Im building inshore wading/kayak blanks for Redfish, flounder, and specs. Anything from UL (bfs) to Med and occasionally a MH. Theres so many blanks that are vastly different and all listed the same power and action. I wish manufacturers would use CCS numbers. Also, deflection testing is crucial for guide placement.

super helpful. been considering the SWB70ML and your test on the M confirmed it. I have also built on the RCLB70XL and have a L I'm about to build. I cut the RCLBs down a couple inches to bring fulcrum back a bit since I am in a kayak but long enough to get tip around bow. Rainshadows are a great product and the Batson team and Get Bit Outdoors is wonderful to work with.

I actually prefer lighter tackle and a softer rod than most people but maybe that’s just me… It would kinda be like bass fishing with deep sea gear, not much fun in my opinion but if you just want to drag them in I guess that would be the way to go… I enjoy the fight on lighter gear. Cool video though.

I use bass gear in saltwater!

@@randy3907 check out Chatt cats fishing… They catch huge catfish on 10lb test with ugly stick combos… I think he does use 20lb leader so their tooth patch don’t cut the line.. We do the same thing at the dam, drifting/ free lining chicken breast… You get a bunch of eater size but every now and then you’ll get big daddy… It’s fun on light gear.

Is gel coating over the old rods good or not just wondering because I want it to look like my boat.

i am sick of watching all you fracking liars saying building fishing rods when all you do is put grips and eyes on it but you all buy blanks

Not sure if you have looked into grips like the muddy river but Mud Hole Carries some I think are real close they said there the same as some golf club grips that are real popular ,I don't Play golf so it didn't mean anything to me😐 . But from what everyone says about Kris' grip they sound similar. You may already know someplace else that carries them, but if you didn't.

If you want to personalize your rod look into the marbling , it's super easy and cool as hell.🙂🙂👍👍👍👊

The length of wraps and guide feet will also have an effect on the bend of the rod. I learned that the hard way.
