      Uncle Drew no they weren't but lebron didn't leave Cleveland to go to a first round exit team in Miami. he made a deal with Bosh and Wade 2 future hall of famers to team up in Miami, and they added great shooters and defenders too. so NO bron didn't go to some average team, he wanted to build a super team.
      and yea after Wade and Bosh got older and injured he left them to join a young super star who can drop 30 and 40 points any night in kyrie, brought Love aboard too to go along with more great shooters.

    not a huge LBJ or Jordan fan. Nick is right - you can't bring up all of the negatives about LBJ, and then dismiss the negatives of MJ. neither are/were perfect in the playoffs -even though 6-0 finals record is exceptional, Jordan lost more playoffs than he won so comparisons are fair.

    • @GJTrae
      @GJTrae 7 лет назад +18

      Rook Rude lost more playoffs than he won ? If your bringing up the loses bring up the all time great team he lost to & look at who LeBron lost to 😂 plus Jordan didn't lose when he got another all star LeBron did in Miami badly

    • @kevinflowers463
      @kevinflowers463 7 лет назад +6

      if you want to factor in all years then essentially MJ was 6 for 15. Lebron is 3 for 13 so he falls behind on MJ as well. Keep in mind that MJ was in fact rusty in 95 when he came back (shot 41% that season and was 52% for his career when he retired in 93) Another thing is that Horace grant left which he was the X-factor in the Magic series for why the bulls lost and he said if MJ never retired he would have never left the bulls. Even with factoring that stuff in MJ is clearly better as of now. Lebron would need to have an absolutely amazing finish to his career to surpass.

      And 15 is being nice about it, as 1year out when he lost to the Celtics in 86, almost 2 years out and he came back at the end of the season and lost to Orlando, and the 2 years in Washington which was a business venture and at no point was he looking to "win" championships.

    Everyone always loves to talk rings- let's forget rings for a second...MJ still has more MVPs, more top 5 finishes in DPOY voting, better advanced stats (higher PER, WS/48, Ortg, Drtg), always stepped his game up in the playoffs. There just isn't an argument people. Lebron is obviously still one of the greatest ever (I have him at 3rd all time), but if you just put your biases aside and look at the resumes, where's the comparison? Lebron has played more games than MJ by the way, so this just means that MJ did more in the same amount of time.

    • @ethd2286
      @ethd2286 7 лет назад +22

      Recency bias. People see what Lebron is doing now and get caught up in the hysteria. Funny thing is 90% of the people on youtube making the argument that Lebron > Jordan never even watched Jordan at his peak.

    Nope that convo ended when he decided to form not one but two superteams in the weak east for easy rings. Lebron will have to win win one more MVP, 4 more rings, at least 3 more fmvps and 9 more scoring titles and a DPOY for him to pass the goat.

      Ben Osama warriors were not a superteam last yr. a superteam is team with more than one superstars or top 10 players. Steph was the only superstar on gsw last yr. klay is a star and draymond is good role player but I don't consider him a star. This yr if he beats them wit kd then yes he would've beaten a superteam but just cause the warriors won 73 games doesn't make them a "Superteam"

    • @seanking9901
      @seanking9901 7 лет назад +20

      ProfessorFinesser so it was only cool when Jordan had a super team in the same eastern conference that the Bulls made the playoffs going 30-52 and 3 sub .500 teams in the playoffs in 1991? In fact you could argue the only reasons the east is viewed as weak is because of LeBron if you take the Cavs out the eastern conference becomes much more entertaining. I believe Jordan is the GOAT as well but to say LeBron has to do all those things is ridiculous.

    Charles Barkley said it himself about 2 years ago that these analyst act like Kobe and Duncan didn't exist. 5-7 finals for Kobe, Duncan the 5-6 . they didn't jump ship to the next team finally win and all of the sudden gloat I'm the best there is. they keep saying he could have 3 peated. he didn't so argument dead, if he had kyrie and love he could have won, well I can say if warriors were 100 last year he would have lost, if Allen didn't hit that 3 he would have lost

      Before the achilles injury took a toll in his body (including the cracked tibia plateau in his left knee and torn rotator cuff), Kobe is still kinda untouchable and played at a very high level that few players can play at such an age. I believed before that achilles gave up, he's still the best player in the leauge coz of the high level of play he had shown on a nightly basis even though there's already a ton of mileage on him. Athough at his early 30's his athleticism is kinda diminished along his leaping ability, he compensated it with sound fundamentals and monstrous skills that even a prime lebron had a difficult time to guard.

    Jordan was so good that he took time out and came back almost as good. In fact he was showing kids half his age a thing or two.
    I honestly do not think there will be another to surpass his Airness. Possibly harsh on James and Curry, but I think on the same court as them he would have upped his game again if need be. Just as he did with Bird, Magic and co. Jordan won a championship with the flu, he won after taking 2 years off. He drove and dunk and shot mid range jumpers and won against some of the best big men defenders in history, he consistently beat Hall of Famers like Magic, Bird, Malone, Barkley, Olajuwon, Ewing, Wilkins, Drexler.

    This argument doesn't even matter because MJ is now at a status that he might as well be God himself, somehow he has become an even better player now having been retired for years. In most peoples eyes its impossible for Lebron to ever be the greatest. I don't know if anyone could ever pass MJ at this point honestly.

    Why Jordan's better then Lebron
    Jordan has DOUBLE Lebrons rings
    Jordan has him beat there
    6 finals MVP , Jordan has him beat again
    More League MVPs then Lebron
    Jordan has him beat again
    More all stars then Lebron
    Jordan wins again
    9 time defensive first team , Lebron has 5
    Jordan wins again
    Jordan had defensive player of the year, Lebron had never
    Dunk champ twice, Lebron lied saying he would do it, never did
    Jordan had TEN scoring titles , Lebron has 1
    Jordan wins again .
    Jordan never left to chase rings
    Jordan had 1 all star and wins 3 rings straight
    Lebron had 2 an lost 2 more finals
    Gets 2 more all stars, still loses another finals
    Lebron is crying needing more help in the weakest conference EVER
    Jordan adds rodman, wins another 3 straight ...
    So you're wrong. Lebron isn't even close to Jordan,

      True. When they hear us talk they think we're sounding salty or something but far from it. It's just that cats like us are older and have been around to see MJ, Magic, Kareem, etc. We've seen both eras and these youngster haven't, but I get it because they can only judge of what they have seen. But if you don't study up on the history of sports and what came before you we're born you're destined to be ignorant to it and never have an understanding of just great previous players we're. It's not like the game and players became great 10-15 years ago because that's when you started watching it, doesn't work that way.

      Failing to realize the change in leauge rules in defense to make the game more appealing and higher scoring. Allowing travels and rewarding flops.Being in the Eastern conference finals with the only super team that he put together himself. Jumping ship to a prepped team to get to the finals with two other all Stars. The list continues.
      I think getting 💯 on the finals speaks numbers. LeBron would be an average bench warmer in the league that Michael played in. It was a man's game in the 80-late 90s . Saying he's better than Kobe is just blasphemous. Kobe plays in the West. Where the big boys play. To get to the finals in the West is a tooth and nail affair. Getting to the eastern conference is a pillow fight in comparison. And to go at it at that with a super team that is well rested while the west wear each other out. Come on now. Watch Mike. Do your hw . " stop it, get some help"

    dont get me wrong, im not a lebron hater, but this discussion about goat and comparisson with MJ should stop, he's top 5 or top 3, cant argue with that, with the gift he has, the size, speed and athleticism.. thats once in a lifetime player... but we should remember that Michael revolutionized basketball, the combination of basketball IQ, leadership, toughness, killer instinct in the clutch, hardwork, together with style, beauty, athleticism, shooting (he introduced fadeaways), elevation, hangtime, defensive skills etc... thats what MJ showed/ contributed and what we are now watching as basketball everywhere in the whole world..

    This convo is Stupid...Lebron is awesome, and he will be a Top 5 player when he's all done...But I think 5 is as high as he can get .....Lebron doesn't have the killer instinct of the guys that are above him as the greatest guys like MJ, Magic, Kareem, Kobe those men were killers and would do whatever it takes to win..Lebron is a stat stuffer sure, but he IMO doesn't have that mental strength that those guys did and it shows in the way he plays....not to mention that his game skill wise isn't on those guys levels either, Lebron was blessed with BRUT abilities but his skill set in comparison doesn't quite measure up...and for the record I am not a Lebron hater..just a basketball fan.

      charles crimes Not disagreeing with you but he is cerebral in his own way he has come up big in clutch games scoring 25 points in the 4th against Ben Wallace's pistons to go to the finals, clutch jumper over hedo turkgalo against the magic, scoring 14 points to bring them back against the spurs until Ray Allen hit the game winner. He may not want to take the final shot all the time but he sets he teammates up to give them the shine he has clutch defense block on igudola last finals. He is just different

    • @suabdeeg
      @suabdeeg 7 лет назад +22

      There is no definitive way to "win". There's no way to measure killer instinct. Just because player A plays this way doesn't mean that if player B plays a different way then it's wrong. Jacking up shots doesn't mean you have a killer instinct. Basketball is a team sport. You win and lose as a team. I'd rather take a smart play over a heroic play any day of the week.
      Lebron is a stat stuffer? doesn't have mental strength? Shows how objective you are. Based on those comments alone, I can tell you don't understand the game nor watch it.

Forget numbers. Those who know... Know. If MJ went up against lebron, he would win because MJ... Its DNA. MJ is just better at Basketball. Bill Rusell has more rings. This is enough to shoot numbers down. I'm just gonna sit back and count the likes (from those who KNOW) and the lies from those who are young.

    5:50
    Scottie Pippen got to the Bulls in 1988
    by year
    in 1988 he averaged 30min- 10pts/5eb/2ast & shot 46%
    Bulls went 4-6
    3 of those wins Pippen scored 8pts, 4pts and ZERO
    Jordan :36, 50 & FIFTY FIVE
    explain to me what Scottie did to help Jordan win a game?
    in 1989 he averaged 17/8/4/1/1
    the Bulls went 9-8
    in those 9 games he cracked 20pts ONCE! and single digits TWICE!
    but lets just line up the contributions in wins in the playoffs for this season to
    Pippen: 13.4 pts/ 8.1reb/ 4.5ast/ 1.2 stls/ 0.8blk/ 47.8 % shooting & Game Score : 11.9
    Jordan: 39.7pts/ 8.8 reb/ 8.1ast/ 2.6stls/ 1 blk/ shooting 55.4% and a Game score: 33.6
    no i can sit here and say YES before they drafted Pippen Jordan never won a playoff game
    sure that's factual
    but everyone glosses over the fact that Pippen was mediocre when he came in
    then became alright
    then solid
    then good
    then great
    then fell off

Pippen lead the team to the second round: If he was that great, adding him onto that team should have easily gotten them to the Finals, even if they would have lost due to his rust. Simole fact of the matter is that Jordan needed to be on the best team to even getnto the Finals in the first place. He's overhyped af due to the fact that he had mediocre Finals competition, as he never beat anybody when the competition was greater."

      What about the competition MJ had to endure to make it to the Finals? No one ever talks about that and compare to Lebrons cake-walk through the East every year. And for the cat above (Izzy Izzerton), AI took a less-than mediocre Sixers team to the Finals and at least won 1 game against the Shaq and Kobe-led LA Lakers. As I can recall, Lebron and Cleveland got smashed by San Antonio in a sweep but I guess that doesn't matter smh

    Even non-basketball fans came out to watch MJ. They have not returned since he left. MJ was singular - perfection really. This moment reminds me of the Kobe era when he was scoring 35ppg and everyone was comparing him to MJ. It was a good show. Eventually, it will be the totality of one's career that will answer the question best but MJ also has the most unique skill set because of his giant hands, hang time and improvisational scoring skills and those that saw him play remember that perfected game and artistry. And he had a knack of doing the greatest things on the biggest stage. Until someone else comes along with as spectacular skill set that brings out the non-serious fan, the next MJ hasn't entered the league yet. Lebron probably will be in the 2nd greatest argument with Kareem/Magic/Bill/Wilt in the end. He will challenge longevity totals but those totals alone aren't what MJ purely owned nor are what put him at the top. MJ is the only player with no weaknesses in his individual AND team dominance in ALL of sport. He is the only player who has been the best player on the biggest stage every time with the best stats. He is the only player ever who is as skilled as he his athletic, and is as mentally tough as he is physically tough. And he had moves no one else could duplicate. MJ is the only player that has every facet covered - advanced stats included. That is why he will always be the easiest argument for #1.

Michael Jordan, who Larry Bird called "God in Sneakers", got knocked out of the playoffs for 7 straight years before his first title. Yes, the guy who was called the best player on the planet. Was it his fault as well that his team couldn't get out of the playoffs? I'll wait...because if you say "no, it was his team's fault", I know that I can't have an objective debate with you.

    People act like Jordan just left to play baseball just because. It was partially because the league was getting "un-challenging" to him and partially because he wanted to honor his father (playing baseball is something they discussed before the passing of his father). so did Jordan, and the east has always been weaker. Lets face facts though, in this era teams are more stacked than in Jordan's. By this i mean, the top teams in each conference are way better, but that does come with the lower playoff teams not being as good. Its just stupid to compare eras because none are ever the same. My generation will remember LeBron as the greatest, the previous will say Jordan, my grandpas said Oscar and Wilt and the next will say someone else. Its just how things are.

      The East wasn't bad in MJ's era as it is now though. It was balanced back then for West and East, since MJ's second retirement it's been West>>>East clearly. Not to mention MJ faced way more 50+ win teams in the playoffs while LBJ has faced majority of 49 or less win teams. LBJ has it so much easier than MJ, there's a reason why he reached the finals 6x in a row bc the East is dead awful, that and he has a couple legit go to guys with him to make it easier for him.

      MJ's era
      East 51
      West 49
      LBJ's era
      East 33
      West 70
      Not to mention MJ faced better competition..
      21 of 31 East opp teams had 50+ wins
      His record was 14-7 against them
      10-0 against 49 or less win teams
      LBJ has faced 11 of 30 East opp teams with 50+ wins
      His record is 7-4 against them
      19-0 against 49 or less win teams
      The dude has had an easier path to the finals since he got there, he's been feasting on 40+ win teams the most. Was 1-5 against the East who had 50+ wins before Wade and Bosh too but was 7-0 against 49 or less win teams.

Lets see Lebron get through those 90's eastern teams 6 times. Also the Sonics were an athletic team with great vets and they got blown out by 17 or more points in every game. Nick Wright is refreshing. He's actually objective and factual about Jordan, and about LeBron as well. Jordan's my second favorite behind LeBron, but a lot of MJ's fans need to get disillusioned and dehypnotized when it comes to him. They ignore the 7 straight years of playoff-exits. They brush over the '95 playoff-exit. They push aside him not getting to the Finals in his last two years. The facts just need to be stated, that's all.

    Pls guys lets not forget that Lebron entered the NBA when he was almost 17/18. Skipping college is a big thing, it gives years that mj didnt have. He went to the NBA after 2 years in north carolina, winning in both by the way. He then went to play baseball, then retired again and came back old as a fossil to play for the wizards and averaged 20ppg. Lebron never missed a year, and had already got extra ones from skipping college. Im not saying that it speaks less of Lebrons career, heck no, since he was 18 he has been the king of the NBA. What im actually saying is that this speaks better of MJ. Less time, more production. I actually think if MJ entered the league at 18 and never retired until 2003, his numbers would be so astronomical that even Lebron wouldnt be in the same sentence as him. And maybe he would have more chips (probably)

    For the people who are even comparing eras try this: Take Jordans best team ever, perhaps the 72-10 team and let them play Lebrons best team ever, probably the team with Wade, Bosh in their primes. Let them play a 7 game series and analyze how it plays out. Actually, let them play 2 7 game series with RULES from 1998 and one series from 2008 rules. I guarantee the Bulls MOP THE FLOOR in both series. In the bruiser series Rodman or Pippen would literally beat Lebron into a pulp and Bosh would be neutralized by the other. Then you'd have Jordan and probably Wade squaring off against each other. In another scenario maybe you'd have Lebron guarding Jordan. If any of those series went 7 games which I doubt MJ would EMBARRASS the defenses of either Lebron team. Lebron would have an incredibly difficult time handling tough physical defense whereas Jordan would be absolutely fine with it as he has played against the Bad Boy Pistons and Celtics who were the toughest teams ever. In either scenario I don't see either of Lebron's teams beating that Bulls team. Here's why. Those Bulls teams didn't have a dominant center or point guard which was UNHEARD of in the bruiser era when it came to building a championship winning team. So Lebrons teams would have NO ADVANTAGE in terms of hitting 3's or using post-play to win. Pippen or Rodman could D-up Lebron Wade or Bosh with multiple players without doubling. Jordan's post-up and fadeaway would be enough to handle Lebrons teams whereas Bosh could not be relied upon in the post or from 3 to beat the Bulls. I see the Bulls winning either series in 5 or 6 and none of the games going to 7. If anyone disagrees with that assessment tell me HOW ANY OF LEBRONS teams could dispatch that Jordan team. This is a good thought experiment because it throws away tainted stats and leaves matchups and competitiveness as the sole arbiter.

    The Jordan "rusty" myth in 1995 is largely revisionist history. People act like the Orlando series was Jordan's first game back or something. Jordan had well shaken off the rust by the time he played the Magic and the Bulls were the favorites in that series. Chris Broussard says Jordan didn't shoot a good percentage the whole time back, which isn't true at all. He didn't shoot well the first few games of the regular season when he had to get the rust off, but in the 1995 playoffs Jordan shot the highest percentage of any playoffs in his post-retirement career. Both highest FG% and highest eFG%. For that matter, at the time people were even saying that Jordan skipping most of the season gave him an unfair advantage because he had fresh legs while his opponents were worn down.
    Which was an advantage he needed, because Jordan apparently wasn't in his normal good graces with David Stern at the time.

      Not sure if you're a butthurt Bronsexual or just butthurt that no one gives the Magic the credit for beating the a rusty Jordan

    • @TheRiggedBA
      @TheRiggedBA 7 лет назад +2

      Well you can be sure that I'm not a worshipful Jordanite who's psychologically compelled to make up false excuses for his failures. Jordan's shooting percentages in that playoffs on his fresh legs were the best he ever shot in any year after coming out of retirement. That's just a fact. Which makes the revisionist excuse that he shot poorly due to imagined "rust" the opposite of a fact, ie false.

    • @TheRiggedBA
      @TheRiggedBA 7 лет назад

      +Andrew Blackop
      It was general consensus that Jordan was going to win in 1995, too. What people like to imagine about Jordan and what reality says are often two different things. If you'd like to imagine that Jordan was better than LeBron, Shaq and Penny combined, OK. But in the real world Jordan didn't show it when they played.

    • @DonkeyKong5479
      @DonkeyKong5479 7 лет назад +8

      TheRiggedBA His 6 championships, 6 Finals MVPs and 5 league MVPs says otherwise.

    • @TheRiggedBA
      @TheRiggedBA 7 лет назад +4

      No, they don't. Championships are team accomplishments and don't say anything about how individual players compare against each other. Vote-based awards like MVP are nice, but are just opinions. LeBron has 4 league MVPs and counting and could be MVP every year. Bill Russell has ELEVEN championships, 5 league MVPs and the Finals MVP is literally named after him. If that's your standard, then Jordan isn't the GOAT, Bill Russell is. Not only is Russell the GOAT, but he's almost twice as good as Jordan.
