Honda maintenance on one vehicle is harder than it needs to be

I wanted to share how to check and install a new air filter for the 2022+ Acura MDX. It’s not as easy on this vehicle as all the other Acura and Honda products.

The Honda/Acura V6 is so compact they decided to put a whole toolbox 🧰 on top of it… and it still fits in the engine bay with no problem. Beautiful Truck by the way.

Changing that filter is a lot easier than on my Gen 7 Accord 4 cylinder. My intake air hose has to come out if you didn't want to be fighting with it. Thanks for sharing.

I could change my 9th gen accord coupe without removing the intake hose, but my TLX TYPE-S requires you remove the hose, plus some push pins and a little plastic piece, and it barely comes out after that. It sucks. The oil filter is harder to get at, and dumps oil in your subframe every time. It has an aluminum cover over the oil pan and transmission you need to remove first. Plus, the car is so low you can barely get under there with ramps. Still love it.
