Wasn't for a long time, but we are now and it makes a huge difference both in their sound quality and having just one more source of audio for backups!
I had the bride's mic save me a few years ago. Groom's recorder and Officiant's recorder both weren't recording, and I checked levels, but forgot to hit record in the one plugged into the DJ's system. Always mic the bride if possible!!!
I noticed you are covering the very top of the mic with the sticky covering. Just curious why you don't leave the very tip of the mic uncovered? Thanks!
Do you find you have to compromise on this with some gowns? I've had a lot of brides wearing body-glove crepe dresses that shows literally anything through.
You're right in that much of the style for wedding dresses is gowns that are a lot more form fitting and thinner material - in those instances we don't mic the bride. In those regards - we'll mic them up for letting readings/private vows on the outside of the dress and make it pretty discreet.
Omg perfect timing for this video! I’m mic’ing a bride for the first time tomorrow! Thank you 😅
Good luck!

Could you please add a link to the stickies that you use at 0:24?
Thanks for the tutorial! 😌 so a windscreen isn’t necessary even if it’s windy? Since it’s mic’d so close to the bride?

You can cover the mic for wind protection
Asking for a friend...do you use a new strap every wedding? Or run it through the washer orrrrrrr? The person who isn't me really wants to know.
Wash between weddings!

I would not be comfortable doing this. If I wanted to mic the bride I would be asking a bridesmaid to do this.
