      I had a spare dice bag laying around and used that. As long as the tokens lay flat, it works perfectly.

    100% did not know about the mulligan rule. We've never been in a situation that called for it, but if we did, my play group would likely scoff at it and just let the badgers get a broken starting position, choosing to balance it themselves by way of bloodshed. Ha.

    • @nitrorev
      @nitrorev  2 года назад +2

      Yeah, I think it came up way later after Marauder was already off to the printers and I think Granatap asked about what happens in the situation and Guerric needed to ask Josh. It's in the FAQ on the Woodland Companion app but since most people would be going off the printed law, there's literally no way to learn about this unless they went to check online.

    Has anything changed in the mentioned rules? Currently, the page in ADS states: "If you cannot meet the "two or more clearings between" requirement, you can choose a homeland that is not adjacent to enemy homelands. If you can't meet the 'not adjacent to each other' requirement, you can choose a homeland that is adjacent to an enemy homeland." (Basically, this can be understood as "Try to spread out as far as possible.")".

    • @nitrorev
      @nitrorev  8 месяцев назад

      That's correct. The mulligan rule is the only thing that was clarified more recently in the FAQ.

    Great video, I was unaware of the mulligan rule. To clarify: if you cannot choose a homeland far enough away from others to meet the your factions ADSET requirement, if that also grounds for a mulligan? I don’t believe so but wanted to check.

    • @nitrorev
      @nitrorev  2 года назад +1

      Hey thanks. No, an important rule of Adset is that you basically set up as far as possible if you cannot choose homelands far enough away. If you cannot go somewhere where there's 2 or more clearings in between, then drop the requirement to 1 clearing and try again. If you still cannot, then just choose a homeland that isn't the same clearing as another homeland. The only time we Mulligan is if there's no possible way to set up even if we get rid of the distance rule, literally because there don't exist 2 non-homelands on the map edge that are adjacent.

    Question on mulligan rule: do you mean that keepers can’t be used in this game, and you have to pick a different faction?

    • @nitrorev
      @nitrorev  2 года назад

      Yes, if you cannot complete setup, you cannot play the faction and just switch the setup card for another high reach faction.

    Amazing video as always! Just a side question regarding the corvid adset, is it possible for the corvid to set up their homeland clearing (with the plot token) in the same clearing of other factions such as cat/rats or keepers in iron? Thanks!

    • @nitrorev
      @nitrorev  2 года назад +1

      Thanks so much! A general rule of ADSET is that you can never choose another faction's homeland as your own. The Riverfolk company doesn't have a homeland so you could place your plot token and starting warrior in the same clearing as the Riverfolk company and you can also place the plot in a clearing with enemy pieces that aren't a homeland (for example the moles, lizards and cats have warriors outside their homeland) but never put the plot in a clearing that's already a chosen homeland.

      Hey thank you very much! I don't have very much experience with the bots and do not own the clockwork expansions. Thankfully, you're in luck because another RUclipsr (and a big inspiration for my channel) called GivePauseHobby has many videos where he teaches the bots. I encourage you to check out his channel.

    It’s surprising how this game has so many mistakes and misprints since the very start. With a new expansion we have more fixes now😂
    I was contemplating not buying the new expansion now and waiting for it going into atleast 2 more print editions. Because I was afraid it would have mistakes and rules that would be tweaked in near future. (Ended up buying it any way)
    This is only game I know of that has had so many changes and fixes. Makes one wonder what is their testing phase like. What are we in atm 8th or 9th print edition if I am not wrong?
    Some might say it’s great that they keep fixing and balancing the game. But for me it always raises an eye brow.

      I can understand why it would be annoying to constantly have to keep up to date with changing rules but on the plus side it means that the company has an ear to the community and is willing to make tough decisions to change the rules slightly to keep the game fair rather than just say "it is what it is and there's no changing anything, even if it's currently busted. Deal with it!"
      That's why I'm using my platform to try to keep the community up to date as well as I can because not everyone is as invested in the living rules as I am.

    What went wrong? How could one change the game in your fav?

      Not trusting the Lizard player on that deal and just battle the bomb like I had initially planned (I ever had a bird Ambush in hand in case I got ambushed). Also my tabletalk was a little on the weak side this game because there were already a lot of talkative players so it was hard to get a word in edgewise (another reason I am not a big fan of 5 player game). I remember saying to the Lizards player not to let the Vagabond become allied and the Lizards player simply let it happen and then Vagabond became such a big problem. I said it too quietly and Guerric didn't even hear me so later when the allied Vagabond happened he was saying that "the whole table let it happen and nobody said anything" but I actually did, just not forcefully enough.
      I know people might think my Charm Offensive points were what let the Corvids win but I certainly couldn't help anybody else, and wasn't about the help the lizards after the backstab (hence why you don't backstab early in the game) so giving the point to crows was my only choice. I gave the point under the assumption that the table could remove the plots but it was too late and people got greedy instead of denying the crows the flip points. Also that bomb they flipped on my was worth like 5 VP if you include the base and sympathy so it was really a matter of the table letting crows getting away with too much. I'm sure there were other plays I could have made but it was a long time ago and those were the table mistakes I can recall.
