Thanks for the kind words, Patrick! We've been receiving wonderful feedback from the community on our app and smart cane, so we appreciate the support. They've been enjoying the clock directions as well and our team releases new features on an ongoing basis, so the app gets even better day by day!
Once again, I was hoping whenever you walked back home, that you would use that we walk in a demonstration. That would’ve been cool. does we walk have Bluetooth? That way, you can have it for your Bluetooth headset set up? does the app have to be running to use the cane? Will the cane let you know when the battery is running low?
I might get one. I think I would customize it to make it look like the colours that I feel represent a cane. Black white red. I don’t know if anybody would take me seriously with a pure white cane. Maybe I could use stickers to turn it into what I think a white cane should look like. Other than that. This is some thing I am definitely inspired to get.
Thanks for the kind words, Tawney! We completely agree - large cities like New York City can seem like a giant maze sometimes. With our turn-by-turn directions, public transit, and other helpful navigation features like Uber integration, we make exploring big cities simple and fun.
I really like the rework guide came with ambitech manufactured with some other company and I hope the price will be a little bit cheaper for us to get in the developing countries like Nigeria
Hey Nicolas! Thanks for supporting us by downloading WeWALK app. If you need any assistance with it or if you have any feedback to share with WeWALK team, please shoot us an email at info@wewalk.io. We love hearing input from our community since we're looking to make WeWALK the one stop shop for all navigational needs - hope you enjoy our app!
Thanks for your support, Danny! We agree that the cane has some very awesome features that makes getting around easier and safer. If you have any suggestions you'd like to share with our team, please reach out to us. :)
I notice you sweep from your side, not the center. I won't tell my o&m instructor ;) . My instructor suggested I use the verification method since I still have some usable vision (RP), and go to sweeping when I can't see, such as in the dark. For those who don't know, verification is help basically like you are trailing a wall, but you aren't. You just hold the cane in front of you so things don't sneak up on you and when you bump something ou can sweep the cane as needed.
LOL, I don’t actually have the best cane skills because I don’t use a cane for navigation. In the video I was more or less demonstrating how well the rolling tip worked.
I no this is 8mnths old but have a question about if ur totally blind u obviously couldn't watch or look at the screen so does it have verbal commands ?
Canes wear out, and for $500 that is a lot to spend every time you need a new cane. An idea would to make the cane replaceable (detach) from the handle, so you can keep the handle and just install a new cane when needed. Also, how much does this weigh?
Yes, it’s definitely heavier than your traditional cane due to the electronics in the handle. You should watch my video from last year. I talk more about how to use the cane itself and its features. Including how the handle detaches from the cane. They also give you an extra adapter so you can put it on your own personal cane to use with the handle. It turns your own personal cane into a smart cane.
Hello there! You're absolutely right in that canes wear out over time. The good news is that the cane we supply with WeWALK is a normal, foldable Ambutech graphite cane. So, if the cane gets worn out, it can be swapped out with another cane. The cane weights 252 grams, or about half a pound.
@@wewalktechnology Thanks for the info! On a related note, I like your app using the clock for directions. That's a feature I'd like to have the option for in othe rmap apps. cheers.
I live here in the UK, and have recently seen up-to-date publicity about the wee walk which states that we will now has a London based link here in the UK, however, there is no phone number for me to be able to contact this direct UK link and I am wary about buying the cane in US dollars as this might incur import duty I am concerned on the UK legislation that there does not seem to be a lot of options for direct phone contact with anyone wherever they are at we walk!🤔👋
Thank you for the review. The app looks pretty good but I’m still a little confused about what additional functionality would be added by using the cane. How does it integrate with the app in addition to providing GPS location? Doesn’t the phone already do that? I can already connect the phone to a Bluetooth headset and use it with my regular cane. I’m just curious what advantages there are for using the actual hardware. Thank you.
The canes main function is obstacle detection. It uses haptic feedback to alert you of obstacles in your way. It also has a built in light. There are additional features as well. I would recommend visiting their website to learn more.
How long does the WeWalk canes charge last? I’m still skeptical of this cane so I would like to listen to a video as it is being used out in public/ street and inside of buildings.
That app seems really cool. Could someone use it without actually having the Wewalk cane too? And does it only give walking directions or is there public transit as well?
Hello there! As Sam mentioned in his response, the app can work without the cane. However, using the app with the smart cane would give you additional benefits such as obstacle detection through the cane's ultrasonic sensors, audio output through the cane's speakers, and a hands-free navigation experience (meaning you can have your phone in your pocket while using the WeWALK app). Thanks for the kind words about our app and let us know if you have any other questions!
hi Sam, I'm hoping for your help. I live in Ontario Canada and my family has offered to help me buy the WeWalk Smart cane but I'm having such a struggle. I have the app and can't try it as it cost money but when I try to pay it won't accept my debt/credit card. I emailed them but the have stopped responding to me so I have no clue how to buy the cane or even try just the app I can't find a toll free number to call them so I'm at a lose on what to do. Hope you can help and thanks for your time

For those with low vision, the app has large print high contrast elements. For no vision, you would use a screen reader. Basically the same way you would set up any app with no vision
Also, if you need any assistance with setting up the app, send us an email at info@wewalk.io and we'd be happy to help. You can download our free app on your phone's App or Play Store. Hope you enjoy it!

Can you change the tip on the cane
Yes, it uses hook style tips.
Does the cane has French language and can it be used by a totally blind person
How do you operate the app with zero vision?
You would have to use a feature like TalkBack, If you have no vision at all you would be using tatkback to use your phone anyway :)
Yes, as he said, you would be using your phones screen reader, much like I did in the video.
Great video but just so you know We see street names... not sure if you are concerned about privacy.
Was going to point this out as well. May need some more blurring.
Not too worried about it, If I blurred out the streets on the map you wouldn't have gotten the full effect of it.
How is a blind person supposed to set up the app

This cane is such a scam.
All it is, is a $600 vibrating speaker.
