  • Adding interest to extruded clay.
I used a Lisa Pavelka Border Mold called "Simple Elegance" and the texture sheet "Shanks A Lot".
The Squarebenders are available from Tiny Pandora Crafting Boutique.

I've never seen this done before and I watch LOTS of PC videos! I think that you've pioneered something, so now you should name it... the Unruly Snakes? Unruly Roll? It's a wonderful idea!

I am in Ottawa Canada and discovered your channel a while ago. I have watched so many of your videos and I laugh out loud every time because you’re very funny. I love that everything doesn’t go perfectly and that you keep it real. You are a natural teacher and I have taken all kinds of notes from watching all of your videos. I’m very new to polymer clay having made two batches Diamond painting pens totalling 17. But now that I’ve been bingeing through your videos I’m ready to try some new techniques as I’m hoping to sell them.
All this to say you are a RUclips treasure and I look forward to each of your videos.
Thank you. Cheers, Cathy the Canadian

Thanks so much for the encouragement! I think there is a definite benefit to having videos that include fun and imperfections, although people who do it properly are good too!
Good luck with sales but don't let that aspect stress you out... Enjoy your creativity. xx

I don't know if it's available in Europe but it may be. Meh ron body powder comes in silver, gold, bronze and rose gold. They are perfect for true metallic finishes. Think gold finger in the James Bond film. It's amazing. I use it to coat some of my larger work. After setting stones in place, I loosely brush the powder over the entire piece. It can also be used to mix into the clay or paint. Also: the video turned out perfectly. I think the camera automatically adjusts exposure according to the ambient light. The banded pieces you used also make beautiful surfaces on flatter coils which can be converted into rings or hoop earrings, etc. Thank you for sharing what you know with us!

Hey, thanks for your comment, I like your ideas! We can get that powder on Amazon UK but seems like it is posted from the USA. :D

Regarding your squeaky extruder, I purchased some gadgets from Lucy Clay and they included a little container of grease and instructions with their extruder. So I did it to my Maken's extruder also and it took away all the unwanted noise. The grease also makes the tool work far more easily and smoothly. If you have not purchased from LC I am sure any hardware store would have some kind of grease that would work. It was slightly translucent white and had the consistency of face cream. All you do is run a very small amount of grease along the crank shaft (the long cylindrical piece with threads on it). Now you can extrude away online without offense.
Thank you for this video, I have purchased several molds for texturing PC "sausages" but have avoided using them so far because I could foresee the frustrations ahead with difficulties in removing and handling the soft PC and the damage it would do to the texture or the sausage. However, in this one video you have addressed all my questions on the topic. I truly appreciate your videos, and your sense of humor just slays me! Please continue on.
Oh, and water on wood will eventually cause cracking and damage, might one of Teresa's round cane-benders work in the same capacity without the potential damage?

@@UnrulyHousewife Yes, I really hate the prices but I can always count on the quality of her products and they add to my efficiency. She really puts alot of thought into her products and really makes sure to include everything we will need to complete our projects within her kits. She is all out of her "color me hearts and color me owls" I waited too long to buy them and it doesn't look like she will ever get them back in again....whaaaa
