    Wow. I have not made a cane yet as I am new to polymer clay. I have lots of tools and lots of clay, I just need the know how on these types of things. I am going to look for those discs. I want to thank you for your informational "classes" they are very helpful to us new clayers and us old ladies. Never to old to learn!

    What you were talking about with the one with the notches, how they lock together, that's called tessalating. (I'm not sure if that's how to spell it) and it's really cool and I'm now thinking of some way to do that in other designs for extruders.

      This was another great video. I was wondering if you could do a review on the extruder table clamp you used in this video. I have it but I haven't used it yet and a friend is getting into polymer clay and I was considering giving her one for her birthday. Is it possible to hear your thoughts on this product?

    Thank you for giving me the link to making the rainbow extruder petal flowers. I just think they are so cute. Your idea of cutting them after they are baked is good to know. Thanks again for the help. Do you know what craft stores carry the set of disks? We have JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby, Michaels & Craft Whse locally.

    Great review! I just might have to share this one on CTD too. Did you try chilling or freezing the canes before slicing them thinly? Thanks for your thorough information!

    • @PolymerClayTutor
      @PolymerClayTutor  10 лет назад

      Thanks Jenny CraftTestDummies! I didn't try freezing or chilling them, but that definitely would help. One thing I wished was in the die set was a background shape that would work with those skinny petals... it would be an awesome way to make super easy flower canes. I'll have to suggest that to her. And, thanks for sharing these videos with your followers on CraftTestDummies. I really appreciate that fact that you like the information enough to pass it along. :)

    I was fascinated by this tutorial, and looked online for these extruder disks from Cynthia Tinapple. It seems they are out of production - I wasn't able to find them anywhere. If you know of other disks that give new possibilities to the way we use our extruders, please do another tutorial showing what's available today. Thank you, Cindy!

    Hi Cindy! I'm just getting back into polymer clay after a loooong hiatus. Could you put the baked flower can into the clear acrylic extruder tube that you showed in another video and then it would be easy to slice into thin slices? I'm enjoying your informative videos, thanks so much! :-)

    • @PolymerClayTutor
      @PolymerClayTutor  8 лет назад

      Maybe, you'd have to test it though. It might be too loose or to tight to work right and since it is baked, you wouldn't be able to change the size to make it fit.

      Hi Fairest Oftheball I have not tried the Makins pasta machine yet, though I hear it is pretty good. Don't know if it is a s good as the Atlas but it is supposed to be better than the other made for clay machines. Maybe someone else here has one and can give their opinion on the machine?
