Probably the biggest compliment I can give you for your (as always, excellent) video is that I've now booked a flight to Bali so I can check out some of these properties myself first hand after watching your recent Bali videos!
I wanted some info on japan airlines so I searched youtube and got your video about it's business class, after that video I've watched almost every single one of your airplane video atleast twice, the visuals, the graphs, seat info, lounge info is so so useful and interesting. You deserve these 10k people
Thanks to you this hotel is now in our travel plans for next year on our way down under. We stayed at the Belmond in Siem Reap a few years back and they hit that one out of the park, so we weren't hugely surprised you scored this one so highly.
Now that I understand the brand philosophy more- I’m dying to try out more of their properties. Samui and Luang Prabang are top of my list at the moment. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Great review. I particularly like the narration you have made. It covers what is not shown in the videos and provides audience different perspectives. I know it's extremely time consuming to prepare for this part, in addition to all other editing work - as I can totally relate when I am doing similar work here. I wish at one point I could be as comprehensive as you are in terms of reviewing hotels.
Hi Kevin. May you please start to add whether the pools are cold or warm in Bali. We have been to Bali 6 times. Most recent was grand Hyatt nusa dua. The beach was beautiful. The water was cool and refreshing. Surfing lessons etc. but the pool water was hot 🥵 not refreshing. Like taking a warm bath. I think the Balinese resorts need to look into cooling systems for the pools. We don’t want to travel and swim in bath water. We are booked in to Hilton nusa dua this Xmas. If you know anything about the pool water there would be appreciated. Loving your videos. Thank you so much for the inspiration.
I’m an “after dark” kinda pool guy so I usually appreciate the heated pools, but will take note during the day time at future resorts. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Congrats on the well-deserved 10K subscribers that you've just reached. A bit sad to see that your Balinese series is slowly coming to an end as it has become part of my weekly routine to follow your reviews on these beautiful properties. Definitely inspired me (and many others from what I saw in the comments) for my trip to Bali next year. Thank you, as always, for what you do, and excited to see some flight and European hotel reviews coming soon!
Great resort, had the same bungalow as you and unfortunately our A/C was not functioning. Staff upgraded us to villa immediately. Can’t say enough about the service here. Keep your great reviews coming!
There is always more to enjoy in Bali because there is always a new hotel coming up in Bali. Is it just me or I got the vibes of The Oberoi in this Belmond Jimbaran Puri? It is a lovely property. It’s always a delight to be in an intimate cosy hotel than the huge properties. I just had to say this - even after meeting our soul mates, or the new replacement, there will always be some love-hate elements to it. It is not meant to be perfect so that we can continually enjoy the differences and flaws in each other. Some thing tells me that you are old enough to understand this, Kevin 😄 Thank you for another wonderful review. Another hotel to visit in Bali. Let us know if the Hoshinoya Bali and Banyan Tree’s Buahan ever made it into your review list. by the way, your pronunciation in Bahasa is pretty good! Well travelled indeed. 😊
But of course, that’s why it got a 98/100… whereas the 100/100 Como Uma is not my favorite spot on the island 😂 And after weeks of everyone telling me I’m pronouncing Ubud wrong, thanks for that and as always thanks for watching 🙏🏻

Sunken bathtubs are cool, and while they date the room now, in 3 years they will be in again. Sometimes it’s best to leave the room the way it was designed than renovate with cheaper materials
Thanks for this great review. My beach resort experiences in Bali have been in Nusa Dua which, after a while, seemed way too sterile. Not only does the Belmond have more local character, it also seems to be walking distance to food at local warungs.
Yes, Nusa Dua does not give you any authentic Balinese experience unless you leave the resort complex. Furthermore, you don't get sunset in the eastern side of Bali.
Both sides have their pros and cons. Certainly I prefer Belmond to anything in Nusa Dua, but I do also love sunrises haha. Thanks both of you for watching 🙏🏻
Firstly FF, that was a really great review. Well done, your style is rare and you should keep it - not like you need too much more encouragement to travel ;) I am taking my wife away for her 40th (end of April 2023 from Australia) and I think your video has swayed me here. I was originally looking at Anantara and Ayana in Uluwatu but I think this looks nicer (slightly less touristy if I dare to say) and on the beach. She told me she doesn’t want anything too sterile and I think your video conveys the more “Balinese” laid back version people want. My mum travelled to Bali on her hippy trail in the 60’s and she still gets emotional talking about how heavily Bali was in those days.
The Belmond here really is a special property. It’s just enough of everything but never over the top- and while Jimbaran in general might be more touristy than Uluwatu, you’d never know it once you step foot into this property. If ever there was a testimonial, this is the resort I’m sending my family to next year. One of only two properties out of the 110+ I’ve been to in the past two years. Thanks so much for watching and I’m sure you and your wife will enjoy it 🙏🏻
Ok so I jumped the gun! I came to this video after the Intercontinental and I gotta say The Belmond just made me speechless! 😮 So I’m glad I haven’t made my reservation yet! Great videos per usual Kevin!
Always a 5* Review, absolutely love your videos. Number 1 channel on YT for me. The only thing i miss is the Time Stamp of your visits, would be nice to know at what month you stayed because the weather always looks perfect. Would love to have the same light effects during my stays. What time do you visit this resoort?
The month I visit a resort is always in the “envelope” graphic on the right hand side around 40-60 seconds into the video. All of my Bali resorts were in June 2022. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thank you for this review , so excited to be staying here in 2 months! I was worried I made a wrong choice, was contemplating to choose this or Oberoi.
I actually had a full Japan trip planned for this past June, but the country didn’t open up in time so I made this trip to Bali instead. I’ll surely get up there at some point next year and wouldn’t mind if it was an extended trip 😂. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Vibes are totally different. Belmond is much more grown up, Andaz is much more dynamic. Depends how easily your kids are entertained I suppose haha. Thanks for watching 🩴
Great review, but I think you re missing a point with the breakfast comparison. Been to both (and several others in Bali). Belmond is an old style very basic buffet very nicely presented but that's pretty much it, it has not changed in the past 10 years. The resort is small enough to offer breakfast in that way, however think about the array: much is filled up with decoration and whole fruits. Products are top, anyhow. Six Senses is double the size (not in units, but in bedrooms as they have large villas), I was there when they did the a la carte (delicious) and also when they did the buffet (which is now way better than when you filmed your video, I may say), and they still offered me the a la carte options. Perhaps the main difference is the quality of service, much more seasoned, perhaps consistent and professional at Belmond, as a well rounded hotel.
I agree with everything you said. My point about the comparison was simply that, I don’t think a smaller resort (still considering Six Senses “small”) needs a massive buffet as long as the offerings are high quality. During my stays the buffets at the Belmond and SS were around the same size but the quality of the products at Belmond blew SS out of the water. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Hello - I really enjoy your channel, and honest and informative reviews. May I suggest a trip to Malaysia in the future. There are some excellent properties in Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi, which I think you will really enjoy. Keep up the great work, and thank you!
You mentioned Kayumanis was your favourite resort before you visited this resort. How was the experience in Kayumanis when comparing with other resorts that you visited?
It used to be my goto spot, but I don't think I said it was my favorite. Kayumanis is a great relaxing villa property, but it's not much more, I wouldn't call it a full on resort. Happy to go into more detail on Patreon. My Roamer tier is desgined specificly for such advise. Thanks for watching 🩴
Can I please ask about the beaches and dogs? I have heard there a lot of stray dogs in Bali, and you mentioned all the beaches are public. Was this an issue on this resort or others? I have watched most of your other Bali reviews, will watch the others and go back in case I missed this bit of information. My husband and I are not great dog lovers.
Dogs in Bali are like Cats in Istanbul or Squirrels in New York- they're there and they don't bother anyone. They're neither aggressive nor curious nor keen to beg for food.

1.Jimbaran Puri, A Belmond Hotel, Bali 2.Andaz Bali 3.The Apurva Kempinski Bali 4.InterContinental Bali Resort(club) Which one would you recommend out of those four options? We are a group of six people planning a trip.
that sunken bathtub after a night of drinking looks dangerous lol. of all the bali resorts which is the most old people friendly ? (least walking / stairs)
Besides the bathtub, I’d say this ranks pretty high up there for accessibility as long as you request a cottage/villa near the front row- which will ensure short distances between all of the areas you need. Ironically after a place like this the next best options are actually much bigger resorts which would have buggy services available for if/when you needed them. But if you’re looking to avoid the buggies then surely the Belmond is manageable. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thanks again for such a well in depth description from the minimal to the maximum. I like that very much. Please if you can explain what to lookout for from the pond at night. You never came back to explain. Also are there snakes, lizards, scorpions, frogs, spiders and any other creepy critter on the resort with so much foliage, flowers, trees, so much of nature? Do not like any of that stuff on my vacation getaway or any other place for that matter.
Ah no sorry for not being clear, the pond just has no barrier around it and the edge is not well lit at night. Considering you need to walk past it if you were to arrive back after dinner (and some drinks…) it’s just something to keep an eye out for. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Any good hotel should have stationary and postcards. Agreed. Did you notice how flimsy the Ritz Carlton pens are now compared to the substantial ones 10 years ago?
“Any good hotel should have stationary and postcards. Agreed”. Not agreed...such a minor thing to whinge about, and these days no one paying these prices actually cares. If your definition of a good hotel is pens and postcards, you really need to expand your horizons, any crap hotel can make them. These Balinese deluxe hotels are fantastic, and the Balinese provide a lovely experience for tourists at these pricey places. If you want to judge a hotel on its pen or postcard facilities, go somewhere else cheaper; it is a trivial dated aspect of a hotel experience since about 1975 lol. Bali deluxe hotels provide so much more of far more value in the travel experience than a pen and a card ffs.
What is the purpose of arguing about stationary? I love ‘deluxe Balinese hotels’ that offer upscale local experiences. I also love old school touches like quality stationary and location specific branding or in Belmond’s case a whimsical retro luggage tag. You seem to have a bit of unresolved pen and paper PTSD.
@@tfft OMG!!!! No wonder I recognized the pool, Gazebo area! Back then it was the only or one of very few hotel in the Jimbaran area and could use the pool eventhough we were not guests! Thank you for replying to my question.
No worries! The room I was in was actually one of the original cottages (there were only 9) from when the property originally opened. It probably looks the same to you bc from the common areas you can only see the original cottages, everything else is kind of hidden behind them.
@@tfft Very interesting! Back then Bali Hyatt Sanur and the Tandjung Sari Hotel Sanur were the Hotspots for International jettsetters, we absolutely loved this former Pansea Hotel and its low key tranquility! I must go back to the Belmond Jimbaran to see it again ❤
@@39mavo There are three different properties in Mulia complex. Mulia resort, The Mulia and Mulia Villas. The Mulia & Mulia Villas are more suitable for Honeymooners. Mulia Resort is more crowded. But The Mulia has only suites and Mulia Resort has options for cheaper rooms. If you stay in The Mulia and Mulia Villas are are allowed to use fecilities anywhere, but if you are staying in Mulia Resort you are not allowed to The Mulia & Mulia Villas. All restaurants located in Mulia Resort, so anyone can use them. The Mulia & Mulia Villas have their own food cafe if you choose to have breakfast or lunch there and don't feel like going to Mulia Resort (which you will be taking by Golf Buggy). The Mulia & Mulia Villas have a free light food and any alcohol (as much as you want) between 4 - 6 pm. Food is incredible. Guests from other hotels come here from Buffet. They also have Table Eight (Chinese), Soleil (European) and Japanese restaurants. At the end of the day you get what you pay. Other option is Ritz Carlton. Stayed there 3 times and can recommend it (SAWANGAN JUNIOR SUITE WITH POOL ACCESS ). Don't even bother with Apurva Kempinski. Beautiful hotel, horrible and sometimes rude service. If you need recommendations for Seminyak or Ubud, please let me know.
Keep in mind the Mulia will be the host for the G20 in November. During that time and leading up to it I can image there would be some disruptions on property.

Any good hotel should have stationary and postcards. Agreed. Did you notice how flimsy the Ritz Carlton pens are now compared to the substantial ones 10 years ago?
Not just RC, lots of brands are cutting corners like this these days. Tbh I’ve never been impressed with RC’s in room amenities.
W Hotel Seminyak Bali, Please !!
Next year, perhaps! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

Where to stay in Bali so we can cover all the places in the short route we have 5 days
You’ll never cover all the places in five days. Pick one or two spots and enjoy. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
A proper Balinese hotel.

The price become 400+now, is it still worth it?
Not that much more tbh. Thanks for watching 🩴
I wonder if this hotel was call called the Pansea Hotel in the 80s and 90s.
It was! The name changed when Orient Express (now Belmond) purchased the property in 2006. Great catch and thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@jadequeen6714 Thankyou for providing this properties backstory!
Are you doing one on the Mulia :)?
No I didn’t visit the Mulia. You can see my next five videos in the description. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
We're been there 3 times and will be there again in 4 weeks
@@michaelrozen6008 would you recommend for a honeymoon?
