. Infiltration got the better of him on multiple occasions in 2012. Despite this, Daigo has proven himself in long sets and has shown that hardwork, dedication, and an absolutely FEARLESS mindset can crave the path to victory. Daigo Umehara, the Beast, everyone. That's who he is.
i find that another thing that sets him apart is that he plays a very crisp ryu. He throws fireballs that nobody else can through. He also uses tatsu a lot more than others for mobility and crossups. His defense is amazing as well, and he never misses a dp-fadc-ultra. I could pick this guy out of 100 ryus
royfancoolguy If I want to I am gonna reply to a comment that is 1 million years old as well and you can't stop me. I am just that cool and don't be jealous now just because you can't do the same. Also it doesn't matter how old the comments are but the fact that everything I ever say is always true and awesome just like me.
royfancoolguy You laugh but I am right in everything I ever say and you know it haha. But you are a cool guy I like you. I just hope you are not gay like most of the SF players haha.
EVO is considered a high standard because it's played once a year, attracts a lot of players from different locations, and has become kind of a hype machine over the time. Having said that, a first to 10 set is more accurate at determining which player is better against another specific player. They have time to practice and plan just for each other and the longer set rules out fluke wins or losses. I do recognize though that people have different definitions of what being the "best" means.
Daigo is like some master swordman , No fancy move but effective and doesnt show too much expression, stay cool but still sharp. He always learn from his mistake. If he born in Sekigahara era, he is Mushashi Miyamoto
After you watch into couple games.. You can see infiltration was confused and starting to back away in defense mode which you never seen him do against daigo prior to this match.
Daigo not throwing fireball at the distance where infil can focus.. He also not gettin deep dp but instead early dp so he can ultra. I think that's some of the major changes.
nope, im talking about the FT50 daigo and sako.Final score Daigo Umehara (Ryu) 50 - 27 Sako (Ibuki) i dont know if theres footage of it tho.Lol di you know Daigo wanted a FT50 with Infiltration? Mad Catz said they didnt had enought time do it.
Zhi's historical and current events quips are godlike. Most people don't catch them but I love it. He can sneakingly cross the line because most fgc are idiots. Haha.
I was dying at "...And you know they separate the trash here: Gods & Frauds, Plastics and Aluminum..." Oh, and the Mighty No. 9 and water cooling newegg reference.
i would say long sets such as a first to ten mean way more than a first to three in a tourney even if its evo. So many things have to go right/ get a little luck to win a tourney. first 2 10 is all about 1v1 player vs player the ability to read ur opponent and know characters really shines
Man, Infiltration started to have execution errors in match 6. Daigo clearly got in his head causing his nerves to show, similar to how Daigo showed nerves and starting missing things in their past matches.
Note that you can hear the Japanese commentator in the background so much more hype than Zhi and Mike Ross right now. Especially during the last round of the last game.
daigo is playing much smarter this time... he's using his super bar for ex every now then which is good to give his opponent a bit of delay to avoid those mash ups or further mix ups...
Absolutely true, but after seeing him play at this level against Infiltration who he lost to and destroying the champion himself, Xian, I can't help but think it would have been awesome to see Daigo play like this at EVO.
Daigo was ( is ? ) such a genius. I wish he had the hunger from years ago. Now he's just not there. Doesn't deliver anymore. Hopefully he'll get to this level someday.
Infiltation: Hello? Is this bottle? Bottle: Yes, this is bottle. How may I help you? Infiltation: Can you help me cool down? Bottle: Yes, but not much.
Are you going to upload the other matches as well, ckeanlol? I would love to seem them. Glad to see Daigo still training hard and doing his best. Bringing Infiltration down a bit is perfect to keep everything competitive, nobody wants to see 1 player dominate everyone else.
All those people dissing Daigo since evo2011, what you say now? C.Mk,ex fireball, stops Infilterations focus attacks and also walk throw. Today I witness DAIGO turn super saiyan. One of the best matches I've ever seen. This is not the same DAIGO as before!!! Now a very aggressive overpowering play style!
There will always be down time and there will always be someone who will made a break thru. There isn't a true god in the fighting community. Just support whoever you like. No one is forcing u their opinion to change your sf4 idol....
Sad part is reading through the comments I need smell hypocrisy on many of the post. "He's Back!" When did Daigo ever leave? So now he's playing real and wasn't before? Daigo has always been playing his hardest and wanting to win. Infiltration has had his number since Evo2k12, however this 1st to 10 was Super Convincing for the Beast. Unlike most, I'm happy to see Daigo winning here ONLY because it'll make the Infiltration vs Daigo in the future that much more interesting.
You completely fail to see the point then. Prior to Evo2k12, they were playing Vanilla AE, not the current AE:2012. Infiltration is Not the same player he was prior to AE:2012. Your notions on Akuma are true, however they don't negate Ryu's better ground game which was exploited her flawlessly by Daigo. If you can control the ground w/ Ryu it makes it incredibly difficult for Akuma to start a hard KD or mixup.
It also seems like Infiltration isn't suited to endurance gaming. Going by his body language, he seemed to be losing focus after the 5th or 6th rounds. I know Daigo's endurance is quite high since hes done many FT10s.
not a grand final or tourney, but one of the top 5 most significant matches of the SF4 era
This is why Daigo is the best. It isn't just because of his reign during Vanilla and Super, his 3rd strike Chun Parry with Ken, or even how he can stand up to the other strongest players in the world. Love Daigo for always bringing the heat, even for exhibition matches!
Thank you for uploading this!
Daigo is like some master swordman , No fancy move but effective and doesnt show too much expression, stay cool but still sharp. He always learn from his mistake. If he born in Sekigahara era, he is Mushashi Miyamoto
thing is musashi is known for his unorthodox double wielding style, not like daigo.
Thanks for the video, ckeanlol. I was looking around to see this great match-up everywhere!
Zhi's commentary is on point. May be the best for SF4 commentary I've heard.
One of the funniest commentators.

Ya Zhi is the best. Always a joy to hear him. His commentary at SEAM 2015 is one of my favorites.
😎👍🏻
Daigo should be the 5th mystery character in Ultra SSF4.
He has earned his spot as the true 'world warrior'.
At this point, he IS street fighter!
Yep. Daigo says it before matches sometimes, according to the Daigo manga.
24:49 Daigo Ume-WHAT?
Still can’t get over this video. Daigo totally best Infiltrations ass lmao
Thank you so much for uploading this! Awesome match.
Legendary Set! thanks for upload
You're first holy
unleashing that crowndfunding... how does he even come up with that shit😂😂😂😂
He finally did it! THE BEAST IS BACK!

OMG Daigo is playing flawlessly. Guess he showed Infiltrationn the true meaning of PAIN!
Very good sportmanship by both of them. No wonder why they are pros.
thanks, looking all over!
"I am power made flesh! Feel how weak you truly are!"
looks like diago vs anyone, is actually first to free
is there a way i could mute the commentators? hurts my head with those referrences
is this recent or old vid been out of the gaming community for a while now?
Infiltration: after Evo, I don't think your a "beast" any longer
Daigo: Lol Bitch please
Hey i dont follow the fighting game scene but is this from a RECENT EVENT? what is the CONTEXT of this MATCH?
Man, Infiltration started to have execution errors in match 6. Daigo clearly got in his head causing his nerves to show, similar to how Daigo showed nerves and starting missing things in their past matches.

Now this is the American FGC commentary that i love. Sadly this had to be done in Japan in order for it to be acceptable. Good shit Zhi
The Return Of The King, by Daigo Umehara
How are they linking some of these combos? Geez

There's nothing to be delivered in SF5...
SFV isn’t about skill anymore
The reason people are saying (or joking) about akuma being a weak character is the fact that daigo himself said so in a stream a week or two ago
Siamese Twins connected at the Temple 8:19
Arsonistic Tibetan Monks 9:57
I think you are right about your "Go out with a bang" theory, Damn!
How do you keep you cool when playing. I jump and twitch and twist and turn as I play.
Thanks! But my video freezes every time the camera pans to Daigo. ;)
Daigo is like batman, he can beat anybody in the world as long as he has time to prepare for them.
10:30 is seriously awesome
great post! thanks
What was it that Daigo found out about Akuma that made it to where he could steam roll Infiltration??
It may be laggy, but they need to pick the volcano stage when these two fight.
Daigo takes it down with solid fundamentals. Not much flashy play here, just sick footsies, solid defense, and a hell of a lot of matchup knowledge.
This is just one week ago at Tokyo
ZHI - "he thinks his volvic is actually a phone..." Ross - "it went straight to voicemail" lmao

yeah it was recent, a few weeks ago it was just a first to 10 with infiltration, just a challenge, nothing in stakes.
lemme know when daygo knocks infiltration out of the next few tournaments
Infiltration made Daigo go back to the drawing board. Now Daigo sending him back to it.
13:00 "frauds and gods clashing"
Zhi, Daigo is not Jaeger. He's freaking Levi!
Why the hate for Zhi? He's awesome and making it entertaining.
Daigo: "Not on my turf"
LOL! "Yellowhawk down!"
Zhi also mentions "yellow hawk down" meaning black hawk down, but yellow since Infiltration is asian, and you know how they call asians yellow
It also seems like Infiltration isn't suited to endurance gaming. Going by his body language, he seemed to be losing focus after the 5th or 6th rounds. I know Daigo's endurance is quite high since hes done many FT10s.
