The lack of views and comments in this video after a year shows people stuck in thier ways with thigh straps which from day one I thought looked uncomfortable. Very happy to have found your channel and this video, keep up the great work.
Haha, yea man. I think if you have the thigh strap and you make it work, more power to you. For me, I can't bring myself to ask a bride to wear something that so many others have worn before her, ON HER WEDDINg DAY.. That's gross imo. My brides know that they're getting a brand new product that they can unbox and test it out on their own ahead of the wedding. It's the little things!
just came across your video it show me a lot about videoing a wedding I'm thinking of starting my own wedding business soon the camera gears are so expense good video bro
Thank you. It alternates every time but in this one, I’m using a a73/28mm combo with a godox 150l pointed to the ceiling and a rose video mic pro plus boomed. Hope this helps.
It’s strong enough to hold it all day bro. I had a Bride forget she was wearing it. It’s a snug fit on the brides leg so it’s not going anywhere. Thanks for the sub!
Almost every solution for this makes me uncomfortable or feels inelegant. I can understand sending a garter but they're getting a piece of lingerie (which means an undergarment, something under your normal clothing) from a vendor which is also kind of weird (not super weird but something about it rubs me wrong). A lot of times they have a garter anyway sometimes they have 2 (one for the toss and one to keep). The same type of preparatory conversation could be made to ask them to say their vows into a house microphone that you can record from as a first option (this would be better quality than a lav, and then if they don't want that you could ask if they're comfortable with the lav option or a third option is a lav on their vows card so it's not invasive and they make very thin recorders for something like this. Pico gear makes a very small mic that you can paint white on the part that shows which is about 2mm thick so almost invisible. So those are some options as well but this is such a hard problem to solve elegantly.
Mhh. You raise a good point. I've actually never thought of it as a 'piece of lingerie'. I guess I never viewed it like that and more of a tool to get the job done. This method needs to be pre-planned though. It's not for everyone but I have had flawless results and all my brides have been super comfortable with it (cause they get it a week in advance and can try it on). The in house microphone is always the first solution but if you've ever had those mics cut on you, you'll be really happy you had this backup! Speaking of backups, I really like that Pico mic! I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the comment!
@@RaphealPersaud Yeah I'm sure most people don't mind your method. I'm always on the overly conservative side of worried about making people uncomfortable. It's definitely a tough problem. Sometimes I had trouble getting pico mics ordered because of supply so I ordered two for some reason. They're pretty good but usually I go with a wired lav. I think I just don't trust wireless things much.

@@RaphealPersaud yeah and that also gets rid of the awkwardness of asking back for something like that, its just a better option hands down.
Man, your videos are gold! You sound like a very VERY good teacher/instructor. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Thank you for the good tips.
Subscribed obviously 😎
Such great content… thanks! Just subbed 😊
Would you also share what gear you use to shoot your RUclips videos?

Is that garter belt really strong enough to hold the tascam DR 10L for a couple of hours while the bride is walking around?

Link to the garter belt?
Just buy the thigh band. That’s what there’re made for. Much more secure also. I have two, I sanitize them after each wedding.
Great video! Subed!
The irony!!😂🔥
Any tips on deciding which size to order? I never want to make my bride uncomfortable with sending a garter that's way too small.
The small/medium option is usually solid. It never hurts to ask which size they think will fit them either. I usually walk with both just in case.

How ironic. I’m so concerned about the battery lasting lol
This was my fault. Immediately got new batteries and never had another issue lol
