  • Here, I talk about my Hornby R1072 Flying Scotsman, which was the first train set that I purchased. Since I purchased it in November 2010, its components have been split up and used on my permanent layout so that it is no longer a "train set" per se.       Thanks so much! Yes it's indeed a very pleasant runner, especially at the slower speeds that make model railroading far more reflective of the real thing. Really enjoy running it on my layout, especially with the full six-coach rake in all its glory. The added crew also brings a sense of interest. Must install some passengers within the coaches in due course.
