i played this game on the PS2 and remembering the graphics being great for PS2 standards, can't believe how bad it looks now when looking back at it.

you can play it in emulator in 4k so... but then you have the pc hd remaster plus mods, and also the superior gamecube version which you can also play in emulator in 4k

When it first came out, the GC version makes you feel like it was just all a dream and blurry eyes. The suspense and fear feels real and organic. Now that I've played the PC version(2014 in 4K), I can't get that.
Does the Wii version capture that same effect?

the GC,PS2 and WII versions all have a certain nice feel to it,or maybe it's just nostalgia. The HD versions take some of the magic and ambience out of it
I think that since the game was made with low res in mind they could get away with adding less detal since you cant really see all the imperfections. Once you have more res you can see a lot more,

@@tostadorafuriosa69 Nah, imperfections are not even a problem but some scenes look different on the original like in 2:13 where the ambiance look a bit different at the far side like you can see brush there on the PS2 version but not on the HD versions... Also, colors change a lot on the higher resolution which also ruins the ambiance...

Honestly, this game looks almost better in low resolution. It has this VHS horror film vibe. Once it's in HD you see all the imperfections. And I'm saying this as a longtime PC gamer who's always preferred sharp high resolutions.
Agreed, I recently played through it on steam, then hooked up my CRT & Gamecube, took few mins to adjust but the lighting is so much better in the OG version, reloading on rifle feels smoother too, just little touches, only gripe is that it runs 30fps on Gamecube, still prefer it overall though.

Great job, man. Somehow, the GameCube version still looks best to me and has the best feel. And it's not nostalgia, I never played it. I think it's just that the blurry image and lower resolution hide all the smooth surfaces and edges and make it all look more "dirty" and real.
true, and you can tell with the original Gamecube that it was designed for that system and the original vision of the game. The farmers in the original you can barely see their eyes and they have a shadow to them as if they're already gone and taken by the parasite. In HD version their eyes look too open and clean

Man the GC version still looks and sounds amazing, I want to play it again. The PS2 clunky walking sound is terrible and ages it so much...it sounds like a PS1 game. Never overlook sound design.
Ya I don’t even care of the graphics it’s just slightly better on GameCube but PlayStation 2 has bad sound for re4 wich ps2 is more than capable of having good sound crapcom did that on purpose you can try to enjoy the shitty sound effects tho it does make the game more scarier in a way but ya ps2 is more than capable of having better sound plus some of the fire on ps2 version doesn’t even have light around it it’s obvious crapcom could of done better with ps2 GameCube even tho it’s close to ps2 power and yes I know GameCube has better cpu and a little better gpu but if you look into console specs in depth you can see that ps2 and GameCube are pretty close once you add everything up Xbox was more powerful than both tho plus idk why shinji makima said he’ll shoot himself if re4 Is on ps2 yet he made god hand a ps2 exclusives 😂

A ver claramente la peor versión es la de Ps2 pero de ahí a decir que da cáncer... no. En su tiempo esos gráficos estaba muy bien! La Ps2 jugaba con desventaja en cuanto a potencia y salió en una época en la que la gente no se preocupaba por los gráficos y a cuantos FPS iba el juego. Y ojo yo jugué a la de Gamecube y me parece mucho mejor pero la versión de Ps2 estaba bien para su época.

Las versiones de gc ps2 y wii se ven asi porque fueron diseñadas para pantallas tipo crt o de tubo, y al tratar de ver con pantallas de ahora: de tipos lcd o oled se ven muy mal
E jugado este juego ps2 ps3 y ps4 y las graficas de ps2 me gustan mas menos iluminacion mas miedo lo sabras en la isla

La de Wii no tendrá los mejores gráficos pero los que lo hemos probado en Wii sabrán que la jugabilidad es asombrosa, es una experiencia simpemente genial.

Yo tengo en casa la versión de PC, GAMECUBE Y WII. Me llamó mucho la atención la lograda versión de PLAYSTATION 2. Realmente el juego luce muy chulo, manteniendo todo el sabor del clásico.

En cuanto a gráficos la de PC con el HD Project se ve mucho mejor que las demás. En cuanto a jugabilidad sin lugar a duda la de Wii es la mejor.
Y si comparamos gráficos a su debido tiempo de lanzamiento la de GameCube es muy superior.

En la versión de 2014, los controles si están adaptados a dicho pc y son mucho más cómodos.

I remember when this game came out on GameCube and I would spend countless hours on this one, resident evil 4 will always be my go to game. But hey maybe a complete remake for ps5 🤷🏻♂️

the gamecube version is the best, its the game it was originally designed with the gamecube in mind ! The newer HD releases look damn sharp but they lost the muddy gritty look and flair of the gamecube version.
Nah, rather stick to the PS4 version. GC was the first version I played but when I got my hands on the PS4 version, I didn't want to keep the GC version so I traded it in. Definitely love playing RE4 on my PS4, but damn do I wish the Island script was changed to keep the horror elements intact. After the Castle, the game started to feel bogged down with action and felt like a war game instead of horror/adventure.
I played the shit out of the GameCube version, and I think the XBOX 360 version captures it the best in the HD realm.
The XB1/PS4 ports are aesthetically pleasing for sure at 1080p/60, but they don't control or perform quite right. With the solid 60 frames, I found a LOT of accelerated animations and bugs just from them being tied to the framerate that was then doubled.
QTEs and the jetski sequence had it the worst though, just... ugh

It's good to own the Gamecube version for collecting purposes because it's the original release. For actually playing I prefer the PC version with RE4HD mod, it's very good looking, runs on 4K 60 FPS and the load times are practically non-existent.

I'm actually in shock, why does the ps2 version look so horrible wtf, usually I'd pick ps2 versions of games over gamecube any day bc of graphics but the gamecube's graphics for Res Evil 4 are undoubtedly way better. And for anybody who's saying the wii looks worse than ps2, do u have eyes? The wii is almost identical to the gamecube version. People just love making up excuses to bash the wii when it wasn't even that bad of a console. Had great games in it's first few years.

The GameCube is a more powerful system than the PS2 and has superior graphics. And the Wii is similar because both are made by Nintendo... PS2 was never more powerful.

Wii Edition is the definitive version imo; superior aiming controls or option to play with original GC pad the game was designed for, fantastic visuals with the right setup (I play on Wii with component cables), plus all the content released for it.

Quizas no se acuerden o tal vez no tenian edad para saber, pero Resident Evil 4 salio como exclusiva temporal para GameCube, la version PS2 salio mas de 1 año despues. En cuanto a graficos obviamente no se esmeraron mucho en la version PS2 xD pero salvo las empresas First Party no pudieron sacarle todo el juego a la PS2. Sin dudas que graficamente la Ps2 era la que menos potencia grafica tenia en esa generacion (hasta Dreamcast se veia mejor).
Cierto! Aunque yo fui muy fan del PS2, definitivamente no tenía las mismas capacidades gráficas de las otras consolas--especialmente el XBOX en ese entonces.

La versión de GameCube en su tiempo fue la mejor, la baja de gráficos en el Playstation 2 era porque traía más cosas como el separate ways y creo que the mercenaries(aunque de este no estoy seguro), yo la primera vez lo jugué en PC pero me gustó más la versión de Playstation 2 por comodidad y además de que la PC no era mía xd, hace poco jugué la versión de Xbox One y me encantó, dónde se nota más mejora es en las escenas, ahí es donde se ve de puta madre, lastimosamente vendí el Xbox One pero en cuanto me llegue la Playstation 4 Pro compraré dicho juego, los gráficos no importan mucho sinceramente,si hablamos de un clásico como este, así como está te da esa nostalgia de mi caso cuando tenía 15 años, lo jugué en 2008 por primera vez.

Si, yo la he probado en ps2, pc, xbox360 y GC, y esta última se lleva a todas por lejos, además que era más cómodo jugar con el mando de GC porque podías girar rápido con la C
Si tienes razon sobre todo el tema de texturas diseñó de personajes sombras etc yo noto que la version de WII ,PC hd, 360 son un port de la version de PS2 eso si con lo que le falta a la version de PS2 en el escenario y para mi version de Gamecube es la mejor lejos saludos.

I have always been amazed by the ps2 version. The fact they were able pull it off with no loss in quality. Only loss was there were no realtime cutscenes just fmv.

I have the most fun with Wii version the aim controls was amazing it felt almost a completely different game at times,it made any other version felt clunky and frustrating in comparison.
I'm into light gun games so the Wii version is the best one.

Basically the Wii, GameCube and PS2 versions are what if feels to watch a movie on DVD vs. PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC (and Switch) is what it feels like to watch a movie on Blu-Ray. I prefer these remasters and ports because modern convenience. Although I got the Wii version on my HDD and play it off USB Loader GX.

Watching this made me realise the 2007 PC port doesnt even look half as bad as anyone said. I even remember it was the first time I played RE4 on and I did like it, I dunno why everyone hated it so much back then :/ Now with the HD remake its all a thing of the past but still. Other PC ports I like and people hated are DMC3 SE and Metal gear Solid 2 Substance !
I think the real issue with the ports of RE4 and those other games you mentioned had more to do with botched controls and other weird issues.
It looks the worst out of all of the versions since there’s no shadows or fog to make the game look nicer and the controls were botched as well as how weird they were

@@bastianvalenzuela2968 hay gente que no tiene para un pc gamer y si quieres jugar juegos de buena calidad al precio mas bajo posible en graficos buenos lo mejor es una consola, ya que sale mucho mas barata y te puede ofrecer la misma experiencia.
La guerra de consolas es una basura en sí, no entres en esa toxicidad amigo, todos tienen gustos diferentes y eso hay que respetarlo. Esto te lo dice una persona a la que le encanta jugar en pc y es su plataforma favorita, antes de que me digas "Eso lo dices porque eres de consola".

Tengo la versión HD que está en Steam pero al ver la versión de 2007 para PC me parece increíble... Muy buenos gráficos en ese tiempo y pues actualmente la que mejor se ve en mi opinión es la versión de Xbox One por mucho.
Y ni hablar de la gamecube, se veia muy bestia tambien. Me pregunto como habria sido varios juegos de la wii si nintendo hubiera seguido por un camino de potencia visual.
Es curioso, pienso que este juego tiene más encanto en un televisor de tubo con la poca definición que otorga, que en sus versiones hd... Sus texturas y posibles errores quedan mejor disimulados... Pasa en otros muchos y supongo que es porque estaban pensados para dichos aparatos.
Claro. Es que es así. Los videojuegos como no llegaban como mínimo a 720p sus fuentes nativas eran monitores de tubo de baja resolución.
Y por eso los juegos se ven excelentes, mejor que remasterizarlos para verlos en una 4k. Ya que así hace que la imagen se vea tan limpia y aumentada que las texturas y demás se pixelen y no se ven bien hoy.
En cambio tu conectas una PS2 a un TV antiguo y te pones el juego, dices WoW que bien se ve este juegazo.
la mejor versión Game Cube lo jugué en 2005, la peor en Wii se veía mucho peor que en la ps2, uno de los 10 mejores juegos de la historia
la tematica no es complicada hasta cierto punto basica sin mucha espectacularidad lo que hace grande a esta obra de arte es el diseño de sus escenarios
+Consuelo Castillo bueno yo lo probé en el egs en México en 2004 y no creíamos lo que mirábamos, de verdad era impactante jugarlo xD hasta esa fecha no se había hecho algo similar y junto a gta san Andreas, mgs snake eater y half life 2, ese fue el mejor año en la historia de los videojuegos xDDD
+Jesman Silotiene si su jugaba utilizando el Wii mote, te parabas frente a la tele y apuntaban con el control para disparar y para los time events lo debías mover izquierda o derecha, era tedioso pero a algunos les gusto xDDD
Yo considero que la versión de wii es mejor(por lo menos en comparación a ps2 y gamecube) por el simple hecho de que venía con todo el contenido extra, caso en el que la gc no contaba con los añadidos y ps2 tenía peores gráficos. Claro que si hablamos de consolas más recientes, ahí si no podría afirmar que es mejor.
vagrantxii aunque la versión de wii es como del 2009 y la del 2007 de pc tenia todos los extras, gráficamente la de ps2 con poner la opción del reescalado a 520p si le ganaba a la de wii que no tenia hagline pero se miraba muy borrosa xD la de wii y ps2 es la misma supongo porque en GC salían hasta 3 enemigos extras por ronda

Acho que a versão de PS2 era a mais facil de zerar pois tinha menos inimigos por conta da limitação do console principalmente no The mercenaries que tinha menos inimos e era mais dificil de fazer combos altos porque chegava um certo ponto em que os inimigos paravam de vim porque o ps2 era muito fraco ai tiveram que tirar algums inimigos.
Lo que pasa es que Capcom simplemete no puede "remasterizar" un juego ya que le sale peor
por alguna estupida razon que aun no se descubre

You also missed that the gamecube used in engine cutscenes while the ps2 were pre rendered.
But I would like to know if they kept the water splashes from the hd remaster or were they ports of the ps2.
me acordé cuando iba en la primaria y lo jugaba en el wii, era más fácil apuntar con el wii mote pero lo recordaba más difícil ahora que lo juego en xbox one y ya voy en la uni jaja, como pasa el tiempo...
la versión de ps2 no se ve tan fea xD y te lo digo por que yo lo tengo y no se ve así como en tu vídeo se ve en mi tele mucho mejor que eso
Video Random si de echo no se ve tan mal pero de seguro lo grabo en una pc con los cables Av ordinarios por eso ya que las pc ya se ven como las pantallas led LCD y plasma y tienen como que mayor opacidad y sobre todo si lo conectas con el cable de video oridinario amarillo blanco y rojo ya que este cable solo ofrece colores mas sencillos y baja nitidez ya que una vez juge el re4 en mi ps2 en una pantalla LCD y se oscuro y borroso a diferencia de una tele de de tubo de las grandes que se ven con mas brillo pero si le compras al ps2 un cable Av por componentes se ve super mejor ya que tiene 1 colores más vivos 2 mayor nitidez 3 mejor brillo hasta parece hd aunque no lo es

and the other because albert remakes the textures respecting its original integrity of the GC version
Now we have Switch version too, and....basically looks like Xbox One and PS4 version so nothing much to write home about other than looks nice in handheld mode as well.

my first Resident Evil 4 was on GameCube in 2005
The Wii and PC versions (mouse and keyboard at least) made the aiming easier without making the game too easy. The PS2 has worse graphics than both, and is the weaker port graphically but even with that being said, it still looks pretty good. The lines on his jacket really make the difference.
I grew up on the Sony PS2 and i honestly never knew that the Gamecube was more powerful than the PS2.
i just found out that the GC is almost 2x more powerful than the ps2 😯. Now i want a GameCube.

Bueno hasta ahora estoy jugando en modo profesional en resident evil 4 para Xbox 360 fue algo duro en casi todos los capítulos
1.los zombies aldeanos son duros consumí casi las hierbas medicinales,sprays de primeros auxilios y casi desperdició las municiones de pistola y escopeta

yo cuando lo jugué en modo profesional para desbloquear el arma de rayos recuerdo que los acuchillaba y patadas, asi mismo cuando los tiraba al suelo los acuchillaba para q murieran y no desperdiciar balas

Jugue solo las versiones del Game Cube (el día del estreno), PS2, WII, XBOX360 y ahora la de XBOX ONE. La verdad no había puesto atención a los detalles de las versiones HD tales como el movimiento de la chamarra y del cabello de León. Sin duda es un juegazo que a envejecido muy bien.
