For anyone that tried this on a laptop and got the broken/flickering screen, one solution that worked for me was to plug my laptop into an external monitor. Stopped the flickering and returned back to normal. Open the CRU folder and restart all or revert back to previous screen refresh rate in the windows settings.

@Hij Rt It doesn't damage the screen? But i punched it and fucked it up so it was my fault, but worked pretty well with 74Hz and is not dangerous as i could see...
i am using the ASUS VP228 monitor clocked at 74hz and so far its not having any issues. did you notice any flaws during the time that you used that monitor?@@TobalMinecraft

i forgot that both my monitors were 75 hz and, forgot to change it from 60 hz to 75 hz and, couldnt change it on the nvidia control panel. searched up how to fix it, you showed up, got sketched out at first but now its all fine now. thanks my guy. btw my monitors are 24-inches, 75 hz (both of them) and are curved too.

i believe it worked because i did the same thing i got 2 options 60 and 70 and i clicked 70 it went black for like 7 seconds and it says revert or keep changes and i kept it
I have lenovo thinkvision T23i-10 and Automatic standard LCD option is not showing there.
The only automatic options available are:
Automatic PC
Automatic HDTV
Automatic CRT

I don't have to option to change the resolution on nvidia control panel, I'm using a laptop is that why?

Edit: I overclocked it even more to 78hz but it put small blackbars that are kinda very small on the top and bottom... but it's even smoother!

This is because your monitor is NOT capable of refreshing 78 times per second. The 78hz mode means screen refreshing *78 times per second* which your monitor is NOT capable of!
TYSM this actually works i was a bit scared at the beginning but I used the nvidia software in stead of the software u said (also btw u have to put on make a customised screen resolution and then put the quality of the native quality of the monitor then u should test first of all and also btw if your monitor just turns off u press ctrl z and it will go back if this happens try with 70 hz or a bit higher . )

your monitor doesnt support overclocking then
windows gets confused and thinks it still 60 hz. just leave it like that and also every monitor supports overclocking

Asus GTX 1660i + LG 34UB88 over HDMI = doesn't work. The 75 Hz option never appears in the pull-down, nor in the nVidia app. Changed cabling to DP (GTX supports up to v1.4, up to v1.2 on LG), ran CRU app and it worked perfectly. Forgot to re-check nVida control panel after making cable change and prior to running CRU to verify if this app was even needed. In any event, 75 Hz does now show up in the nVidia control panel. Probably obvious to the graphics power users out there that DP is needed for this... took me a little bit to figure that out.

i did this and was able to get 75hz succesfully in my windows settings but when i go to Valorant i am not able to see the 75hz it only show 1920x1080 (60hz) instead it should show like 1920x1080(75hz)

You can go to Nvidea control panel , change resolution option,create custom resolution,you can change it from there....only if you are an NVIDEA user...thank me later

Thanks. There is a limit in resolution and refresh rate in specific graphics card and monitor. 80hz is out of range for my 1680x1050 lenovo monitor i was able to overclock from 59 to 60.
I wasn't able to do this on my internal monitor, it only works on higher resolution external monitors i believe. Anyway thanks again!

I tried also 75Hz and 120Hz it works fine on my 60Hz monitor. Also for the people who can't use 75Hz then don't force your monitor i recommend putting to 65Hz or Maximum 70-72Hz.
My 60Hz monitor it's 60Hz but 3840x2160 4k and probably that's why it can run 120Hz. But i tried putting 144hz. It works 144hz but only 1920x1080 FHD. The max it can run is 240Hz on 1080p only half of screen it shows and only works on 1600x900 or 1366x768. But i ain't putting under 1080p wtf XD

Managed to only oc my monitor to 71hz, after that the screen goes all blurry, my monitor is Acer SA230, connected with dvi. But still 11 more hz for free is good :)
