    Met Ice-T a few years ago when he came & spoke at my university here in Ohio. It was a free lecture where he spoke about his life & racial issues in America. Super interesting guy with a crazy background; he was some sort of spec-ops/black beret in the Army & used his skills to commit robberies & stuff when he came back home.
    We all got pictures with him & he was super friendly. I’m sure he’s mellowed out over the last 30 years, but it sounds like he was chill even then going by your story. I think he must have liked you, Harry!
    All of the pictures you took were awesome! Great video as always.

    I have a collection of Select The Photographic Showcase magazines from the 90's but I can find no reference to them now, pre Phototshop times.
    Another fascinating talk, I look forward to more. 👍

    I love this channel, not only because of my interest in photography, but it also takes me back to my early 20’s! Harry’s photos are the photographic backdrop to my youth. Each photo is like leafing through an old family album, these are great videos, long may they continue.

    Brilliant video - as always - guys. Your channel is pure gold.
    A question, if may. Say you're commissioned to photograph a celebrity in a hotel. Do you bring lots of equipment, to cover any eventuality, or do you bring a minimalist kit - because experience tells you it's all you need?
    Keep up the excellent work.
    Regards, Ciarán

    The blue Ice-T photo is still stunning, especially when you see the whole frame, as opposed to the magazine crop. It shows the importance of having the "photographer's eye". The look of that photo wouldn't have shown in the optical viewfinder, so I guess Harry just had to previsualise it and know it would look like that once it was developed?

    • @fredandharryborden
      @fredandharryborden  6 дней назад

      Thanks a lot as always! It is one of my favourite pics of Harry's. I think it is part that but also those punchy colours from cross processing was quite common from Harry at the time. @Harryborden what do you think?

    • @harryborden6077
      @harryborden6077 6 дней назад

      Sorry for my tardiness! The previsualisation was mainly do with knowing how the flash would darken the sky. I was on my back, looking through the viewfinder, so I was able to compose the picture. 🙏

    Hi Fred and Harry.
    The pressure must of been immense to get a picture of, Larry the Cat, as failure to do so would of left Harry's reputation floating down the swanee :-) Do you think it is to Harry's advantage that he has a benign appearance and Americans underestimate him as a result? I call it the, Eve Arnold, factor. Also, if, for example, Harry wanted to do a line of merch called - 'Harry in the Hood' hoodies with the Ice T photo. Would he need permission from anyone or would his copyright ownership of the picture mean he would not have to?
    Have a good start to the week fellas

    • @harryborden6077
      @harryborden6077 11 дней назад +1

      Hi, I own the copyright and I can use my IP editorially. If the video's are about my photography, it's fine. I think merchandise (including hoodies) would have to be about the fact I took the picture and my oeuvre. If they just had a picture of Ice T, he might argue for a share of revenue generated...

      Thanks. You must have been a very early adopter! The very first Photoshop version was released in January 1988 and was very primitive software compared to the huge juggernaut that Adobe developed over time. I started using it around this time (1993) but had to get someone to scan my originals before we manipulated them on his computer. 🙂
