- Each new map is more challenging than the last, and going from Chiang Mai to Lisbon is no different. Let's tackle this one for the first time, together!

I have been using your content to improve my game play I’m able to get over 4000 now just wanted to say thanks
Makes a teacher proud :') I'm hoping to release an advanced player's guide later this year if timelines work out, so stay tuned for that!
@@Retroflux will do absolutely love your vids
@@Retroflux Yes please! It's entirely thanks to your vids that I was getting Top 1-5% runs in my first week of actually playing the game, would love to see more MM content.
@@Retroflux late to this, but that would be amazing! Love the motorways content, I get it can be repetitive for you but there's so little high level gameplay with useful commentary online.
@@glittalogiksame here lol
haven't watched your content for a month or two now, but your commentary is still has relaxing as always, and your smooth voice is perfect to listen too late at night
especially love the mini motorways videos - keep it up!
love the content but there is the game sound thatis this single tone that just induces migraines 😢
This one is definitely challenging. I started out choosing roundabouts over bridges, that was a big mistake. If you do that you don't get a freeway until past 1000. Everything was going well until it started plopping stuff over on the land in the bottom right and bottom left. Without a lot of bridges and freeways you're screwed. I only made it to the 50% range when it all blew up. The second time I grabbed all the bridges and got a freeway at 200. I also blocked off everything on the top and bottom right. I didn't want to deal with that mess until I was ready. Then it started putting stores on the bottom left and the matching houses on the bottom right. By this time I had accumulated several bridges and a lot of roads, so I build two roads / bridges along the bottom. If you rely on only one bridge there you've got a serious log jam between blue and white. Best to keep them separate. Then the oranges went insane. I used up two freeways for the two orange monsters. Left all the original orange houses on the mainland for the smaller orange shops. The oranges kept screaming but everyone was getting all they could handle. Then the blues and whites started screaming. They had plenty of supply but just couldn't get enough and eventually the blues killed it. I got in the top 10% which isn't bad for a 2nd attempt. On other maps I usually get top 10% on my first try and top 1% on 2nd or 3rd try. This one was definitely harder than the others. I found on this map that roundabouts really don't help much. Unless you have a large group feeding into a monster with a freeway. If you have the option of a roundabout or 30 roads, take 30 roads, they'll help you a lot more.
One thing I personally try to do in addition to using roads to keep paths open like you is use some roads to block off right next to entrances to factories so I can always put a roundabout there, just in case. Nice work getting several very high scores :)
First time I've heard them called factories - did you think that name up yourself? Is that the name for the circles, squares, or both? Blocking a little at the entrances is a good idea for a more stable gameplay, I'll have to work that into my setups when I can!
Huray! More Mini Motorways! Keep 'em coming! :)
I don't even play motorways but your voice make me sleep better at night haha
If I could talk myself to sleep I would 😂 much love!
Imagine if they added a modifier that makes cars travel twice as fast, but pip spawns stay the same
Im gonna miss when you stop posting Mini Motorways content :(
Have you considered speedrunning mini motorways? We would be very excited to see more people on the boards!
...wait that's a thing?
Yep there’s categories for different numbers of commuters on individual levels, and for all the levels combined in full game runs :)
You played about as well as possible, specially for a blind run. All I saw was the occasional log jam getting cars from dense neighborhoods on to the main road out but that's always a problem.
Been running half assed tests on dense residential road design affecting flow. Specifically, is it better to cluster multiple houses on feeder road sand then merge them into main egress road, or stagger driveways so each shares no road connection with any other driveway. Or a combination? Had little luck regulating traffic with traffic lights; they can def wreck flow. The right turn on red plan is less helpful with long queues on all sides of a residential intersection. At least, as you've shown, roundabouts help but in a map like this or Chiang Mai, picking roundabouts over bridges or highways is like suicide. Still it's such a frustrating loss having tons of houses supplying a destination but they're all jammed up trying to exit their hood. That wasn't the downfall on this playthru but a better delay reduction in getting asses moving towards destinations would help every playthru.
I've watched your apothecary\alchemy playthroughs and enjoy your commentary and what you add to the game but the genre not my cup of tea. Diff strokes for diff folks. Have you considered checking out AQR? Or Railgrade, seems like it's got some MM overlap with its own unique mechanics and style. The AQR model is what I was loudly advocating for during early days of MM.
4028... Can't get near it again though!
Blue/Orange in the middle; You had blue entering on organe side and orange entering on blue side. With a bridge for orange going south, orange could have entered on orange side and with motorway, blue enter on blue side. This would cause the cars to not drive through the parking lot. Make sense or am I completly off?
I kinda hate using the roads to block spawns on purpose, just on the principle that it feels wrong to me lmoa. But i guess thats why ur getting high scores and im getting like 1500 on avarage 😂. Reapect dude maybe ill try the blocking thing. Or maybe ill stick to my stupid principle
I try not to use them to block spawns if I can help it, but I do use them if I have a plan for where I want roads later! Once you learn where colours spawn, those kinds of preemptive roads are SUPER important
14:17 I saw that you leave a line on top of the light-blue houses. What's the benefits of doing this ?
Have you done that challenge where they gave you unlimited motorways?
Eyy, finally a new Mini Motorways video
That center dark blue never caught up even after adding the motorway. Really should have brought it through the middle instead of around on the bridge. Looking forward to trying this one myself.
found you yesterday looking for lofi music to chill but your voice os so much better. Hope to see more videos like this soon same with all quiet roads i think ya mentioned them in one of ealier videos. Have a good night man,, peaceeeeee
Nice video, zooming effect is a bit to close, probably should do more zoom out for better vision where is a changes
Nice first attempt! I'd watch a high score run if you go that route. But that challenge... Man that looks brutal!! I cannot wait to watch your tackle that!
I been in Lisbon and it was a much more welcoming city than this hellhole!!!
Me who has over 1100 in Lisbon 👀
Nice vid
yessss
watching RNG screw you is the most painful thing lmao
