Thank you so much for this video. I just finished my first pair. Unfortunately I did not choose colors which contrast enough. But I got through the pattern. And am now ready to do a real pair.
Now I want to make this socks so badly. I have those looms. I ordered two sets of them because I hate doing it one set a time. That’s why I order two of them so I can work back and forth equal. It’s easier for my mental.
I am a knitter but when my grandson showed interest in crochet and knitting it was hard to teach without him getting frustrated and losing interest. I showed him these Looms and he was able to start making little things and feeling like he finished a project. Then I saw you doing this and I thought, I'd rather make socks on this than 4 or 5 needles. Thank you for this video. Also since your video I don't believe you can get the looms at your link anymore.
Thank you for this video. Very informative. I have two sets of these looms coming. Why are you using reinforcing yarn and what is it that you are using? I can't wait to try knitting socks in this manner.
Reinforcing thread is a secondary strand typically an elastic blend just to add extra protection in the areas of the sock that tend to wear the fastest. Heels, toes, basic parts of the foot that callus. You can run it through the entire sock If you would like. I have done so on various occasions. It's not necessary but I recommend it. You put that much time and energy add a little extra support to the heel and toe.
Hi! Really want to make this sock for Halloween. However I saw the written pattern was for the 64 peg purple loom which is too big for me. How would I go about setting up/marking the 56 peg orange loom like you're using in video? Would the pattern change at all to accommodate fewer number of pegs? Thanks!
If you check out my ravelry page and find socks you like I can probably convert it for these looms. www.ravelry.com/designers/amanda-pratt I plan on doing more patterns on these looms just going to be a bit.
For this type of knitting and color work It's practice honestly. When I'm using an E-wrap in a project I use a yarn guide/tensioner to help. You can take your loom tool and press down between the pegs after each stitch to help loosen it up a bit. Other than that cuddle up drink some hot tea and relax while knitting. I knit tighter when stressed or rushed
These socks were a blast to create. I hope you enjoy the video and pattern.

I'm so glad the videos help. I needle knit as well and yes working with 5 needles at one time can be overwhelming. I will check the links, thank you
@HypnoticHystericalLooming I'm wondering if regular sock patterns can be used on the looms? I've got so many colorwork patterns that I'd love to use.
Yes, as long as the peg count is the same.
@@HypnoticHysteriaLooming 🙌 ahhh...I'm so excited!!

I got mine online so I do not know if Michael's Hobby Lobby Joanne's Carrie reinforcing thread
I congratulate you on your beautiful socks; this is too rich for my taste. As you get older, I need easy paters and thicker yarn.
Here is my sock playlist. I have others you may like better.

Do you like these oblong looms better then the round? What is the peg count and gauge for this loom?
Do we have basic socks video for this KB sock looms? And what is the piece you are showing besides looms?

What is the reinforcing thread?
It makes the fabric denser and more durable.
Would I be able to do this on a knitting board sock loom? It's a rectangle, not an oval.
Yes, gauge and peg number is the main thing.
@@HypnoticHysteriaLooming I guess I just need to figure out how to sign zag to the end of a square instead of an oval.
vm.tiktok.com/ZMeUMSaAy/ I am uploading the video to my channel as well. I hope this helps.
Is there a way to make thinner, lighter socks. Where to get thinner sock thread?
Check yarn shops instead of retail chain stores. Smaller the loom gauge the thinner the yarn you can use for your socks.
Do you have a written pattern for this?

✌️👏👏🌹
Are they easy make socks
These are more intermediate level socks.
how to do keep tension from getting tight
Could you use red heart ❤️ yarn
Red heart is a bit thick for a sock loom. Patton's kept sock is my go to for socks most craft stores carry it.
