    Right now we think this is amazing technology, in 20 years we will be like, "look how old fashioned that thing is!"

    • @Johnnpeace
      @Johnnpeace 9 лет назад +6

      in order for this to happen in 20 years guys like him must create this technology

    • @HuSkYHDD
      @HuSkYHDD 9 лет назад +1

      its already old fashioned I can't believe people think this is so revolutionary, so many people have been doing this for years and there are already one that can feel by send signals from sensors on prosthetic fingertips to there mind.

    • @Johnnpeace
      @Johnnpeace 9 лет назад +2

      yeah and you have to sell 3 livers to get one hand but this guy focused on making it cheap

    • @HuSkYHDD
      @HuSkYHDD 9 лет назад

      John Peace Didn't realize you replied anyway, its easy to make it cheap if his is so shit the things you guys don't understand about the 30-50,000 dollar prosthetic hand's is that they have stronger and faster motors and more advanced signal reading, plus much more durable materials while his is just some shitty plastic and mini servo motors and fishing line that anyone can make.

    It's great that this kid did this from what seems to be purely the goodness of his heart without really trying for a profit. That he made it open-sourced compounds that idea. What an intelligent, good person.

    I am 75 now and have been engineering all my life. I had such passion when I was 18. and that of a endless creator. however in 1965, I could not film my accomplishment and post them on RUclips, as the black and white TV was the only RUclips of it's day.

    To those of you who think this is some revolutionary prosthetic arm that can read your mine, these have been around since 1964. Also many other people have made similar things and for those that think that his can do more than big companies look at the BeBionic3 and the I-Limb Ultra. But to be honest he did do a decent job making it so cheap and giving a amputee his first prosthetic.

  • @Gearz86
    @Gearz86 9 лет назад +3

    This is awesome what they're doing. but it's irrational to think that the big hitters can't feasibly make a cheaper prosthetic limb. Especially with all their additional resources. Competition always drives costs down though. So while they wont knock the other players out, hopefully they can keep them from bending over those with missing limbs.

    • @charliecastillo2011
      @charliecastillo2011 6 лет назад

      Gearz86 Screw the competition. Competition will be the end of us all. Making the prostheses cheaper will make it affordable for people who normally can't afford them. We need to work together as a species if we are to achieve anything.
